MANY MEN WANTED TO LAY ME DOWN, BUT FEW WANTED TO LIFT ME UP
-Eartha Kitt

Bread and water for you, kid.
Written on the walls at the house of sorrow
You can find the names of those who burned
Greater yet, the pain in little drawings
I could not remain in that room

Seems ridiculous that the mother is trying to blame the company.
The kid is 6. There is no way in hell I would have allowed my kid access to buy game upgrades. You can't expect a first grader to understand that and be responsible in that way.
I buy game upgrades sometimes but every single purchase requires either my thumbprint if purchased from my phone or if purchased from my computer a pin number has to be input every single purchase. I also have a monthly budget and get a warning if I ever go over that amount in 1 month.
She should have secured her account. It's simple and quick to do.
^ Right. I could see a one-time small charge going unnoticed until mom checks her bank statement but $16k? The mom was obviously not tracking her finances very closely. How in heck would a 6 year old know how to put credit card information in, unless it was an autofill type of situation where she had her credit card information stored on the device. She should've had the alerts set up with her bank and removed credit card information from whatever device he was playing on. Having stored credit card information on any device that a child has access to never ends well. I learned that the hard way after my oldest bid and won $200 in toys off of eBay when I had forgotten to sign out.
