Lightbulb Do those magnetic lashes work??

I've seen a ton of advertisements for those magnetic false lashes but would they work for a club environment? The tutorials I've watched seem to suggest they work fine, and I'm sick of sticky glue tbh lol. But they also seem a little like a crappy "as seen on tv" type product. Anyone here use them?

I've tried several kinds. They do work and I love them. I have a favorite though - the ones that have the magnetic eyeliner work best for me. There are some cheap brands on Amazon that work as well as the expensive brands.

I spent $70 on those one-two lash ones and they do work but I have to wear mascara or they slide off my lashes because my own lashes are thin and silky. I don't want to wear mascara at all so the eyeliner ones work best for me.

they both take practice but the eyeliner ones were a very quick thing to learn. The ones that are just magnets and require 2 lashes sandwiched between your own took longer for me.

Okay this might be a dumb question but do you think the metal in my glasses would be a problem?? XD I'm imagining them popping off and sticking to my frames

No, the magnets aren't that strong. Only issue I've had with them is trying to put them on with metal tweezers. You have to get really close to them though before they will stick to anything.

I got a pair after a girl showed me how awesome her's were (she has never used the glue on kind) and I couldn't get them on to save my life. xD I guess I'm gonna be a glue on lashes girl forever.

    Same here.
I bought a pair, and couldn't get them on!
    Had to return them.
I was so hoping they would work.

If the ones where you sandwich your eyelashes between a set of lashes don't work for you maybe try the ones with magnetic eyeliner. They are way easier than the expensive one-two lash ones. I did use the onetwo lash for a few months before the eyeliner ones came out so I got my money's worth but I don't use those any more because the new style are so easy.

It sticks to the eyeliner, super easy once you get the hang of it. I got the cheap ones from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TKX4H2Y?th=1

Once you get the eyeliner you can use it with any type of magnetic lash. I've been using the Ardell magnetic ones and just use one set instead of two since I can just stick it to the liner. (Target has the magnetic Ardell lashes for $13).

Wanted to add to this thread - found a new favorite magnetic lash - Kiss brand now has 3 styles and I love them all.

    https://www.kissusa.com/eyelashes/magnetic-lash

The 01 length is good for daytime, 02 good for nighttime real-life and I love the 03 for cam (longest). I seem to need the longest over-the-top ones to show up on cam well. They are just the right size and so comfy when worn with the magnetic liner. I just use the top and don't use the bottom at all since I don't need to sandwich my lashes between them because the liner holds them on great.

Also I don't need to use mascara on the top at all. (I would have to use the mascara if I wasn't using the liner to give the "lash sandwich" something to grip).

Also when I take them off for the night I swipe them with a little alcohol on a Q tip and put them in their case to reuse. I can see these lasting for a long while. They hold their shape really well.

THANK YOU! I've been wanting to try these out!!! How do you do a winged/cat eye? Do you line where you want the lash first then apply it and then do the wing after? What if it gets stuck on the wing part can you just peel it off and replace it?

There are different kinds of magnetic liners so not sure about the others, but the one I bought makes a kind of rubbery line so it's hard to do any cat eye shape with. I just make a line with the magnetic liner very close to my natural lashes and use that to attach the lash and that way it's in the right position. It does take practice. If it's not comfortable and you can feel the lash it's not positioned right, should feel like nothing.

Then I do a cat eye or whatever other color of liner I want to add with regular liner. Seems to work best for me.

    ======

OK now that I've got more experience with these, I've discovered that just swiping with alcohol won't remove the eyeliner buildup. I put on reading glasses to see the magnets clearly and I use makeup remover (Garnier Waterproof Micellar Water) to take off the rubbery eyeliner that builds up, otherwise after a few wearings they won't stick.

I'm glad I tried the makeup remover because I almost threw them away, but now they are sticking tight, just as good as new. (Only $13 or so for the Kiss ones but still when I wear them every day I'd go through a lot if I replaced them often). I still have loads of eyeliner left so I don't think I'll need more for several months.

After that I still do a quick dab with some alcohol on a tissue to kill any bacteria that might be on them before I put them in their little plastic tray. I'm so delighted with these lashes, so fun!

OK Im going to make a new thread on DIY individual lash extensions but just to update even though I love the look and convenience of the eyeliner magnetics I don't like removing that liner residue every night. I saw a diy video for applying individual lashes with this new type of semipermanent glue. Seems to be similar to the sort you can get when having the lashes done in a salon. On to my new thread

I kept losing them during lap dances and they're not cheap. Now I just do plain old mascara.

not sure if this is still an issie but I've had ceramic tipped tweezers before.
I don't know what they are used for but my friend had them in their ecigarette
supplies so maybe it has something to do with that.

I tried magnetics and just could never get them to work well or look right. I am also back to using good ol' fashioned mascara.

For whatever reason I cannot understand for the life of me why I can’t be normal girl and put on traditional strip lashes with glue without looking like a damn shaking diabetic LMAO. I used to go to the mall and pay the Indian ladies $10 to put my strips on for me but looking back... It was sooooo not worth it at all they’d come off in 4 days. I’m so glad my sister bought me a pair of magnetic eyeliner Lashes. They are god sent! Reason I don’t mind it is because majority of eyeliner I use for some reason absorbs into my oily skin so when I put these on I can actually see it for the first time since it’s like glue haha. I know some don’t like it but I loved how lashes enhanced my confidence and honestly can never see myself going back to regular strips, individuals never have been my interest either.. Too much maintenance $$$$ if you want them to look professionally done. I need a sugar daddy to fund that operation lol.

Hmmm, maybe you haven't found the right lashes for you, that flatter your eyes? There are maaany forms and shapes, thickness and lenghts of strip lashes. There are tons of tutorials on applying strip lashes, I managed to learn and now I use them everyday.
also strip lashes should only last for a day, you have to take them off everytime you go to sleep haha )
You should try the eyelash extensions, if that would be easier for you. They last for a month
