Duh I don’t know pole tricks & want to go back to the club

I’ve already had my first night dancing at this club called onyx. It was a Thursday and even tho they said Thursday’s were slow, they really weren’t. There aren’t many decent clubs for me to try that are truly beginner friendly so I immediately started at an upscale one. I made $89 that night and on the fourth stage but I felt like the guy was tipping me because he felt bad for me. I was probably the only girl in the club who didn’t do tricks on the pole and everything I did was repetitive. Also I tripped while coming off the second stage.. I’m trying to go back this Thursday but I’m having doubts, what if the fact that I can’t do pole tricks is a huge issue and I don’t get any money or even worse, customers shew me away because I’m not like the other girls? Any tips for someone who can’t take pole classes on the regular?

I would not worry. Take classes if it makes you feel more confident but your money maximizing comes from stacking dances or getting into VIP rooms.

Pole tricks per se aren’t as important as finding a way to stand out. I’ve been doing pole dance for 11 years now - well before I started stripping- and the vast majority of what I do in the studio will never be seen on the club stage. And I’ve seen dancers get pretty creative in this regard. Like the one who went to Naropa and intends to open her own belly dance studio one day… she incorporated that into her stage shows. Others may not have moves, but they right the right combination of music and intensity in their sets, etc. Even then, if you don’t necessarily have moves but you don’t look like you’re bored and halfassing it, a good hustle will more than make up for it.

I’ve been dancing for years and have yet to learn pole tricks (although I’m planning on taking classes soon). It’s never affected my money. Sometimes I tell guys I’m new lol and thanks for supporting me and they tip just as well. That being said, maybe study some YouTube videos and learn a very easy beginner routine not involving climbing and complicated spins. Dance slow as hell and use the videos to learn how to step around the pole. And what Snuffle said is so true. I make my money on dances and rooms. The longer you’re doing lap dances or in rooms the less time you have to be on stage. I don’t know if it’s cost prohibitive for you but can you maybe pay to stay off stage if it bothers you so much? And just be a floor girl? Obviously you have to hustle to justify the cost of staying off stage.

YouTube is a great place to go to learn dance moves. Earlier this year I created a dance Playlist and whenever I see at least one new move I want to learn I add it in there. For example the video below has a fun choreography, but more importantly that girl with the hair that seems to have a life of its own.

This helped me. I also have another question. Say if I’m giving a lap dance or I’m in VIP or if you’ve been in this situation. Do they still call you up on stage? And what do you do if they do? I can’t pay to not go on stage, the house mom said it’s one of their requirements.

Is stage really important at your club? I don't do pole tricks and I barely dance, I just sway slowly from side to side and often just walk around the pole holding on to it. I am pretty good at using eye contact, though. This style works best for me personally.

It’s kind of important I guess. There’s 5 stages so people are going to see me do the same thing over and over.

You could be overthinking. I doubt customers are comparing how you dance on one stage to how you dance on the other 4 stages.

Maybe not but it’s still one too many stages and me having no decent stage set (in my opinion).

Your look and how well you can connect with the audience matter a lot more than your stage sets.

I don't do pole anymore. It doesn't change my money whether it's a stage club or not. I do a lot of floor work and sensual/sexy movement around the pole and it works like a charm...literally.

IMO, pole is like women buying beautiful purses - it's for show. No guy sees my purse and is like damnnn I want her.

Same for pole - I'm not saying doesn't make girls more money. Yes..The woo girls love it, the men love it, honestly it's impressive AF, some girls make a ton from stage in stage centric clubs, some guys will make it rain... but in a typical gentlemens club it's usually not enough to make big money...no guy is going to say "wow look at that trick she is the sexiest one here. I am spending all of my money in a room with her."

It just doesn't work like that. Stage is for attracting customers, creating that fantasy and hopefully grabbing some dances or rooms from there.

Now... Some girls are verrrrryyyy sexy on pole or just phenomenal on the pole and do an amazing job of alluring everyone in the room. That is what you want. But if you're just going to be whipping out wild rigid tricks, tricks/movements that don't accentuate your body but do the opposite, barely making any eye contact, not even close to sexy -you're defeating the purpose and working for your coworkers and the women at the stage if there are any. That's not using the stage to your advantage. There is one girl I see on IG (i think her name is simona) who is THE perfect example (to me) of what you should look like if you're doing pole or floor work on stage. She's amazing at what she does and is still very very sexy and hypnotic.

Make eye contact, smile, wink, be sexy, be sensual, bend over, do some floor work, be flirty/silly if that works for your look, etc..... Make them want to see you for themselves as soon as you get off.

    *side note*
-No one is watching you and keeping mental notes like that to say "she just did that on the other stage"..they're too distracted by your beauty and sexiness....and if they are - they're your coworkers! lol They don't pay your bills <3<3
-If your club has multiple stages then that is a good thing. You get more opportunities to get the attention of more customers and hit every angle of the room so they know you are there. When you're done, thank every guy that tips you if you can and that just might lead to a dance/room.

Hope this made you realize you already have exactly what you need

I invested in a more, ahem visual approach in 2011 and haven't touched a pole since unless I want to. I own a pole in my home for the same reason Donald Trump owns a Bible.

In the clubs I’ve worked at if you are in the middle of a dance or in VIP/CR you don’t have to go. Then again, you know how some managers can be crazy unreasonable so just ask beforehand. Or use the fact that you have to go on stage as part of your hustle. “Come on handsome, let’s get some dances before they make me go onstage”. Or “Ugh, another stage set. They don’t give me a break. (Look up to him with a cute and potty face) save me”.
