Any fellow athletes on here?
I'm an ultra runner with an emphasis on timed multi day races (2 to 6 day long races currently)
What are your goals this year? Hows your training going so far?

^ I have a question- how do you treat knee pain/knee injuries with running so much?

I run 30 miles a week and I am about to start swimming after 20 years of not swimming (omg I cant believe I even have had time in my life for 20 years to pass from doing something).
About knee injuries, you can take glucosamine Msm, it’s a joint supplement, google it. Also for me I just think some people’s bodies are made for certain activities and some are not. With running, I’ve never had knee pain but I have had a muscle in my butt that I couldn’t stretch out that was giving me pain for about 18 months. It only went away after dry needling and my weekly miles going down to about 5 to zero per week when I was in school for two years. Otherwise I just think some people are made for certain activities and others aren’t, personal opinion.

I agree. I want to ask about "dry needling" but thinking about it is too painful.
IMO my knee issues probably stemmed from being underfed as a teen and also being muscular for a petite frame, so more weight bearing down on my joints.
I need to get my self to the gym rightthisminute but this is a great thread, I hope some triathletes will weigh in here.

Dry needling wasn’t painful for me but it made me have a fight or flight response, it was the weirdest thing ever, the doctor told me it happens to about 5% of people. It really really freaked me out, hard to describe but very chaotic feeling.
