So, basically we're discussing food as medicine here.

Pears cleanse the liver of pesticides & toxins, restore digestive tract.
Pineapple burns fat, & tones tummy
    Lemons alkalize & cleanse liver
Figs reduce bloating & help digestion
Apples reduce brain fog, help circulation, help the body recover from stress

More to follow, add to this if u want

    Peanut butter is good.

Apparently coffee will either kill you or make you immortal. There seems a difference of opinion.

My thoughts- some prefer almond butter to peanut butter because peanut butter is mostly fat. & Coffee is a lifesaving resource- so many people die from bowel ailments that go undiagnosed & drinking coffee is a cheap method of facilitating bowel health. Green tea works too.

Ginger helps with immunity - I always put it on my sushi

Anytime I stuff myself full of food, I always drink warm green tea afterwards to sort of help my digestive system, to induce nighttime relaxation, and get some antioxidants

I love this thread! I’m trying to eat healthier and improve my diet so thanks Whirlerz for starting this

The healthiest habits I have that help me a lot are drinking lots of water and not drinking any sodas or carbonated beverages (which I truly do not like the taste of and don’t drink anyway). I also have heard that apricot seeds are good for cancer prevention? Definitely something to look into. Meditation and not smoking and drinking very little alcohol are other healthy habits of mine good for my body and soul.

I just learned in my nursing class that sugar is a jagged molecule that can tear up to blood vessels. So I’m really trying to keep sugar out of my diet-fuck sugar!

Keep sodium between 1500-2400 ml, and drink at least 1500 ml of water. That’s my starting point.

I honestly don’t know about specific foods.

I will say I love amazing grass products. They have them at Walmart now. I think it’s cool this stuff is becoming affordable.

Kava root tea-it really feels like a mini Xanax

I avoid salt as much as possible. You can soak ham, change the water a time or two and get a lot of the salt out.

Cilantro and parsley cleanse toxins from the body.

Garlic has so many uses. Anti inflammatory, pre biotic, and anti microbial properties. Great for immune system, fighting colds, yeast infections and tge list goes on.

Apple cider vinegar/lemon juice in warm water in the morning has so many benefits I can't list all of them but balances blood sugars and ph.

    Cinnamon also balances blood sugar

Cocout oil has many antimicrobial properties. Anti inflammatory. Good dose of healthy fats.

I came down with strep throat last year. I made my own anti biotic gargle with cayenne pepper, garlic, and warm lemon water. it was gone within 2 days. I gargled with some and drank the rest about 3 cups a day.

I leaned all of this thanks to one of my favorite home remedy sites, earthclinic.com.

Do tell! I love ethnobotanicals specifically those that mimic other rx drugs.

I love taking kratom for a nice head change and as a social lubricant when I go out in place of alcohol. I have read a lot about kava but have never taken it. It is praised as nature's Xanax and also highly recommended as a substitute for alcohol. I am cutting down on my alcohol use and have an interesting relationship with alcohol. I have developed a much healthier relationship with it but when if I drink the slightest amount I can get into a negative state even days after. I get "hangziety" for days even if I have 3 drinks or less.

I don't drink to get drunk per say but it is nice to let go of the inhibitions and let loose. kratom does help me let go but only to a certain extent. I'm not expecting kava to get me into an "I've had 6 drank's and I'm ready to turn up state" but it sounds great as a way to clear your mind and loosen up.

What kind of kava do you get? I hear the capsules do not lead to the sought after effects. I hear the root tea is much stronger but tastes like shit and can make people feel nauseated. Kratom tastes like shit too but I make my own kratom smoothies and OJ really cuts the taste. I will also make kratom tea so I'm not ingesting so much plant material. I boil it down and then add the liquid to oj or smoothies. Works great.

I believe that & want to get some for myself. I suffer from bad anxiety & a double bagged cup of Yogi Kava steeped for 10 min really relaxes me it also helps put me to sleep.

Yes. When I quit drinking on my birthday I brought wheatgrass shots into work, so we could do shots. It makes me feel really good. Like not like caffeine, but just ready to kick ass.

They sell the frozen wheatgrass at Whole Foods. It’s kinda pricey for fresh wheatgrass. I like the amazing grass tabs that go in the water bottle. Cheap and easy

Wheatgrass is the freshly sprouted first leaves of the common wheat plant, used as a food, drink, or dietary supplement. Wheatgrass is served freeze dried or fresh, and so it differs from wheat malt, which is convectively dried. Wheatgrass is allowed to grow longer and taller than wheat malt.

Like most plants, wheatgrass contains chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins and enzymes. Claims about the health benefits of wheatgrass range from providing supplemental nutrition to having unique curative properties, but these claims have not been scientifically proven.[1]

Wheatgrass juice is often available at juice bars, and some people grow and juice their own in their homes. It is available fresh as produce, in tablets, frozen juice, and powder. Wheatgrass is also sold commercially as a spray, cream, gel, massage lotion, and liquid herbal supplement. Because it is extracted from wheatgrass sprouts, i.e. before the wheat seed or "berry" used in flour begins to form, wheatgrass juice is gluten-free, but some dietitians recommend that those with celiac disease avoid it due to a high risk of cross contamination.[medical citation needed]

I buy pumpkin spice with no sugar in it. it's a mixture of cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg. I put it in my coffee with coconut oil and a bit of stevia. Put it all in a blender and it's my bulletproof coffee. Gives me energy all day without the crash
I also find the pumpkin spice mix helps with acne, maybe it's the ginger in it
