Then, thinking he was inebriated, (he was on the ground (blood coming out of mouth & ears) delayed getting help.

Maybe don’t throw chairs around at concerts? I go to heavy metal and hardcore punk shows all the time (or I at least did before the Rona), and at my massive 4’11” stature, I’d always jump into the pit. Got plenty of bruises from it, but nobody died in those.

That’s actually my second date idea. If they won’t get in the pit with me, they’re never paying a hand on me. Problem is finding someone who makes it to the second date.

I caught that. I just go to much more violent shows than Dave Matthews, and we don’t necessarily leave unscathed, but never any shit like that.
I got to meet Dave Matthews once. He struck me as incredibly bland and pretentious.

Back on topic, I don’t really see this as a reason not to go concerts, unless you were just following along with the “this is why I don’t…” theme of the other topics. Especially if you drive… this story, this was a fluke. A careless and negligent one, but still a fluke. How often does this really happen? Doing a quick search on Google, it looks like there might be about 45 deaths annually at music festivals, and I don’t see any breakdown of causes, so you factor in things not only like this, but I’m sure self inflicted reasons are included in that (amd I’d even speculate would probably be the bulk of them) such as drug overdoses, climbing onto pillars and falling, etc.
2019 stats show an estimated 38,800 fatalities due to car crashes and about 4.4 million injuries requiring hospitalization. I still drive every day. I certainly wouldn’t stop going to concerts over this.
