    Question Lapdancing and escorting overlap?

I'm in London so I suppose this area is a bit of a minefield.
Anyway, I'm wondering about the overlap between lapdancing and escorting.
I've got friends who work in Europe who work as lapdancers but also use it to find escort work outside of their lapdancing premises.
In some countries lapdancing involves "extras" in the club.

Now obviously a lot of lapdance bars in England see it that moonlighting/propositioning etc are harmful to their lapdance business.
Some however, go for the "VIP experience" type thing at their club in a low profile way. Others turn a blind eye to what their staff do outside of work if it doesn't directly affect the business.

Now I was wondering if I get back to lapdancing, maybe I'm not against escorting on the side (because I'm not sure how much work is really available as a Dominatrix). How should I react to propositioning from clients while I'm lapdancing? In some countries the discussion is "do you ever date customers".
Am I mad/foolish for thinking this? I don't want it to cause a lot of drama or hassle. So is it something worth considering if its not in the face of lapdance management?
    Hmmmm...

Keep em separate, even if escorting/prostitution is legal where you are.

Two different services, two different markets. Don't fuck up girls' money in the clubs (both yours and others who don't want to escort) by fishing in the club pond for escort clients.

Regardless of whether escorting is legal in your area -- if club management thinks your actions are taking money away from their bottom line, you risk losing your job there.

Thanks for your reply Jalena. Last thing I'd want to do is cause hassle in the club. I noticed there's lots of discussion on OTC here, so I'll check that out too. Maybe I'm comparing lapdancing today to friends who told me about 10, 15 years ago and how it seemed to be more lucrative. Atleast from what they claim.. who knows?!
I remember when I lapdanced in the past, it was clear some customers wanted extra. I didn't really know what to do, other than say "no we're not allowed".

Don't do it. As a former dancer & a current escort -you will make alot of enemies from girls & management if you mix the two. But also put yourself in the other girls shoes -your pretty much undercutting them.

Maybe work through an agency until you have a steady stable of regulars or feel comfortable being independant? Thats how I got started

Believe it or not, a different kind of sex work customer frequents escorts versus strippers.

Get a Twitter account- there are a lot of "punters" "clients" and "joes" on there that will helpfully explain the customer POV for girls learning the ropes for Indie escort work.

I've tried to fathom it. I think strip club is more of a groups thing. Especially young, and old too.
Younger guys seem to be more secretive about escorts to their friends and colleagues, older guys too. Maybe less if they travel with their work and have an escorts culture with their friends.

This I know from having female friends from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations (like Canada)-

for social reasons, strippers and escorts are kept separate.....Its considered bad form/manners to accidentally put customers in a position where either 1) the wife finds out 2) the boss complains, or 3) someone blabs to the local press about "So and So" partying at a strip bar or a hotel.

These days in the UK a lot of the high end girls handle their own affairs independently and do not really work strip bars/burlesque unless they really really want to.

The problem with escorting out of a strip bar is - NO ONE can keep a secret these days. That's the simple truth. If you want a great time in the industry, you have to be as discreet as possible!
