Default Advice On Finding a Photographer Affordably...

I'm a newbie stripper-hopeful, and I'm intending to break into private party stripping. As part of my application process for the private party services in my area, I need professional photographs. I'm a college student, so my funds to spare on professional photography are limited, but I also wouldn't know the first thing about finding a photographer to do stripper-shoot photos. I'm from the New Orleans area, if anyone has contacts there specifically, but would also appreciate any general advice on where/how to search.

I'd be so careful going about this. The motto "You get what you pay for" is often times so true in life.

It's a little odd that this private party service absolutely requires professional pictures. I would shoot them a message and explain your situation. That funds are a bit tight, and you'd be more than happy sending amateur photos. Imagine going through all the hoops to pay for a professional, then having them turn around and rejecting you! That whole point of this photoshoot is for them. Even if they accept you, are you comfortable with them posting your picture and face all over their website? Be careful, some private party companies are not ran by professional business people! They may do shady things like assuming it's ok to post the pictures you gave them onto their website. (A tangent, but one company I applied for said they accept customer payment through paypal-.-) Google facial software recognition is already making leaps and bounds. Do you want private party dancing haunting you? You're going to college, so I'd assume you want a vanilla job one day.

Last resort, I would be sure to google "boudoir photography" in your area and compare rates. You need a photographer that will give you the rights to your images. Imagine some guy taking your photo, using it in his portfolio and possibly selling it to others? Whatever you do, do not find some weirdo on craigslist. Find a professional who carries him or herself properly by looking for positive reviews and a professional website with links to their social media. Ask this photographer for a few referrals before you settle on hiring him/her. You're going to have to do your homework on this.

I tried sending what I would consider high quality amateur photos (not selfies, high resolution, positioning and environment good etc.) but they stated I needed professional photos. This company was recommended to me by a veteran stripper in the area who told me she had good experiences with it, and it seems professional. They don't keep the photos posted publicly on the website, rather using them during bookings when clients are choosing the dancers for their events. However, I do agree that it seems rather harsh for me to be required to go pay for photographs when I'm not even sure I'll be employed.

On the subject of facial recognition etc, I have a history in camming already, and my content is a LOT of places. Although I'd like to be as confidential and discreet as possible, to a certain extent that ship has sailed a bit, and I'm not overtly concerned with that aspect in this situation.
