I do Well Im not a dancer anymore but I use it for cam & in my day to day life. I found an amazing black liquid eyeliner that works just as good as the drugstore brands & lasts as long. NYX is usually my go to. ELF is cool too. I also like their makeup remover wipes for $1

Giiirl, stop using makeup remover wipes. They are not the best friend for the skin. Better use classic cotton pads and makeup remover.
I use oily makeup remover for eyes (Either Garnier or Nivea) and micellar water for the rest of the face, from Garnier. Best shit evveerrr!!!!
Oh and I like those huge square makeup remover cotton pads, i don't like the small ones ))

    No.
There was just an article about Marshalls, TJMaxx, Ross, beauty products already expired being sold in the store.
$ store too. No, didn't save that article.
Also, if you.shop Ulta/Sephora in store clearance, (even the so called 'new' products, you may get something previously used/returned.

Which, depending on what type of product it is, & where it's used (eye makeup'd be a no for me) may not matter to the buyer of it.

Technically , they're not supposed to sell it, j/s.

Fwiw, I use coconut oil to remove eye makeup, face too. But, my skin's dry

Not Dollar Store but I wear almost exclusively drugstore stuff. Usually purchased from Target or Ulta.

ELF has $3 liquid eyeliner that stays on like nobody's business. It's gross but I have definitely worn it to work and then slept in it and it hadn't budged in the morning. I used it on my friend for her wedding & she texted me later "How do you get this shit off?!"

I also love their $3 Bite Size Eyeshadow in Rose Water, it's super pigmented and gorgeous. My all-time favorite lipstick is their Matte Lip Color in Scarlet Night ($4). Formula is perfectly between "too soft" and "too dry".

NYX has a dewy setting spray ($8 ) that I use to set club makeup. Their Powder Puff Lippies are fun too.

Wet n Wild is the cheapest of the cheap and the only things that don't suck from them are the kohl eyebrow pencils.

Milani has a great pencil eyeliner (Stay Put) for like $8. It's the only one I've ever had NOT run from my waterline.

I do love Elf, very affordable, great stuff.
Love the eyeliner pencil w/built in sharpener.
I have a few of their brushes.

I certainly used less expensive makeup, but not necessarily dollar store. Target and Ulta were also the places I’d go for makeup from the club. I also found some at either BJ’s or Costco (one or the other, I don’t remember) that was really inexpensive and worked surprisingly well.

I have a bunch of dollar store nail polish, though. But I almost never wear nail polish. When doing electrical diagnosis and repair, I’ll sometimes Pierce a wire to test for power or signal at a specific point on that wire… then I use the nail polish to patch up where the casing of the wire was pierced, so it’ll remain protected.

Dip strike anywhere matches in nail polish to waterproof them.

I often see elf and wet'n'wild at the Dollar Tree which are good brands!! They always have the pink and white wet'n'wild makeup brushes which perform well and look cute on top of my vanity

They also have eyelash curlers, disposable makeup wedges, tweezers, and makeup pouches all for $1.

Recently I've also seen sugar body scrubs there, which I like to use to exfoliate my legs before shaving.

Thankfully there are youtube tutorials for that now

But i'll use at least high end foundation because I've really seen a difference in my (acne prone) skin when you wear it night after night!

Yeah one of the risks of getting makeup at discount stores is it can be on the cusp of going bad. Most of the time it's just cheap stuff discounted. I've found the occasional neat thing at Dollar Tree but that is only once in a while.

How would we know if it's expired or not? I've found some of the good brands I use at TJ Maxx. Wouldn't eyeshadow palettes be better to buy than foundation from there?

They should have an expiration date on there, they may not tho.

I don't think I've looked, personally. Haven't bought makeup there.
I find $ stores shady, some won't give refunds..I get it, its the $ store, that means you can sell me shit & get away w/it?

I bought a gal. of water 2.00. I set it on the floor of my car, it was leaking (by the top opening). Spilled all over my car. Nice.

What do you wanna bet they'll make me exchange it for another, which I don't want

I totally get it. Darn! I stocked up on 2 makeup sets at a discount place (TJ MAXX) thinking I was getting a deal...but now, who knows why? (part of me worries they release it with the expiration date at last minute/expired/ or something. No clue if they do. I wish they did a documentary on this so we can be informed. I've only ever used ELF brand and the wetnwild brushes they sell there. They're decent. I'm not crazy about the L.A Girl brand they sell there bc it just doesn't apply that well from my experience. I think drug store brands are a bit better IMO.

I love drug store brand makeup...I used to be all about Sephora and expensive makeup, but I'm so over it! My makeup bag is now almost 100% drugstore, and my makeup game is better than ever now. I love NYX concealer and foundation (the glow collection), the Maybelline lifter lip gloss (that looks just like Kim K's), and I've been using Loreal's Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black for ages!

I feel like the expensive stuff is overpriced and not as good as my drugstore favorites. I personally don't like dollar store makeup though, they're all generic no name brands that are cheap and poor quality and do not blend well.

I do think that drugstore makeup has really 'upped its game'.

I have a few Elf products, some brushes, & their pencil eyeliner w/glitter & built in sharpener is great, + so affordable.

I want to get their cream blush, it has tb ordered tho.

I really hate the fucking $ store, I got a gal. of water there, $2.00, & the top leaked, spilled in my car, I bought a sheet set on clearance that was overcharged, a mattress cover that's the wrong kind.

I have the receipt, but it's now closed due to Covid? There's another one (different co.) right across that's open.

So now Im stuck w/$11.00 of shit I cant use.

Yea the only thing I really splurge on that's high end is primer & foundation cuz I have acne prone skin and stick to stuff that won't break me out. Also Milk Makeup Kush Mascara, which is my holy grail for mascara that I will buy until the end of time. Everything else is fair game. Drugstores have HAD to catch up in quality due to many factors.
Also TJ Maxx/Marshall's can have really good deals on overstock makeup, I got Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette for $20 there (retails $49), I love it.

I'm obsessed with Colourpop the most, like 80% of my stuff is Colourpop, they have the only highlighter that shows up on my pasty ass skin (Flexitarian), REALLY good affordable eyeshadows, and lip products (the plumping glosses work and are sooo pretty looking, even customers have complimented me on my gloss LOL). I can't think of one bad product i've gotten from them, tbh.

Nail polish remover... just get a large jug of acetone from the hardware store, it'll last for years. Unless you use the acetone-free brands, you'll discover that it's acetone with some perfume added.

The cashier kept pushing me to do an exchange for the water, which I did, then she kept telling me it wasn't the store's fault?
Anyway, fuck the $ stores, maybe ok for a few things.
