    Default Going overseas for surgery

Last night I was on sb tumblr and I saw babies talking about plastic surgery in DR and Cuba. I started researching the cost and everything.

As as expected it is way cheaper than the us but then I also started researching different cases gone wrong and how DR is one of the most dangerous places to visit.

But it of course theyll say that because if people start catching on then the American plastic surgeons will begin to lose money. Has anyone ever gotten surgery in the DR or anywhere else?

    what was your experience

FWIW I worked with a girl who had an awesome BBL done in a place close to the DR. However she said it hurt like hell and she was crying.

IMO I'd rather pay more and not go through that pain for a procedure. Just my thoughts.

They do the most aggressive bbls in DR and Colombia often patients go and don’t disclose their complete medical history so there are complications and they run the clinics like chop shops, several surgeries performed daily. Most of the girls at my club went to DR and they all look amazing the two that got work done in NYC & Miami look botched. I plan to go to Cynthia Disla.

^ I find plastic surgery in NYC not worth it. Overpriced for mediocre work.

No I personally would not risk going there.

From what I understand, I could be wrong but the medical education/expertise/etc of the doctors n the facilities there is not as high as the standards we have here.

If pre med students can’t get in to med school or docs who lose their license in US - guess where they going?

Plus what about after care n such.

What if they don’t do it right and you need revisions , you flying back over?

what if they completely fuck up? You gone sue them in the court over there n fly back n forth each time for court?

I think Kanye west mom died from PS she got done overseas

Yeah I've done it, twice, and might go back again. I go to Colombia. Never had anything less than a 5 star experience as far as my doctor and the overall trip. If you go to a good doctor though, it's not "way cheaper." It is a little bit less expensive but good work will still cost you at least a few thousand dollars for the procedure itself, then there's flight, hotel, nurse, driver, massages, etc. I found my doctor on Realself.

I had my bbl done here in Toronto and it 100% exceeded my expectations. I literally get compliments everyday about it

If you choose a doctor who does thousands of this specific procedure each year with extensive knowledge and happy patient reviews, you'll probably be fine whether you choose a surgeon inside or outside the U.S.

If this is about BBL, definitely ask what fat harvest method is used during the procedure as this affects the fat survival rate. Water jet liposuction works really, really well for BBL. The more up to date your surgeon, the better your result since it shows the doctor keeps up with latest technology and most likely cares about the results just as much as his patients.

There's an international board of plastic surgeons. I would start there and find a doctor in the area you're looking. The doctors have to meet certain standards to get and keep their memberships active. I don't think the USA is the only place that has good doctors, but I do think you have to be careful when going out of the country because you don't know what the medical standards are, and sometimes if there are complications hospitals won't operate on you until they've been paid for the surgery.
