No, mine was " stuck " . My tax info was verified and they determined an amount.
Then the check took at least 9-10 days before getting mailed . At least it was FINALLY sent. I think the kinder thing to do is to include info such as " your first check will be mailed on xyz date " .

If anyone receives a letter that " determined the amount " , that letter is VERY good sign that you have made progress and will at least get a check somewhat soon.

I cashed the first two PUA checks yesterday June 19th after three months of almost NO income.
I was at a point where I felt 80% sure I wouldn't get any assistance at all.

Something to consider if you haven't applied is to try to apply soon . The $600 weekly pandemic assistance is set to end on July 25th unless another round is passed. As of today it has not passed yet.

So I’m pretty sure this is only for the people already receiving regular unemployment and an additional 600 on top of that. From my research, if you are ONLY receiving pua and did not qualify for regular unemployment, it should be good for 39 weeks.

oopse nevermind. Looks like the 600 runs out for everyone in July however we may still collect the base unemployment amount that was calculated for up to 39 weeks. At least that’s my understand now.

    Can anyone confirm?

Hi I called them last morning and it turned out that you were right and i didn't have anything to worry!! She said that they sent the letters just to say that i was unable to apply for unemployment but i am eligible for PUA. I was worried because i just now received the letter and thought it meant my benefits would end. Turns out it just took so many weeks to get to me because this overall process has been slow for many people due to the volume of claims. I am still receiving my benefits as long as i certify them every week. I get 300 for pua and 600 due to the federal cares act <3

Keep in mind applicants will also get back pay once you're approved. I just applied last week and after emailing proving my identity (I guess they've had issues with fraud lately lol) I was approved. I think I'm getting $3-4k of backpay too it should deposit tomorrow will keep everyone updated.

Got approved the other day. I didn't write anything "strippery" sounding, I just put self-employed and stuff like "gig performer" "entertainer at children's parties"
Not a complete lie, I used to do kids' parties and drunk assholes are very similar to if not worse than small children LOL

I got $1,400 and will continue to get I think $700~ a week until my club opens back up..
Nothing compared to a week of working at the club, but definitely not turning my nose up at it, during these trying times. Finally able to fix my car's window.

Will continue to update if anything changes!

Does anyone know if you can go back on unemployment and collect what I was determined eligible for originally? I was on unemployment for about 10 weeks, things started to reopen and money started to flow in again generously, so I didn't certify for the past three weeks thinking that I would be able to get off unemployment once and for all, that this thing was on it's way to being over and asked my accountant to reactivate my payroll (I have an s-corp, so need to pay myself wages). The stripping industry is so dependent on travel and tourism, which is still being severely effected. Plus, it looks like things are shutting down again, AGAIN!!!!, just saw this on the front page of the local newspaper while getting coffee this morning, so I'm kind of freaking out. Can I start claiming again if things are shut down and I can't work?

^ yes Zero I think you can.
My vanilla business also had a false start where I felt like things were coming back ( but are not quite yet ).

I finally got my unemployment in a lump sum. I miss working though. Nyc won’t be opening anytime soon.

^I feel like they have to... The old white men in DC are worried about the economy so much, but the bottom rungs that the rest of it is built on will collapse if they don't keep extending some kind of help. There's millions of people depending on that money and they're basically going to rip the rug out from under them.

I keep seeing the argument of "The $600 extra is de-incentivizing people to go back to work" which is ridiculous. If you refuse to go back to your job, your employer can and probably will report it and get your benefits cut off. If you don't get called back to work, you are legitimately unemployed. They could simply reinstate the requirement to 'actively search for work' to negate much of that problem.

I saw a proposal somewhere that they do a $450 a week 'back to work' bonus. You'd get that on top of whatever you earned at work. I think that could be a good alternative for maybe a 2 month period or so.

I really hope so, this has been worrying me as everything in my tri state area basically just shut down AGAIN for at least another two weeks. Bars, restaurants, live entertainment....we are essentially back in yellow. I’m assuming they will open everything back up the second the $600 ends. It’s such a nightmare. I don’t want to be living off unemployment but I also don’t want to risk covid for the measly amount I would be making when things do reopen again under al the restrictions.

They better, give us something I don’t see how they couldn’t, I’m sure they will drop it from 600 cause all these people not used to making $ seem to think it’s a lot of help... I would much rather make my dancing income pre COVID but looks like that’s out for a while so...I think they will at least do like 400 or something ♀️

^ Selina that’s what I was thinking. Even an extra amount like $300-$400 if it isn’t $600 would stabilize .
I’m speaking about ME haha but also economically.
I personally think the amount may lower ( in a progression ) but the extra won’t be completely cut.

I mean, my state has the 2nd lowest benefit I think, $840 a week, which is a lot of money for sitting on your ass at home. The 'sitting on your ass at home' part is the qualifier for me.

Agree that they will do something in the middle and/or another stimulus check.

I am deeply grateful for the PUA assistance that I received. I would be way more in the hole right now without it. My work is somewhat seasonal so I still have a small hole lol.

If there's a time to work, it is NOW if the places in your area are currently open. As the globalist Imperial College of London published in March, the plan is for lockdowns to continue on and off for the next 18 months or more. This is not going away, and after the next wave of lockdowns, most Americans are finally going to realize it

Has anyone heard anything about extending pua? My state has rumors about going back into red and clubs in the state I work are still not allowed to operate. I do not understand how they can take unemployment away but not allow people to work. I’m stressing.

I've seen a few people say the Republicans who don't want to extend it are just posturing. Who knows though. Kinda hoping the Democrats dig their heels in and refuse to compromise, honestly.

I'm sick of hearing politicians telling people to get jobs. Bruh. YOU get a REAL job, you just got back from a 3 week vacation during a pandemic and are now going to get paid to sit in the A/C and argue about what scraps you want to throw to the rest of the country, you privileged rich pieces of useless dog shit.

30% of the country missed rent last month. 20% of NYC is unemployed. That's a LOT of people. There aren't that many jobs to go around, especially with half the economy still closed.
They also act like it's so easy to walk into Walmart & get hired when really places like that won't hire overqualified or educated people. It's not just low wage people that got furloughed. McDonalds doesn't want to hire a guy with a bachelors degree or that got laid off from a corporate position.

Sorry for the rant. I'm just sick of all of this shit. They spend 750 billion every single year on the military but god forbid they take care of the citizens for literally 9 months...

Why isn’t the government doing more, this is bs and y are so many people going to have to chose between risking there lives and dying or a small ass paycheck cause they can’t get shit if they don’t go back n work, other countries r so much more together than this

Not to mention the millions spent on corporate bailouts.

The Uber wealthy have not experienced any (or bare minimal) negative financial effects of the pandemic. They’re insulated from it all.
