Default Have you ever briefly been homeless?

I am going to be vulnerable here... There have been a couple of times I've been homeless while stripping... I am wondering have any other of you girls experienced this too? Or known a dancer who has? And then learned how resilient, strong, and amazing you are

Sending love to all my stripper sisters <3

I have. I hope you make it through whatever it is you are going through so this doesn't happen to you. And yes, I agree that you do realize how strong you are when you go through this. You are stronger than you think you are in this type of situation and learn to make it through

Once when I realized I had a shit ton of financial obligations I had to leave my apartment and move in with the parental unit.

It was rough cause I was working in adult entertainment and didn't want anyone to know top it off I needed to have mj so I was hiding two things from family while adjusting to not having my own space due to poor decisions.

It happens. It will be a learning situation and definitely nowhere to go but up.

    yes

then I lived in a garage with other people

then I lived alone and was always broke because I had 100% of my bills to myself and still kept helping people.

I had a bit of a savings but that disappeared within a few months after quitting from pregnancy.

I'm a cam girl but yes, I've been homeless a few times. Always ended up living with someone else and feeling like it was damn near worse than the homelessness. It makes me appreciate my OWN dirty dishes and my OWN warm blankets so much more.

I couldn't agree more! Right now Im very unsettled & have been bouncing back & forth between My bf's place & my other friend in the south & OMG I hate it! I'm also starting to experience it being not helpful to stay with people either bc when they start expecting money from you for staying for a month only & your funds are limited it's annoying AF. Passive aggressive behaviors start rearing it's ugly head alongside greediness.

I know i said I didn't wanna waste so much on a room per week but at this rate with no privacy & having to hear other ppl's problems all day long , i'm starting to see that it may be worth it for sanity purposes! I'm so fucking out of here.

Yes, I have been before. I was living in a cheap motel and was working just to pay for the room and buy food for my kid and I. It makes you appreciate when you have risen above the homelessness and have a more stable place. Looking back on those times I am so grateful for having my own place now and not having to live in a shady motel in an unsafe area.

Girrrrl, yes. I grew up in an immigrant family and still have vivid memories of the first place we lived in; three year-old me had to put a bucket in the living room to catch the rain whenever a storm passed through since we had a legit hole in the roof that the landlord never fixed due to our status.

Fast-forward to stripping, I've had nights where I was in between and not making enough to warrant a hotel. I'd find a travel stop (great place to camp out since they're used to travelers coming and going - people are always randomly parked here and it's super well-lit), put the seat back, and sleep. The next day I'd trek my stuff into the club at opening, handle all my hygiene stuff (shower, brush teeth, etcetera), and step out on to the floor glamorously as if nothing happened.

There's zero shame in accepting where you are and still loving yourself in spite of where you may be.

Yes. Lived on a raggety beat-up boat for 2 months in order to save money for a.servicable car and an apartment. That rust bucket is still on the waters til this day due it's being belonging to my brother.

I cannot believe how many other girls have had this experience! It's so reassuring, I remember I was 20 when I first started stripping, it was my first time making money and having my own apartment and I got so spoiled by it, only going into the club once or twice a week whenever I ran out of money. Eventually I got tired of stripping and needed a break, but I couldn't put my pride aside and get a vanilla job and start making a week what I would make in a night. That led me to living in a bus for a whole, HOT Florida summer and boy I wouldn't change a thing. I grew up so fast from that experience and now stripping is my weekend icing to my vanilla day job instead of solely relying on the club

I never have been homeless, but I'm glade you ladies shared this. it reminds me to not keep making the mistakes im making. I used to help other people and my now ex boyfriend, to the point i gave away over 20,000 over the last few years. I was assuming the money would come i was the #1 top earner there for 1 1/2 years my first two years, next thing you know i have a miscarriage, the flu, brochities, mono more mono another flu. Got cheated on got depressed got drunk got fired, got in a fight from an upscale club strip club, today I have $40 in my account. I have an account on a camming site i can get daily pay. but dam if one more thing goes wrong i would be screwed.

I was homeless for six weeks in the summer in Daytona Florida with my boyfriend. We were staying with friends for a bit but then we had to find other means of shelter. We would stay in hotel rooms here and there bc the heat was unbearable and my AC in my van wasn't working. My bf and I were sharing the van and all of our stuff was in it so we got a tent and ended up sleeping at camp sites for 5 days at a time and then get a hotel and then go back for another week and then to a hotel. I was stripping EVERY SINGLE DAY and was desperate so it wasn't fun at all. I was the only one bringing in money so it was even harder bc I was supporting us both during that time. Luckily I had lived in my van by choice at one point for about 6 months or so and I knew a lot o info about being homeless already

But it was horrible to have to go to bed at 3am and be awake by 9am bc it's 90 degrees out and you're sweating all over each other. The battery operated fans didn't do much in that humidity

Luckily Biketoberfest happened and as son as I made $500 we left for NY with our fingers crossed that my van would make it!

    It did

We've now been living with my family for the past year trying to save money.
