    Default Question about FPS

I usually have a lot of sites running at the same time without verysoft or a webcam splitter tho. I used to could run 5 sites at a time without it affecting my quality of cam but lately its gotten to where I can only run 3 sites and sometimes only 2 without my FPS getting bad on cb.

The laptop that I run the multiple sites on is 4 or 5 years old and very slow when I start it up. Not sure if that has anything to do with my FPS or not? Could someone explain to me what exactly affects your fps please?

Would installing verysoft help with my fps, or do I need to call my cable company and get faster internet? I have 10 mbs upload now but I can go to 30 gbs upload but it will cost me $60 more. I don't want to pay $60 more tho if I dont have to? I will if it would be worth it tho

So is my FPS crap because of my older gaming laptop, internet, or because I'm not using verysoft?

Also my laptop has an I7

I think it's your laptop. If it runs slow - FPS will be low. Scan it for viruses and check your autostart - type msconfig in windows' start menu, run it and uncheck useless apps from autostart

Which list did u mean? The 1st list was for my startup tasks, then the 2nd list was of my processes running.

I guess I will be deleting mcafee tmw. Is webroot any better?

Also, I don't have a light kit, just recessed lighting and a 30 inch tv behind my laptops that put out a lot of light. Would my lighting have anything to do with my FPS?

ugh.....I'm hoping I am not about to have to buy another laptop right now, I just paid off all my credit cards ( $11,000 worth ) the beginning of this year and I do not want to have to use them again ;( I have another laptop that I use strictly for sm. This laptop is the one I use for cb, cams, cam4 and any other extra site.

The yellow task manager list .. can you scroll more and find things?
honestly, I dont use any of it bc sm is quick to scream turn off firewalls, I have webroot but dont use it.
I turn it on to scan
I closely watch my internet browsing and google does keep me from MOST suspicious sites. i dont click much
    I do not recommend this.

Yes, light kits do help IMO but Im not a light pro lol I just know I have issues when not properly lit.

Here's the whole list but I'm not sure what I can get rid of or not. I am about to delete mcafee tho. I cant figure out why my disk rate is at 100% now either?

Usually low FPS is due to low light. But I'm here for the disk issue. I had something like that happen to me recently on my desktop, only that in my case would be the memory going up to exactly 98%. Did this for weeks and it was driving me nuts knowing that I had enough RAM. Turns that it was because windows 10. I don't know why, maybe all those updates they are doing but I got back to windows 7 and that solved my memory issue. Meantime I bought more RAM but not going back to windows 10 until next year when windows 7 wont be supported anymore. I used 10 for two years but only a few months ago I had this happen.

Interesting, I don't think its my lights anymore either cause I turned off a bunch of my lights( before I hit broadcast) just to see what it would do, and my fps still stayed the same

How would I get windows 7 back on my laptop tho? when I bought it, it came with windows 10 so I can't just go back in settings.

I did google it tho. Were you able to go in settings and go back to windows 7 or did you have to install windows 7? Also if you did have to install windows 7, did you have any problems installing it?

I built my computer so it didn't come with OS. I have w7 and w10 on DVD's so I'll just install when needed. I had no issues installing w7 except that for MSI motherboards it's an windows 7 installation option that has to be enabled in bios. I'm no tech savvy but if your laptop came with w10 I don't think there's a way to reverse to w7 and since next year w7 won't get support anymore I don't think it's worth purchasing it now.

ETA: Curious what size is your HDD and how much installed memory you have? Also, does your laptop have a SSD or you have windows installed on HDD?

It has a 1TB HDD & 16 GB DDR4 Memory, 256 GB SSD but I am not sure where windows is installed? I will post a link below with the specs from amazon. How do I find out where windows is installed? Also when looking at the description on amazon, it say that I can go up to 32 GB in memory ( I'd forgot about that) but the laptop is 4 or 5 years old so not sure if it would help?

Windows is on SSD. If it didn't have a SSD would have been on HDD. I don't think more memory would help, in the picture u attached before, memory in use looks fine. I was thinking maybe you had a smaller HDD and maybe that could have been an issue although I don't see why it would have been coz...my knowledge stops here unfortunately. But I found these:

    https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge...dows-10-fixed/

    https://www.partitionwizard.com/part...indows-10.html

Seems to be a w10 issue after all, same like the 98% memory.

    thank u!

I'm going to try the steps in the articles after my virus scan gets done, I'm doing a deep scan on it now. Before you went back to windows 7, was it making you pc very slow when starting up? Also I wonder if the disk being at 100% could be part of my fps problem? My fps only goes to shit when I add to many free chat sites ;(

No, starting was fast. But after like 30-60 mins of use memory would have gone up to 98% and the computer would become too slow and not responding to any command and I had to reboot. And was doing this during my whole shift. I stream at most 3 sites at a time and it's ok now and been ok then as well regarding fps so I don't really have an advice for that, other than lighs, which u said u already added more.
