    Default Help.

Any tips on working in an urban club? Like what to say when asking if they want a dance? I’ve only been once & literally made no money.

I've only worked in one before and I made chump change because although I sold a ton of dances, the dances were only $5 each so it was nothing. From what I saw the biggest earners didn't actually sell dances normally, they just twerked in front of guys and the dudes threw money if they liked it. I'm not sure if that's how other clubs work, plus I only worked there on a weekend so that might have effected it too.

I think any club that’s only charges $5 a song is not looking out for dancers.

Depends, if you have a big butt you can literally just start twerking on them and get rained on or wanna dance them. If your skinny it helps to be flexible, funny and charming. Interact with these guys before you hit the stage and they’ll tip you well on stage. Even in an urban club men still love compliments and banter.

I definitely agree. And the house fee was $55 so you literally had to sell at least 11 songs before breaking even. And management tried to fine you for every little thing; I probably wouldn't go back unless I had a friend with me to team up and twerk on guys with, because a lot of the girls I saw making the most were in pairs.

    Op, listen to this advice...

Oh yeah and those 5$ dance type clubs, i.e. pin ups in atl, u have to work in groups and be good at stage sets.

Overall, u gotta be good at stage sets at urban clubs imo annnd you have to use those "maybe later", or what i personally call pulling teeth type of hustles with the custy's there (BM) more often too. Mind u ima skinny girl...

I also would like to say that if you are a skinny BW that works or plans to work in an urban club, u basically have 2 options:

    1) get butt injections or implants (Dr. Stanton on westcoast, Cali i believe, seems to be the highest ranked on RealSelf for implants)

    2) try to hired at a mixed/upscale/majority "white"/white collar customer type of club

If you don't want to go the surgery route and ure just starting, you'll prob get hired at an urban club first, but every wk try ur hardest to get on at Option #2 ^^ type club!

IME at urban clubs AA BM (21+ to early 30's, dope boys, young up and coming rappers) were not my highest paying custies. It was the older (35+) AA BM, all ages of A BM (mostly West Africans btw), AM and WM (esp Europeans and Australians), again foreigners.

Also, try to work Day or Mid Shift bc that's when the older custies come in. Now dealing with older custies u need to brush up on ur conversational skills, How to Talk to Anyone: 92 Little Tricks By Leil Lowndes is an awesome book. :-)

Now one thing i will say that i appreciate abt starting off at an urban club is that it strengthened my hustle skills. I'm now one of the top earners at all my option #2 type of clubs.
