Default Extremely tired the next day

    Hey girls!
I have noticed that ever since I started working, I get extremely tired the next day after I have done a shift at the club. I work nights, about 6-7 hours a shift. During my shift I drink, but not too much. I would say 2-4 glasses of either champagne or wine and I never take a break. Like I never go to the dressing room to relax or anything.
Anyway, I really do not think I do anything our of range physically or mentally. Just regular stripper work. But... I get very very tired the next day. Like I sleep literally all day and feel very fatigued and worthless...
My question is, does this happen to any of you? Is it normal or should I go get checked out by dr?

I feel extremely tired next day after work AND I cannot sleep more than 3-5 hours. I am wired up and exhausted at the same time. I still push myself to workout which results in even more issues. Working nights is just tough on the body, period.

I am pretty wiped out the next day, too. My body is sore and tired, and I just don't have much initiative to do anything other than lay around.

Even though I don't drink a lot (1-2 drinks normally), I find on the shifts that I drink NO alcohol and chug water after stage sets, I feel better the next day. I also got some bloodwork done recently and am vitamin D deficient, so you might consider seeing a doctor.

Night work makes body exhausted. It can affect your thyroid. Our bodies are meant to sleep at night.
Try waking up earlier on your last working day (around 11-12 am) to be able to sleep normally on the first free day.

It's mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting work, and the odd hours don't help. Just do your best to live as healthily as you can. Good nutrition, multivitamin, exercise, try your best to sleep as soon as you get home (consider melatonin or investing in blackout curtains if you have trouble sleeping), epsom salt baths, massages, etc. How long have you been dancing? Your body will get more used to it over time. Also, when I take breaks from dancing and then go back, my body goes through a readjustment period all over again.

Check your hormones. Blood and ultrasound. When they're out of whack you get super fatigue.

im the same way but I'm kind of used to it now. I would seriously consider all of this advice above: drink tons of water throughout your shift, sleep as soon as u get home whenever possible (don't sit on your phone in bed), see a doctor if u have one, and just let your body rest if it needs it!! If not, go for a walk outside.

It's normal to feel tired after a long shift, especially if your body is not used to it. I agree with the aforementioned posts; try to get plenty of rest, good nutrition, and stay hydrated throughout the night.
If you feel tired all the time though (not just after a long shift) then I would go see a doctor.

I mentioned the same exact concern on here about a year and a half ago. I can totally relate. On the bright side, hopefully your body is toning up from all the physical exertion. Just be sure to get plenty of rest, and get a massage every few weeks as a reward.

it's totally normal and I haven't really found a good solution in my 10 years dancing.

what makes a huge difference though is how much you drink. if I get drunk drunk, I rarely make it to work the next day. Unless I literally sleep from 5am til I have to go back in at 10pm.

I'm pregnant now and literally have more energy to work simply because I' m sober.

Go get checked out. Vitamin D deficiency can make you feel that way and the nature of night work is you don't get much daylight.n

Thumbs up Re: Extremely tired the next day

I’m amazed at the timing of this post. Perhaps it’s because of the seasonal change (What’s up East Coast)... Anyway I don’t drink during my shifts (Nude Club dry), but even when I worked in the topless bar I generally stopped drinking at work about 2013. That was because you had to be on top of your game on all fronts to earn. That being said, I don’t know how these women do more than 3 8-9 hour shifts!!!! The last time I could pull days in a row like that and feel good was only before 25. (That was ten damn years ago) I eat clean, drink water, have had extensive blood work and endocrinology for hormones and it’s all in check. As a ‘wisdom year’ stripper (if you’ve danced more than 5 years!) I will say that after a shift I would sleep as long as I wanted and not give a shit. That’s different as I try to wake up with the non nocturnals because there’s always shit to get ✅ done. If anyone comes up with the magic formula let me know. I will now list things that have helped me dance for over 15 years and not fall apart.

    1) Reiki: Find a Japanese Reiki practitioner. Not all are created equal I’ve encountered some scammers with this but the real deal exists. Try to search for Japanese Reiki Massage.

    2) That old non industry buddy that gets it and cheerleads you on. Having in my case a gay male college friend who you can confide wacky shit that happens at work is mentally helpful

    3) A tv program after work to get your mind off work

    4)Black our Blinds

    5) soundproof windows-make your bedroom a damn comfy cave!

    6) Yoga stretch that body out girl and those joints you’ll thank me later. I prefer non hot. Plus the meditation really helps. I didn’t understand it when I was younger but now I’m like ‘Damn girl! Learn to control your mind. !

    7) 2 week breaks about every 3-4 months. Yes I’m thinking ‘but I ll lose the regular clientele ‘ Sometimes you have to say screw it I cone first. What’s the point of working your ass off if your a burnt out mess and can’t enjoy it.

8 Dettol Antiseptic- Look up on Amazon. Put a capful in a bath when you get home. It’s used in British brothels. If you don’t have sensitive skin it’s great. Don’t be offended people whether your bikini GoGo or a nude stripper your encountering some damn nasty people and germs
