I can fold like a book. Placing my palms on the floor while my legs are being straight is nothing. But I've been practicing for a while before the virus.
Great idea! I've started doing light stretches every evening. Ever since I got my dog and walk him at least an hour each day, I can feel how tight my leg muscles have gotten and I hate it. I want to start doing yoga again too.

Hmm, you may want to try this program https://www.fitnessblender.com/plans...al-body-toning
You can also have the workouts for free (find them at the workouts video section and filter them by your needs), but they are not organized in a calendar, for you to have the best results. It's $15 and I heard is awesome for improving flexibility.
I haven't purchased it, I did purchase other programs of those guys.

I did this yoga video today and it felt great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz5sO8b9G2o

OP, have you found any videos that you like?
I did this one tonight:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGJzZx4H2K4 although it didn't keep my attention completely, I paused a few times to look at my phone :/
And this one last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_xrDAtykMI
I think I'm going to keep doing different videos so you get different stretches and exercises. I'm going to try do a full yoga routine 3x a week.

I have taken classes with this instructor before and she's fantastic. Since my studio closed plus the virus her app is currently my only saving grace. I highly recommend trying her. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tapp.stretchit

I use ballet videos for my stretches! There's tons on youtube and they usually have comparisons for what the stretch will look like before you gain the flexibility

So I've been going for walks and then stretching afterwards almost every day. Sometimes I'll even stretch in the hot shower after my washing and shaving is done. Also been trying to drink more water. I have missed some days which probably hindered my progress but eh I'm trying my best. I don't see much progress yet because it's so soon but the main difference is I feel better. I mean the actual stretching sucks but when I'm resting afterwards I feel great! I have never been physically active growing up (aside from a lot of walking) never did any sports or gymnastics, nada. I was a nerd into anime, books and cosplay. I always sat around on the computer. So this is all like starting from scratch because I don't have the background a lot of people did. I'm hoping it's still possible for me to achieve the flexibility I want (at the moment just enough to do splits and perform certain pole tricks that don't look good unless you're flexible). Fingers crossed.
If anyone wants to keep posting on this thread their result stories, their own progress or hold me accountable. It's appreciated!!
I have been following a YouTube video for quick warmup, (after I walk or I'll do a little bit of it in the shower) then pinterest photos for stretching. I like a lot of the YouTube fitness videos but for stretches I like to have the photo and # of seconds to reference instead of constantly having to pause and rewind. The before/after ones are also nice because they give me an idea of what it's supposed to look like. Videos did help me get into the poses though haha
Worth noting, I can -just almost- touch my toes. Maybe that seems dumb to alot of people here but I was never able to do that lol! Yay for milestones![]()

I try to do this daily

I made a point of starting the morning with flexing and stretching, and also doing the same before any physical activity.
A lot of older people who still work out always say that flexing and stretching is essential to their overall health, they avoid sprains and strains this way.
I have to do this all because of chronic illness, but anyone with injuries or limited mobility should consider this too. Yoga stretches seem to be the most effective.

God this video was ROUGH. I halved the times cuz I'm a noob and I didn't dare attempt to get into the splits lol. It feels GREAT afterwards tho. Gonna attempt the whole thing tomorrow.
I seek to lose my bad weight. I just do a lot of the basics. I don't think there is anything special about this. I do yoga stretches and others, but they amount to the same for me. I can touch beyond my toes. I can touch the floor with my palms. I sometimes surprise myself, but it's really a lot of practice for me.
I've been doing this one lately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_tea8ZNk5A

Thanks for the inspiration! I grew up with ballet and gymnastics, and used to do a ton of yoga, but now i mostly weightlift and go for walks - I've really been struggling to prioritize stretching. Need to make an effort to start stretching before bed!

It's also good to warmup and stretch before lifting weights.
^Yes, i do warm up.![]()

That's good. You're much more likely to injure yourself if you don't.

Yin yoga is a fantastic way to improve flexibility is also a great way to calm the mind there many great classes on youtube.

My vanity's up and I'll do lunges & sumo squats in between blending my makeup. No joke, makes it way easier & goes by much faster.
Also yes!!, make sure your body is warmed up before stretching, or you can hurt yourself
