Thanks everyone. I didn’t say anything because of anxiety about it. I didn’t really know what to expect with turning 30. But the tidal wave turned out only to be a ripple. So, perhaps it’s not so bad.

At work, they do something for everyone’s birthday. In the shop, you normally end up wearing the cake. Last year, they got the better of me by having someone from the equestrian center get me with it (it’s not something they do, so I wasn’t expecting it from one of them). This year, I was wary of it, and especially of the Irish woman, since I’d seen some of the shop staff talking to her earlier in the week. So I was scanning the crowd, standing next to “The Grizz”, trying to figure out who it would be. Then I see something to my right, so I look over and see this big meaty hand with a slice of cake coming from behind me, and then *SPLAT!*. The Grizz, of all people. Completely out of character for him. Not only that, but it’s also the first time I’ve ever actually seen him laugh. He’d always give a brief and gruff indication to show amusement, but to actually laugh?

2020 is one hell of a year.

Happiest of belated celebratory huzzahs in acknowledgement of your birthday.

    Hope you had a blast.

    wishing well..

BTW, while we are on the subject, is it needed to point out the obvious: That it is just possible that if you are willing to judge the worth of someone simply by what you read on a website about them it might say a whole hell of a lot more about you than it says about the person you are judging?

If I don’t like them, I’ll have to start asking to speak to the manager.
