Hello Guys,
I was curious to know if anyone knew of natural/herbal remedies to end your cycle early?
If you tried any of these remedies, how effective were they and did you experience any side effects?

Nothing herbal -- but getting an IUD, once the breakthrough bleeding subsided, cut my period down from 8ish days to 3.

It was about six months, and irritating as hell but totally worth it once it stopped. On the plus side, although I had about 20sec of pain during insertion (just because my plumbing is at kind of a weird angle) I had zero discomfort in the hours and days following. Some girls I've known were laid out for a couple days while they adjusted. Getting it significantly helped the cramps and lightened my flow as well.

Unpopular answer- douching and some types of herbal tea, plus massage of the belly/pelvic area.
(Douching is controversial b/c it can upset the balance in the vagina. However IMO once in a while does not hurt...)
Once I'm down to the last 48-36 hours of my period, when the discharge is darker, it's mostly already degraded and no longer stuck to the inside of my uterus. At that point, it's just a matter of gravity and movement. If I spend the end of my period lying or sitting around, I can keep slowly leaking for a long time, sometimes extending my period to six or even seven days. If I'm very active, standing upright and walking, on the fourth or fifth day of my period, it will usually be my last.

It's on earthclinic dot com...I cannot recall. I know for sure raspberry leaf tea is used as a "uterine toner" tea (taken orally, not as a douche)…..I used to use it a lot when I had issues with a huge fibroid and it did help.
The problem with douching is unclean tools or too much of it/ badly mixed douche can cause a really unpleasant set of issues (BV, yeast infections, even PID if someone isn't taking good care of herself.)
I know you said herbal, but I use pills continously without having a "period" between packs. I just take regular generic pills and skip the placebo pills at the last week. The company Nurx sends me 3 months worth of pills at a time.
I wanted to add something regarding the douching issue. I used to have a lot of problems with BV after every period. I started douching with tea tree oil and if needed you can make a hydrogen peroxide water douche. I did it twice and haven't had issues with BV in almost a year. Anyone that wants more info can Google it, but I believe it's 1/3 peroxide and the rest water.
The tea tree oil douche takes a bit longer but I think most people feel more comfortable with that over peroxide

Naproxen or ibuprofen will slow flow and decrease duration. There's research you can find re dosage. Search on google scholar.
Not a fan of douching and never done it but I have used suppositories with vitamin e, coconut oil, tea tree oil to help keep the inside fresh as needed if I notice any unpleasant odor or discharge.
As far as ending cycle early - never tried it - but i believe birth control pills can regulate the timing of the cycle
thanks so much for all the replies everyone! :-)

I started using a menstrual cup and noticed my period ends a day or so sooner than normal

I definitely recommend the menstrual cup, too. I had very heavy periods for years after giving birth (3-4 days of heavy bleeding plus a few more of light bleeding) but since 2 years ago, when I started using a cup, I am only bleeding heavily for 1-2 days and then maybe 1 more day or at the most 2 more days of light bleeding. I don't understand exactly why but I am happy with it. Could be because, as it collects the blood directly from the cervix, there is no blood left on the walls of the vagina that combined with cervical fluid would look like you are still bleeding for a few more days.. I dunno.
