Alternatively titled: Getting it TF up to go to work when I feel run down.
I've been a SWer for a while now and "getting ready" usually comes in 2 speeds for me: 1. Dry shampoo and run, and 2. 4 hours of bullshit. More often it's the former, but every once in a while the stars align and I have some time (or if I just feel so run down I'm gonna drop), and I'll go through a nice routine to make myself feel pampered at home before work and shut down my brain before it ramps up in hustle mode. I'm always looking for shortcuts AND more time wasting ideas. To be honest, if I get to have some time to make myself feel good and CALM I feel better, and I'm better at getting amped up to make money. Here's what I got! What's your routine like?
Short stuff:
- Dry shampoo
- toner + BB cream + concealer + lashes
- curling huge sections of my hair to make the process go faster
- grabbing a granola bar from my bag (i keep a stash because, well, I've met me)
Long stuff:
- Music or TV/audiobook to shut my brain off (for me this means no news, no nonfiction, nothing to make me stop and go down an internet rabbit hole)
- long bath with Epsom salt for my sore spots + body scrub
- clay face mask or peel/ something exfoliate-y
- serum or a gooey face moisturizing mask as after-care
- teeth whitening strips
- single use under eye de-puffers
- cooking something with protein and veg and eating it sitting down
- using the foam roller on my muscles
- plucking... stuff
- primer under my makeup
- light contouring, eyebrows, eye shadow, etc
- hand washing favorite outfits and re-packing my bag neatly
- blowing out my hair with heat protector and shine products
- a small spritz of a good perfume
