I hate things like this. It really gets to me as I have to keep my ideas about the moral side of camming very very compartmentalised. The 'sexworker' me is very very much of the opinion, they know what they're doing, I'm here to get my bag and that's all there is to it. If they get in too deep it's their problem. They know we're here for the money, we know they're here to get off, simple.
But 'me' is a very different person who cares deeply about others and hates to think of someone getting in so deep it affects their life, their relationships, their bank accounts.
I literally make my whole living off making guys so addicted and obsessed they can't live without me. Yeah... Best I don't watch this all the way through lol, the cognitive dissonance is real!

I know All the years of therapy I did ... OMG so much growth I did. so I understand the caller side but I also dislike the answer given because it keeps pushing the narrative that I hate and that creates the us vs them.
Which is funny this John Delony guy says you don't want to talk in a us vs them narrative but he is right here. so many things he said about cam models is just misinformation that paints us as a villain
So when I look at setting good habits over other habits. I won't call them bad habits because all habits are on a spectrum of healthy routine to obsessive or compulsive. it reminds me to take care of myself and not feel addicted to the job.
I followed Dave Ramsey to get myself out of debt, start building my emergency fund, and now I am investing for retirement living whatever that will look like and many of the calls that are webcam related weather its online dating or a webcam site are always in a negative agenda. but I take the information I need related to my life and ignore the rest.
The more "normal" webcam becomes the more someone out there wants to paint us as the villain
When it comes to the job
It's a computer and internet that runs 24/7 no breaks unless its an internet or power outages. Pretty much someone is always there to spend money in some way. So if you can balance your life in a healthy way then go for it. There is plenty of help out there for people who feel out of control in any area of their lives.

Ok so I didn’t watch this very intently, I skimmed over it. I’ll watch it properly later.
Obviously it’s our job to keep these guys coming back as much as possible and create lots of regular and repeat business. The same with pretty much any business, surely not? Under general circumstances, I don’t really think it’s our “fault” or our problem really if these guys get addicted. We can’t live our lives pandering to the possibilities of addictive personalities, insecurity, loneliness, mental health issues, etc etc that lead to addiction. It’s not our job to be their counsellor. We do our jobs as cam models/content creators and that is that.
HOWEVER, I do think we have to take some responsibility for our own actions aswell as I certainly don’t think these men should be exploited.
There a difference between doing your job and creating a fantasy, to outright exploiting these guys, examples being taking advantage of guys who clearly aren’t of a fit mental capacity, telling customers you’re in love with them, leading them on to believe you could meet one day or that you’re in a relationship/could be in one, or deliberately blurring any other grey areas to keep stringing them along.
I think there’s a difference between a regular who loves your company and fantasises about being your boyfriend, and a customer who’s clearly very unhealthily obsessed to the point it’s clearly causing problems. I personally wouldn’t want to carry on dealing with the latter example.
If someone was deliberately exploiting people, crossing clear grey areas and stringing guys along to make them think the transaction is more than it is, then surely that would make them part of the problem?
But there’s people out there getting morbidly obese from eating too much food. That’s not a restaurants fault or food shops fault is it? It’s down to the person who’s eating and buying the food.
i believe most clients fall into the average working class category, they like to spend their money on us instead of going on dates, buying things for themselves, going to the movies, going out to eat ect. for them it is a form of entertainment. are men addicted ? yes sure, i had 1 client that was 4,000 in credit card debt just from cam sites.
one time they even went as far to open another line of credit and buy tokens the next day.
for me personal i dont really have regular clients. i usually have mostly 1 or 2 time visitors . i have only maybe a small hand full of regs and even then they arent huge spenders.
my few pay pigs just come visit me once every few months at most.
its like a spa for them, a treat,
we get our hair done, spa, our nails done, shopping, shoes, skincare, accessories, tampons, birthcontrol ect. ect. ect. these are all extra expenses women have NOT TO MENTION THE PINK TAX!
and these are requirements society puts on us. via social pressure.
men do not have to worry about all of these costs.
so they have more income to spend. so they spend it on us . like a treat .
good for them.
we all have free will to earn and spend our money as we please.
this is just another way that society or men want to BLAME us for their actions.
we tempted them, we seduced them. we MADE THEM DO IT. its all our fault!!!
they are "addicted" its an "illness" we are using them.
their poor little addicted souls .. booo hooo..
yet its somehow normal for a guy to go out and piss away $$$ on their video game systems and setup and buy little in app purchase.
but thats no in way a waste of $$ or an addiction.

Ill be honest Ive not watched the video itself, but blaming the worker for an addiction isnt really on. my background is psychology, addiction is a real disorder and 9/10 isnt about the thing the person is addicted to.
I also have my own history with alcohol, I wouldnt say full on addiction but I was getting there - and it wasnt on the bar tender who served me, or the shop who let me buy wine drunk and/or hungover. blaming the person providing something that is/could be addictive just shows an inherent misunderstanding of how addiction works. but hey people want sex workers to be evil so will push the narrative anyway
I absolutely agree with this. I'm so happy you overcame it, I did too. It had nothing to do with the the addictive substance but instead the mechanism for coping for underlying issues.
I have and had whales that are so addicted to my cam persona that they spend more than I believe is healthy. I've figured out a camgirl hustle that is so effective at maximizing my profits, but also will dig a cam porn addict deeper down their own rabbit hole. Sometimes I feel guilty. Other times I figure, if I didn't play the game to my advantage then they would simply just take advantage of me. In fact, they used* to take advantage of me all the time. Lets say I decided to cut of a guy cause its becoming too unhealthy of an addiction, hell they'll just go to some other camgirl. They may as well spend it on me, cause I spend their money better anyway. At a deeper level, I feel like these *deeply addicted* men could be spending that money and time on their kids, wives, advancing their career, doing something better. I want to cut em off, but I wont. Cause, well, I love cam girl money. Just like alcohol is good in moderation, so is camporn. I don't know if I feel right deep down though. It's a weird conundrum. I'm holding two opposing thoughts in my head at the same time.

These are grown men. All they have to do is turn off the computer.
Unless a camgirl is pretending to be in love with a customer I see no issue with our jobs. Even then, it's incredible to me someone could be stupid enough to believe a woman "loves" him when he is paying per minute even to speak with her.
another thing I wanted to add - men are going to masturbate to you whether you are paid for it or not. I have worked customer service jobs and been constantly sexually harassed. They will make comments on your lips, face, cleavage, feet, anything they can see or imagine seeing, then go home and wank to it. At least now I'm getting paid for it.
Men only whine and complain about it when they aren't getting it free.
