One would have thought his parents would have known about him before this happened. I would have given him a bus ticket.

Lol.
I
wonder about the insurance, since he did it himself..
& why do that, then try to save the car, after it's been in water only up to floorboards it's done, this was nearly submerged, so totaled!
In 'Risky Business", "Are you the U-boat Commander"?
I always thought the Beams would cost more than the Jag.
O well.![]()

Wow. And to think… my parents and I bought a used 09 Cobalt for my sister, and she was upset because she thought it was too elaborate and expensive to just be given to her.

Ugh, I hate bratty kids like that! If he was my kid, I'd tell him to buy his own damn car then. You want a Jaguar? Go for it but on your own tab, son. He's lucky his parents even bought him a car. My mom and stepdad never bought cars for any of us. We had to work for everything on our own. Then again, there are 7 kids in my family.

There was a reality show, these kids were given elaborate/expensive parties, & yes they usually included a fancy car. It could be for a high school grad, birthday etc.
They would be a group of people gathered together before, but not everyone was given an invitation..
There was usually an elaborate way they were handed out, ex. one girl rode up to them on a flashy horse, one was in a gondola on a river, etc.
The party was on the level of a high-end wedding, included a fancy cake, well known entertainment, etc.

I knew a rich girl who turned down a free new car b/c she hated the color. Surreal.
A truth of life- sometimes "free cars" end up costing way more in the long run than just finding a way to finance a sale-able car.
I still have emotional scars from a freebie vehicle that was a nightmare to own. Soo many traumatic experiences there.
Pro-tip- You Tube has a LOT of video tutorials done by mechanics so you can troubleshoot before you take a car to the shop.
