Default Stripping because you have to

When you have to go back to dancing because your 18 year old self chose it as a career and your 30 something year old self has no other work experience or skills or trades as a result and no one will hire you and you're depressed because this is it and no one wants to hire a great stripper and everyone keeps rejecting you and that's making you more depressed because no one wants anything to do with you but here's the club right there with open arms and no judgement.

Maybe get a couple hours out of your current location and fabricate some work experience if you need to as a leg up to the vanilla world ? You've got to do what you've got to do.....

Definitely why I think many girl "progress" to escorting or marrying regulars or sugar daddies.
I am in this limbo period of escorting or dancing just because I am sick of dancing, I have worked 1 day in over 7 months and getting myself back into that environment has been very hard for me, but then also find escorts that are business and not into drinking or messed up because of escorting is also hard. So.... but I understand, I have worked my ass off and invested a lot and Im still not done :/

Did you choose it as career or did you have to do this to survive? I had to do this to get away from my abuser. You have to get back up and fight. Whatever you can do to make it a little bit better. Take a class or something. You wanna go back to school-go back to school. Don’t ever think your past defines your future. Get a vanilla job and go work part time and transition out. I’ve been through the dark night of the soul. Just make the next right choice in love.

Give me a break. As a stripper, you have SO many skills you can literally use anywhere. I understand if you're just venting, and in that case, I'm sorry. But if not, stop the pity party and use your hustle skills. Stripping is a HIGHLY skilled profession, don't fucking buy into the bullshit that it's not - and stop selling it(or if you're smart, start selling it to the right people).

Amen. We’re survivors! Yes, it is hard when you don’t look good on paper. I’ve been through that hell and it sucks to get rejected.

What I will say is most people are up to their eyeballs in debt. Over 75% American live pay check to paycheck. I have friends I dance with degrees that are having a hard time getting jobs and if they do it doesn’t pay a living wage. It sucks everywhere. No one is happy in this economy right now. Be grateful you don’t have diabetes because otherwise you have to go to Canada just to get some damn medicine.

I understand depression and if your just venting, but sex worker or not most people arent happy right now with the Econonmy. Don’t feel like your a horrible person that made some horrible mistake that you can’t recover from.

I dedicate this song to you my love...”you can be who you were or who you’ll become”

This! BTW...my current boyfriend pulled strings to get me my first "legit" job after I was just in the adult industry for a long time. (He did nothing illegal.) Obviously he had selfish motivation to help me & I did all the hard work to maintain that new start.

    But it worked!

Use your empathy to get through this time in your life. Rightatthismoment there is a waitress or a salesperson or a tradesperson irritated with work and wondering the same things that you posted on the OP. Your challenge is to find things you like doing that pay well enough to live on....

Would you feel as bad about your situation if you were 20? Probably not and the reason for that is because we have this notion in our society that by 30, you have to have everything in life figured out. You don’t. You haven’t even reached the middle of your life yet, considering people live till 70 or 80.
All you have to do now is start from scratch: get an entry level job and grow from there. Customer service is one example and is a great resume builder vs bartender or waitress. If that fails, you can also do retail. Now, your paycheck at these entry level jobs will suck. To keep making a decent living, you’ll have to keep dancing 1-3 times a week. Consider having this sucky entry level job as a resume builder and nothing else. Meantime I’d suggest you go to school: trade or university is up to you to gain some knowledge and skills. And the whole process will probably take 34 years. Maybe 5. But if you think about it, you’re only going to be 35 (that’s nothing) when it’s all set and done. By that time, you’ll have a vanilla job resume and skills to get a well paying job to quit dancing for good.

If you aren't afraid of blood, maybe try starting with phlebotomy aka lab tech. Find a training program that does internships, where your last month is at a potential enployer... you shadow an employee, rack up some on the job experience as a trainee, work hard and if they like you, boom, once you finish your program they will likely hire you. Lab tech pays better than most entry level jobs and it is a great stepping stone. Just one idea. Usually affordable few months program to get certified.

^ This, and a lot of home health care agencies will get you started with some school assistance/job placement.

Is it because you have no other option or have you rejected other options? Talking to… not even just dancers, but normie tier women about what I do at my vanilla job often prompts a “fuck that” response from them. Whatever. I like my job and I’m paid well.

If it comes down to a matter of survival, you do what you gotta do. I could’ve ended up in a more glamorous profession than my vanilla job, sure. But this is where I ended up, and I make the best of it.

Semi-threadjack- I think "hookup culture" and incel Internet culture make people reflexively hateful towards strippers.

Aside from that I do have to point out, if you work as a stripper with the mindset that there's nothing better and you're stuck with it, it's bad for your mind and could cause depression.

This is clearly a troll mocking strippers.

On a serious note, regardless of occupation, everyone should have a backup plan or some side job.

    THIS!

OP STOP IT! Social Interaction, Networking, Communication Skills all while using your femininity to get what u want are skills that many vanilla women wish they had! Only thing u may need to work on, depending on which field youre thinking about transitioning into, is your fashion. Other than that you're good.

This is coming from someone who has grad from college, got a job (even tho it took me almost a yr to find one AFTER I GRADUATED), did everything "right" by society and was laid off, buuut my bills were still due and have YET to get hired anywhere. I'm a millennial btw...

All those skills i listed above weren't nearly as good before i started dancing.

This is coming from someone who has experienced BOTH sides of the spectrum!

    Pleeease, don't doubt yourself!

Oh and another thing i wanted to say, I had sooo much drama on that job too. When you look beautiful and has intelligence on top of that and is an AA (idk ur race op), baby YOU ARE A THREAT and office politics aint noooo joke! You think this job fucks with your mental health and drains you, sheeeeeeit....

Pigging backing on what NYC.Bianca said, i think it's time for you to start looking at being a "kept woman". Ain't nothing wrong with that! Idk how u want your life to look in the next 5-10 yrs, but working, ON TOP OF having a relationship and raising kids seems tiring as hell! I personally would want to be married and a STAHM, esp w/ all these day care workers abusing children. I mean think about it, if both parents are working high-powered jobs, who tf is raising the kids!?

    *sigh*

I'm kinda rambling atm, but op just meditate and find other hobbies and really sit down and fig out how u want your life to look in the next decade. When you're quiet and still (meditating) the answer will come to you!

    Best Wishes!

You know....I thought this might be a troll post. It doesn't matter though. The topic is relevant, and my advice stands. There's nothing wrong with making a living on your own.
