I didn't until I looked up the lyrics for "What Would You Do?". Were they a one hit wonder?
"The prize never goes to the fastest guy, it goes to the guy who slows down the least."

I loved that song when I was some dumb kid. I once saw a girl dance to it at this shit hole club and I was astounded.
"There are different kinds of darkness. There is darkness that frightens, the darkness that soothes, the darkness that is restful. There is the darkness of lovers, and the darkness of assassins. It becomes what the bearer wishes it to be, needs it to be. It is not wholly bad or good."

I enjoyed watching that clip. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the song. I was only 8-9 at the time, and pretty far detached from pop culture.
Written on the walls at the house of sorrow
You can find the names of those who burned
Greater yet, the pain in little drawings
I could not remain in that room

They were one hit wonders. I love Amber’s commentary on how sex work is work. I’m trying to think of other songs about sex work that are really lame when you actually dissect the lyrics. Mostly, I thought it was cool someone said sex work is work on a mainstream media. Although, she did use a dated reference.
I think Cardi B is to most up to date pop culture reference, but even she has had a lot of backlash for WAP.
It seems most media either glorifies sex work or it’s the victim narrative. Damn most of us live normal boring lives.
Strippers, gold diggers, prostitutes ... you’re all queens for surviving in a system that’s meant to keep us down.
