Dizzy Dallas Stripper Breaks Jaw After Falling Off The Pole

    Y'all be careful out there!

    https://nypost.com/2020/02/11/dallas...ught-on-video/

A stripper in Dallas was recovering from a broken jaw on Monday after a terrifying fall from a 15-foot pole that was caught on video.

The dancer, who goes by the name Genea Sky, posted on Instagram from the hospital after a video of her dreadful drop from XTC Caberet Dallas spread like wildfire on social media.
“I pretty much broke my jaw and I have to have surgery on it,” Genea said in the post.
“I broke some teeth and I got a sprained an ankle. But aside from I got some stitches, but aside from that I’m good. I have no broken limbs, I walked away myself. I got up right after it happened.”
In the clip, Sky can be seen holding an acrobatic pose about 15 feet in the air before she loses her grip and comes crashing to the floor.
She mentioned that her job did not cover medical expenses and started a GoFundMe to help raise money for her medical bills.

“My surgery went well. My jaw is currently wired shut so please refrain from calling me as of right now and bare [sic] with me on replies because my phone hasn’t stopped blowing up,” she wrote.
“I was really nervous as this all started blowing up because people are cruel and this is a very sensitive time for me. But I never imagined so many people would stand behind me in a situation like this and that has outweighed all the negativity by far. I am beyond grateful for you all.
“I am in a tremendous amount of pain but I am ready for this road to recovery so I can get back to my life.”

Was horrified after I saw that.

Also if you are going to be doing elaborate pole tricks make sure you have

    Health insurance
    Disability insurance
Life insurance (if you have dependents)

So you won’t have to rely on gofund me because accidents can/and do happen

Glad to hear she’s okay and people have helped her with her expenses but it is reckless to be performing advanced pole with no protections in place.

Looks like she made her goal for her gofundme and then some which is awesome.

She better thank her lucky stars that she didn't land on her head and crack it open. Accidents happen but at the same time she has to take responsibility for her own actions. I mean what was she thinking getting that high on the pole with most likely greasy, sweaty hands from the working a long shift ? It was a bad move, glad she's okay though.

Whats crazy is she was in music videos performing so she had experience if she has been hired numerous times. A recent update was she won't be returning to dancing after what happened.

I've fallen from the pole twice in my life (all thanks to those who wear lotion, coconut oil, body oil and going on the stage). Falling from the top of a pole is terrifying and humiliating with a crowd watching you. Glad she's okay.

I'm glad she's ok too, but I've been thinking the same thing. Y'all who do pole tricks made me so nervous to watch. She could have died.

We have a couple girls at my club who do some crazy shit on the pole and will hang from the rafters and do pull ups and splits on them. I get nervous every time I see them because I always expect this kind of thing to happen, and we just have poles of normal height. Even if I could do these kinds of tricks, I do not think I would just for safety reasons. It really doesn't feel worth it for a few extra bucks a fancy trick MIGHT get you. I also have learned more time spinning on the pole is less time interacting with the customers personally anyhow.

Glad this girl is okay but man doing that kind of thing is not worth it imo.

I’ve fallen off a pole more than once, but I haven’t had any severe ones at the club. Aside from one regular who pays well to see it, because he likes the combination of heavy music and elaborate pole tricks, i tone it down quite a bit in the club. I’ve been doing pole fitness for 11 years, but I also keep stripper life and vanilla life very compartmentalized and separate from each other, and I really wouldn’t want to have to explain that to people on the vanilla side of life.

Especially after other dancers who use them. I remember having to go on after a set from a dancer who’d been eating fried chicken before her set (which, I can’t blame her for that… if you don’t live in or haven’t lived in North Carolina, you don’t appreciate the majesty and splendor that is Smithfield Chicken and Barbecue), but she didn’t wash her hands before her set. While she didn’t do any pole tricks, she did put her hands on them to twirl around them. After seeing that, no fucking way was I doing pole tricks for my set.

Doesn't anyone de-grease the pole between performers?

At my club, nope. We have to do it ourselves if we want a clean pole. They leave a rag and spray on both sides of the stage for us. I have heard there are places where it'll be done for you, but that seems rare and/or exclusive to more upscale clubs maybe.

Not between performances, no. It’s on us to do it ourselves, and I use industrial degreasing wipes. We can do it ourselves, but sometimes you just have those nights where you’ve got a tempo going and you don’t want to kill it.

Lmao I lost it. I'm gonna have this in my head every time I try to "sexily" clean the pole now.

She put on a show even after she fell. She’s a true entertainer but SO not worth it in my opinion. You don’t even see anyone tipping her in the end. Smh

I've occasionally seen dancers wipe the pole with a towel before they perform. Maybe you should do that. It's probably a good idea to also use Windex or some other cleaner on the pole, with all of the viruses going around.

Thank God she's ok. I agree with everyone else. Doing these Cirque du Soleil style pole tricks isn't worth it. The club does not care if you wind up paralyzed or dead, as long as the liability isn't on them. Of course it depends on the club, but ime, it's better to spend that effort trying to land lap dances. You'll easily exceed whatever you would have made on stage doing crazy stunts.

I saw it just now in another thread that OSHA will now require Strippers to wear helmets on poles taller than six feet? The only source I found was a publication called the KneeGrowNews. I'm calling fake news on this one.

As much as I HATE pics/videos taken in the club, this evidence worked out in her favor. I'm glad it wasn't worse than what it was.

That would be more of a satire on OSHA. It has long received criticism for its absurd rules.

I stopped doing pole tricks for this reason. It just takes up too much energy that could be used talking to customers and dancing for them. Then again there are clubs that are mostly stage oriented. But even then you can have a great show without doing crazy cirque du soleil tricks from 20 feet high.

A lot of (especially) newbie dancers assume they need to do these tricks to make money on stage or even sell a dance. A good show is not just pole tricks. There are plenty of more important things that make a good show: eye contact, smiling, slow and sensual floor work etc makes a big difference WAY more than acrobatic tricks that often go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Then again it’s up to the dancer, if she enjoys what she’s doing that’s great but I just don’t understand why do the most for a crowd to not even notice....until you fall.
