Default Help! Dark skinned newbie in san antonio/austin area!

Hey guys! I am very new to the stripper game and have been contemplating getting into the business for awhile and I have finally decided to do it. I have never done exotic dancing but I can twerk and dance sexy. I just want to get an idea of how the clubs work out here and usually how the auditions usually go and also if I would reasonably even get hired since I do have a lack of professional dancing experience. Thank you!!

I would definitely take my time to pick out a few clubs that could be potentially my home club and scout them out a little bit go as a customer and talk to the girls possibly the house mom or a manager and just really get a feel of the club and see if that’s the environment that you feel safe in. Take your time love that’s the biggest thing to remember and if you do auditions take your time with it and do what makes you feel sexy dance sensual and slow and DONT FORGET TO ALWAYS TRY TO STAY POSITIVE!! Good look in your search love

Why both cities? Are you somewhere in between like San Marcos?

Most clubs you call them and ask when to show up to audition, and then you’re on stage for a song. You’re being evaluated for your body and ability to take off your top when they tell you to—NOT your dancing skills. Then you’re either in or you’re not.

I’d recommend San Antonio as more newbie friendly. It’s less competition and thus less hustle to sell dances and do decently enough. That being said, extras or OTC is (generally speaking) than in Austin so it’s harder to get into consistent higher money without it. If you can give more of a description of yourself, I can give specific club recommendations.

I wish we could reply with body pictures but I’m 5’4 about 145 pounds. I have a very curvy athletic body that men love. I am dark skinned. I’ve been dancing for over a month now so I kinda have my dancing skills down. I just need a club that has more money than the one I am currently at the guys are so cheap & I’m over it.

UPDATE: I’ve been dancing at ricks for a little over a month & it’s been so slow so this week I went club hunting and came to terms that San Antonio is DEFINITELY prejudice towards darkskinned girls!! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Oh, sorry to hear that. The industry in general is more rough towards dark skinned dancers.

greetings from san antonio! its rough down here especially during this time of year. I am also a lovely brown skinned gal and it took me MONTHS to get hired anywhere. i spent all of today looking for work in austin and was denied at most of the clubs, but a few places(XTC, Rick's Cabaret in round rock, and Foxys) told me to try again in a month or two.

I know it can be hard, but dont give up. When im looking for a new club, if they dont explicitly tell me no, i keep trying and eventually they bite. i've only been dancing a few months, but ive been able to make good and consistent money at the 2 clubs i've been hired at in San Antonio. if a club says no, keep showing up every couple weeks.... they'll bite eventually. thats how i ended up at the club im at now.

I usually do mid/night shift at All stars and go to Diamonds after hours to make another couple hundred on the weekends. all stars i good money, but you have to be careful because some of the men there ONLY want black girls, others wont even respond to you when you sit down and start talking. i usually make most of my money off just a few guys. I am not a hustler.

Diamonds is a more urban atmosphere and you probably wont be doing a lot of lapdances. guys just want you to dance around them while they throw money. it gets pretty packed after 2 am and you have to keep an eye on your money, because other dances WILL try and pick up all of your money. I had a girl try to take money off of my stage one time because she was dancing next to the stage and said that some of it went up there. the only thing that got her to give me my money back was explaining that some of my money also fell on the floor.

I was gonna actually call diamonds today to audition I want to find me an after hours club. I went to Allstars but they said no and I think it was because of the door girl honestly. I currently work at Ricks and I used to make good money but the club has been SO SLOW and last Saturday the customers ONLY wanted the lighter complexion girls so I think I just need to take a day off and go club searching again. I just get so frustrated knowing that I could be the baddest or close to the baddest bitch in the club and they’ll choose a lighter complexion girl just because & frustrates me even more because I’m stuck in SA so I have to deal with it. But maybe you’ll see me at diamonds girl! I go by Tiffany!
