    Default Cheap Dental Insurance

Anyone know of a cheap dental insurance plan that doesn't make you wait 6 months to use it for fillings & a cleaning? I'm in need of a few fillings right now & def can't afford to pay the $100 a filling out of pocket right now unfortunatley.

I'm only gonna keep it short term as in a year until I get everything done then canceling.

CareCredit credit card- a lot of "Box" dentists use them, or offer similar financing.

Aside from that, you can try going to a dental college and have students do the fillings, as they are not that complicated compared to other dental surgeries.

I second the care credit if you can get it. Dental insurance is almost always total ripoff even through an employer. I checked them all out and I came out better just paying out of pocket.

    This app looks interesting though.

Ya thats exactly what I am thinking too bc most have a 6 month waiting period & hell by the time I wait it might turn into a root canal rather than a cheap filling. Plus by the time I pay insurance it';ll be the same price i'm gonna pay out of pocket anyways. Ugh. It really sucks

I think I'm just gonna end up paying out of pocket honestly, just focusing on one filling at a time & saving a copy of my x-rays in case I get work done at a different office that way they can;t charge extra for more x-rays.

If you're anywhere near Mexico, there are a lot of good dentists there, that charge a lot less for dental care than American dentists charge.

Is there a waiting period upon signing up to use it for fillings, cleanings & exams?

You can travel to Mexico with a passport card. It's only around $30.

I honestly have no desire to go to Mexico.

Okay. I'm not sure, but you may be able to get cheap dental care at a dental school.

    Exactly ^

In my area, colleges/dental schools too. One place gave me a list of charity organizations that do dental work
Long wait lists, I got an appt. thru a cancelation, but they weren't able to help me

Yes this is an option for me in Canada if I wasn't getting covered from disability. I would be at the local community college at their dental clinic.

Some dental college's literally treat and cover everything you would get at an established dental practice for almost 1/3 of the cost.
