Default Anyone else thinking it's time for an exit strategy?

I would really like to hear other's ideas and collaborate on exit strategies from the industry.

I went from being a super successful top model on a site that started fucking the models over hard and I left after almost 4 years there, but i have been struggling ever since.....

I'm scared I won't be able to find a normal vanilla job now, much less tolerate going back to working for someone else for shit pay.... but it takes everything of me to spend 2 hours getting made up and "pretty", log in, smile and pound my pussy happily. I can't sit in a dead cam room where nobody is doing a goddamn thing for hours on end anymore. Went back to my old site and got a violation notice for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong and that was the absolute last straw with them...

I set up a model site through ModelCentro and the streaming functionality went down today ON MY LAUNCH DAY after weeks of setup, testing streams to make sure it would work properly AND lots of buildup on Social media..and a massive push this am to get regulars into my site.....goddamn fuck. I sat there and watched people bounce in and out because they couldn't see me..... support says they don't know when it will be fixed. Great first impression.....thanks Model Centro...

Got on CB out of desperation, actually had traffic and spenders and the site fucking crashed an hour later and I couldn't recover my momentum when the site came back up. Tried another site - no damn traffic... I'm literally losing my mind over here. I've tried everything, I've invested the last few thousands on my credit cards to update my equipment and it's just futile. Nothing is working anymore. I've just had enough.....

I would like to hear from models that have
    A) Left the industry
    B) Are in the process of leaving the industry and/or
    C) Who are in the same boat I am in and are trying to figure this out.

Let's collaborate on ideas and work together to help each other out.

    So far I am considering
ACX - Recording e-books for Audible (I already have most of the equipment anyway). This does take some time to build though so it's side hustle for sure..
Real Estate Agent - however, I am a bit worried that this industry is going through a change with all of the new "cut out the agent/commissions" companies popping up.....
Looking for a vanilla job - working on it but what I am qualified for isn't enough to pay my current bills....

After those, I literally have NO CLUE! I don't have a lot of time to wait while I'm setting things up because I'm at a breaking point financially. I bought my house 17 months ago and I'm going to have to sell it now and I'm filing bankruptcy in a few months and I owe the IRS a lot of money because I don't even make enough to cover my bills anymore so I can't make advance payments like I used to.....

Let's help each other get OUT!!

You should consider getting signed up for several temp agencies. That can keep you pretty busy and some even pay out daily. After you work those jobs you can get on cam in the evenings. This is a suggestion that can help keep your head above water while you figure out the rest. It sounds like you're not really in the position to start doing something brand new like building up a business strategy. Have you thought about getting a job in a restaurant? That's something you can do part time while still camming. I know you want to quit but you need the money sooo. Honestly I would recommend taking a job even if it's not paying lots of money just to give yourself a break from adult work. You're panicking right now and that makes things even more difficult to work out the problem.

Here's a thread where we started talking about creating online stores like Etsy, Ebay and BigCartel

Here's some other threads that deal with burnout and leaving.

ETA: That was a bit cold. I've completely been in that boat before. I got lucky that things happened that made life easier on me, but not before I begged, borrowed and sold a lot of stuff. I'm hoping with all my power that the sun starts shining for you soon!

I'm not long in the sex industry (Stripper), but I'm already looking for a way out. I tried following things making money online and failed in all of them:
    - e-commerce (dropshipping). I lost cca. 1000 $ investing in facebook ads and shopify membership and made only like 50$ lol
    - freelancing on upwork, but didn't get hired for any jobs because I don't have any feedback and am not like super skilled in anything useful
    - tried Instagram, but didn't get enough followers on my pages to get sponsorships (same with tik tok).

I am now thinking of starting selling eBooks and flipping things from ebay.
    Never giving up!

Maybe you could rent a room in your house to cover some expenses? Or try airbnb.

E-commerce is a joke - i tried that too a few years ago. So much of these markets/revenue streams are oversaturated it's almost impossible to get into unless you have a shitload of money to invest in advertise or can find some way for your content to go viral to get attention to your product....

Debated YouTube - again, everyone is doing that too, oversaturated...

eBay has changed a lot in the last few years and I think using it as an independent seller is a hard road now. I used to make about $1K a month there a few years ago selling things but it's so oversaturated with companies from Asia that can sell shit dirt cheap it's almost impossible to sell anything there now. I have a garage full of stuff that i used to sell the hell out of but can't sell more than a few a month now...I was only able to sell about 5 listings in the last 8 months when I used to be able to sell 15-25 a month....

As for renting a room, no can do. I have a husband, 9 cats and will still need to cam so I just can't do it. I have been considering renting my house out and finding somewhere less expensive to live though

I'm starting to think services may be where it is at now...... Topless housecleaning? J/K idk haha

If now everything is so oversaturated and cheap and we struggle to sell anything online, I wonder what will it be like in 2030

I'm also thinking about diy-ing furniture.

Good on you. I see too many people get into it and blow off or put off making an exit plan for far too long.

I just happen to know the right people to give you pointers on this.
Life asked Death, “Death, why do people love me but hate you?”

Death responded, “Because you are a beautiful lie… and I am a painful truth”

I’m a certified personal trainer, and I’m trying to do online personal training.

I’ve seen a lot of girls become massage therapist and do well.

You can take out student loans to go back to school.

Honestly I’m grateful to have a roof over my head. Most Americans only have a savings of $500 and live paycheck to paycheck. I just try to stay greatful I have a job that keeps a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I still dance most of the time.

An associate or certification can increase your earning potential, but not cost much and not take long. Also averting at a contractor for companies is a thing. Find products they want and find a wholesaler. Now agree on a low price if you get over a certain quantity in a year or you owe them the difference. Now go to tons of companies and offer the product at a small markup.
