    Thumbs down Stealing customers

Long story short. I just started at this hole in the wall. I hate it. I'm use to upscale places. I don't think I'm better than anyone or anything but here girls eat pizza while on stage...dance in slide sandles ( like the Nike ones) and way more tacky shit. But the most tackiest is thinking it's ok to come up to a customer while you are with them talking about...gimmie your $$$...look at my titties...shit like that...and I guess they have me fucked up because I look 19 like them but I'm 29. How would you handle this? I want to curse them out but not stoop down to their level also do I address it in front of the customer?

Well I have had dudes throw cash WHILE I've been eating on stage ( one of my finest achievements ) ..... but that aside the real answer is to just do your thing.

Don't try to " class up " an already existing system. Just be the " classy " dancer is that system you know ? Then the right guys will find you in there somewhere. I hope that helps.

For those " poacher " girls when you are already sitting with someone ..... try death stares .... or say " we are busy here " if you need to get a little more aggressive. That is a really basic etiquette breach on their part ( lame ).

Don’t come out of character too much but you gotta nip that in the bud ASAP or they will continue to do it. Say it right in front of the customer too. Just be like “excuse me? We’re happily occupied here and what you’re doing is incredibly rude.” If she’s stuck on stupid and doesn’t leave I’ll take the customer by the hand and lead him to a different area.

Eat pizza while on stage, wearing slide sandals, that's terrible. I would not be able to work in a place like this for long. Even if I was making money.

    Duh Re: Stealing customers

Ah...about to get real passionate here

    Hate when that happens...

I usually just say "HI!" or "whats up!" (in a slightly can we help you tone) with a sweet smile, hand on customers inner elbow then I look turn to the customer, slightly shake my head and giggle (this is key - naturally he will smile back not knowing hes helping, she will feel dumb). It works I swear it!

but there have been times where they don't keep it moving... then I say "we're having fun, do you need something?" if that doesn't work, I get up, sweetly say to him "I'll come back to you", and walk away because I'm not a roach! And it's uncomfortable for the guy I'm sure. Sometimes the guy will have an awkward smile like "what do we do??!! Get her away"

I'll just wait 5 min for her to fail at what shes trying to do and then go back to him..cause if she is resorting to that bs to make money, her hustle is probably terrible. Or she can't make money with her personality or looks on her own. How many times has a guy told you he has been trying to get that annoying girl off his lap so he can spend time with you? bingo!! these girls are those types.. I want to say to all of them: "how about don't interrupt the man that is enjoying his time with the dancer he's with. It's annoying and he probably won't spend on you now. hello! or how about you learn to read their behavior. He's annoyed! customers don't like sharks...read the yelp reviews."

omgggg I notice girls in clubs ALL THE TIME that wait for you to do the work and see who's spending. Then try to cut in and offer some cheap bs to distract him from you because they can't compete. You should be flattered. It's annoying though.

    Later...

I would say "girl, maybe you don't care but you will never catch me interrupting girls with a customer. It's rude and stripper 101. I'm asking you to never do it to me again." with a firm, calm, caring but don't f*** with my money tone. And a smile!

Some girls really try to tell me its normal!!!! they are usually the ones who dance because they think its the newest hot girl instatrend

last resort: very calmly bring it to a manager's attention... but keep in mind this is bad attention from them for you. They don't want drama and they prob don't care. (some awesome ones do though..love them mean it <3 )

RANT - I have been to one club that was like that and as soon as I got on the floor and to the bar I immediately IMMEDIATELY went back to the dressing room, got dressed and left. Manager did apologize though. Regular warned me it would be drama for me. Clubs that let themselves go like that are filled with problems I don't have time for. And that behavior is usually accepted, there's too much drama, it's clique-y, and no one is working to bring or keep money in the club. And they ALLOW their girls to run new girls out of the club which kills the money! Wish they would learn you can't allow queen bees to run the place..they create drama. Situation you explained is my point exacttlyyyy. Some regulars even get involved because it makes them feel important.... then they have a different purpose for being there and it includes sitting around wasting your time, talking and bragging about how "in" they are there, and not spending more on you.

This has happened to me a few times and I usually Laugh at them and say something like.. "Uhh OK" or " So moving on.." Most of the time this makes it pretty awkward and the customer and I continue our conversation. Can you look for a different club? The eating on stage and wearing sandals thing is gross.

I've worked at a club where some girls do this. If I'm reading what you said right. Those girls do that all night, just flash and ask for a couple of bucks then move on.

Is that what they're doing? Asking for a tip then leaving, or do they proceed to stay and try to straight-up steal the customer and conversation? Just to offer a different positive perspective; if it's the former, I actually find those chicks helpful if the guy is being lazy with tipping me. You chime in and grab some of those dollars with her. Maybe use that opportunity to change settings, somehow. Say somethin' cheesy like if he wants to see more of that you guys are going to need to visit the lap dance room.

At worse if it's not helpful, I find it harmless... Even if the customer gets a little annoyed at having to spill a few dollars at titties, it'll just make you look classier in his eyes.

If they are trying to straight-up steal, I'm sorry! That's awful. I've never worked somewhere like that.
