    Default Under eye sagginess/wrinkles/skin laxity

I need some advise regarding a new development on my face. So the skin underneath my eyes is a bit saggy. I've always had a very young face but in the past year, I see that when I smile, the skin under my eyes folds. Note, it's only when I smile. There is literally extra skin there that I just want to pinch off. I had a couple of consults with plastic surgeons who told me that whatever any other surgeon may tell me, DO NOT ever get a skin pinch because cutting the extra skin would just expose part of my eye, which would look very unnatractive. One doctor went on to recommend a fat transfer to the face to fill out the face a bit, including under the eyes, so I did that. Howeve, that seemed to have improved things only slightly. I still have the folds when I smile, and half of the fat injected into my face will reabsorb in the next few months, maybe even more since I've upped my running routine substantially since the procedure. Another doctor recommended a strong peel, a TCA peel, to see if that improves things with the skin laxity. I'm exploring laser skin resurfacing as well. Anyone have any suggestions as to the correct course of action for this type of problem?

I want to blame this issue on the juvaderm I had under my eyes for several years. That stuff draws in so much water. I don't understand why patients are not warned about the potential for new wrinkling once the product wears off due to it's stretching the skin, much like breast implants stretch the skin and the skin is lax after the implants are explanted. Or am I wrong in thinking that past fillers could have been the cause, and it's probably my genetics and/or lifestyle?

Those pharmaceutical companies will sell anything and then if there’s negative effects they’ll blame someone or something else- I digress. If you think it was the filler it probably was. The doctors are sold the products and although they should do their research they are usually just going off what the rep sold them and their own experience.

I’m sorry. The undereye area is so difficult. Find a doctor you trust. Fat transfers are expensive, but it’s your own body tissue and it SUPPOSE to last years. I’m sorry, I don’t know what else to say. There’s nothing worse than having to deal with someone else’s mistake. I’m sure youll figure it out. It’s probably not nearly as bad as you think it appears to everyone else.

There's a magazine, New Beauty (newbeauty.com) they have a Dr. directory, & lots of articles / info about procedures

I talked to a doc about the same issue, and he recommended laser then the filler afterwards. I don't have the funds for that yet but that's what I would do if I had them. First, remove the layers of lax skin, laser helps build collagen, then add filler for volume.

That sounds legit. Real self is a great place to do research just as PSA to anyone who is interested in plastic surgery.

Hey. I have noticed some wrinkles on my face too, and they are really ugly. We have to fix it somehow. I guess that it's the process of aging, and it's a normal thing to have wrinkles at this age. Wrinkles and fine lines of the face appear over time following repeated movements as well as with the gradual loss of collagen. This condition can be effectively treated with neuromodulators. It consists of natural proteins that will attach to the muscles in which they are injected to relax them. My friend told me that he tried it at and it really works. The effect is very good, it makes you look younger, and lasts 4-6 months. I am going to try it too!
