Default Advice for a young stripper in wake of New Orlean's age limit?

I'm an 18 year old hopeful stripper going to school in New Orleans, but I only recently found out about the 21+ law in Louisiana clubs (how I just found out is beyond me too, but regardless). This has left me confused as to whether that means dancing or working in a club is out of the cards for me totally or if there are certain clubs I could work in or positions other than dancing that I could potentially do. I would really appreciate any information or help I could get with this, as I am having a hard time finding info elsewhere online. Stripping throughout college has been a planned-out concept for me for a couple years and this has really thrown a wrench in things for me, so thank you for any help.

Yeah, it really sucks. However, you can work in strip clubs as a shot girl, waitress, bartender or door girl. And you also can do private parties outside the club. PM me and I can send you the contact info for private party agencies I work with.

You could always travel dance during the summer--summer sucks in NOLA anyway.

Hey! I travel to NOLA every year in the spring but couldn't make it this year. I was wondering about good places to start as a newbie? Do you know anything about how burlesque performers find openings? Any info helps ty!

Many 21+ clubs will allow you to work. Mine does! I started there at 19 and now I'm 21. They won't allow you to drink, and you shouldn't try.

I have literally no interest in drinking, which is part of why it's so frustrating. But I've heard that the clubs have been cracking down more since some legal actions last fall.

Hm, well, I've never done burlesque, but I know a few of our performers run schools and production companies. That might be a good way to get connected to the local scene: https://www.facebook.com/TrixieMinxProductions/

Penthouse, Hustler, Barely Legal and Rick's are all good Bourbon Street clubs to try out.

I'm not sure if the same would apply in Louisiana as they now have statewide laws mandating clubs be 21+, but if it did is that a situation where the club knows you're under 21 and hires you anyway? Would I just be trying all the clubs and seeing if any of them took me?
