    Default Bartenders vs Strippers

With the overall slowing down of the strip club industry, I wanted to hear your opinion on bartenders/waitresses in the club vs dancers.

I personally have never danced, but was a seasoned sugar baby and also waitressed (not in a club) for a while and usually brought home $200 or more a shift.

I've thought about bartending or waitressing in a club and see what happens, as I have noticed that the girls in those positions have more longevity. This one girl has been a scores bartender for close to 8 years now and claims to make 6 figures every year. Her and another bartender from another club just took a multi week European vacation. I don't want to do this forever, need some extra cash flow for my business. I like the scheduling flexibility that dancers usually get to have but I can not dance for my life, and overall it seems that the bartenders are thriving with the new generation of SC patrons that come in. It seems patrons want more of the urban feel when it comes to dances as the years go by, and that just will never be me.

What have guys noticed in your clubs when it comes to dancers vs bartenders/waitresses?

Pro-tip...there are subreddits for bartenders and also Facebook groups. Just throwing that out there, since social media promotion is a huge part of night clubs and bars now.

Bartenders and waitresses can have more income annually than dancers BUT they deal with more occupational injuries on the job, more backstabbing, and more stress than the average dancer.

I know what I'm talking about, I've waitressed, bartended and danced.

Also since the IRS has updated their information gathering- most workers at bars HAVE to report all tips. It's the best thing to do in the long run, but it might not be the right thing to do for any given person seeking a job in bartending.

Be warned, drunk patrons FEEL just as entitled to abuse a female bartender as they might feel entitled to assault a dancer. One of my personal names for hard liquor is "Liquid Stupid" because for a lot of mentally unwell people, the evil come out in them after 3-5 drinks. Trust me on this.

Liquid Stupid LOL so so true. And yes, reporting tips is the smartest thing to do, when it comes time to get a mortgage, car payment etc. Lots of people shoot themselves in the foot from under reporting what they are earning.

Do you have any favorite sub reddits or bartending FB groups?

Re- reddit and FB- just type into the search bars to find the groups (I don't want to say more to protect my privacy here)

I will say, you will see some of the skankiest things ever as a bartender. I'll leave it at that. Plus a lot of bars (especially family run, or owned by knuckleheads) frequently abuse and belittle employees. I have soo many awful stories (several of my friends have worked as waitstaff, seeing as I grew up in a low income area. Some bar and restaurant owners are incredibly sharky or trashy.)

Ok I'll give it a search.

And yes, managers and owners of bars, clubs, and restaurants can be very shady or unpleasant, but such is life. I've seen horrible people in other industries I've worked in as well.
