    Default I left

I started dancing a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that I was waitressing at the nicest strip club in the City. I left back in July. When I decided to dance I decided to start off at something smaller so that I could get comfortable and get better I got hired at this hole in the wall amateur spot and I'm not complaining I'm grateful because I can get experience. That's not my style or anything like I'm used to but that's the point anyways I went into work today this was only going to be my second night because I was sick the past week and I got there around 8 when I walked in there were only three guys no big deal but then I noticed there were 20 girls at least and this is a small ass club. I'm all about staying and trying to make $$$$ even when it's slow. I just felt like that ratio was unrealistic just because that club typically only gets regulars and maybe a few visitors they also have a pool table which distracts the man half the time. I decided to leave and come back and work extra hours tomorrow. Now alot of advice I read said stick it out even when it's slow and I would have but there were way too many girls and barely any men.
    What would you have done?
I feel like it's a little frustrating for me because I used to work at the nicest club in the city so I know what kind of money can be made and right now I'm working at a hole in the wall spot just until I get comfortable. I guess my next question would be how do you keep a positive attitude working in a place where dances are $10 and sometimes they do them for 5. They all kinds of deal is that in the end kind of screw over that entertainer and give the company more money

I don't tolerate those kinds of ratios. It's unacceptable to me. These days I find clubs where they limit the number of girls on shift to a reasonable number. I can't stomach it anymore, knowing these clubs are taking house fees of unlimited girls while doing less than nothing to ensure they bring customers in the door, let alone enforce tipping (aka PAYING us for our work). It makes me so angry. 20 girls to 3 guys, give me a break. These clubs are shameless and don't deserve us. Find a better club. I mean I guess it all comes down to where you draw the line and if there are better options out there, it's worth trying them.

Girl! If a house fee didn't exist I would probably suck it up. I just looked at it like this clubs going to make so much money off of us and nobody's going to make money tonight and my boyfriend was kind of like what do those other girls know something that you don't all of these girls only know about these kind of hole in the wall clubs and I've worked at upscale clubs and know that this isn't how it's supposed to be. Thank you hearing your opinion makes me feel better

For sure. I have left clubs in the middle of a shift before, several times actually, if it appears that clubs are doing this. It's not fair to the dancers OR the customers because it creates an incredibly cut-throat environment, and customers are getting aggressively hassled all night because no one wants to go home broke... the only people winning in this situation are the club and maybe a few good earners. It makes me feel taken advantage of and it just isn't right. I support you walking out.

I would say one reason I leave those situations is that I am not a very good sales person and am pretty introverted. If there are enough guys in the club and a reasonable ratio of girls, I can make money. But in those environments where there are 20 girls and 3 guys, probably some of them stay because they know they can pull money in no matter what due to their having awesome hustling and sales skills. I don't feel like I can compete in those environments and more importantly, I don't want to. I just know myself and where I thrive, after having been doing this for years.
