Chicken feathers? Eating them??? Not I.

This is Thailand. They'll eat anything, even insects, worms, and bugs.

I’d try it, but I don’t really see it taking off. Obtaining chicken feathers still requires farming of chickens, and people looking for meat substitutes in the West typically want something vegan (and they’ll make certain you know it). This would still be an animal product, so I don’t expect they’d go for it.

How about cardboard?
Cardboard is the secret ingredient found in popular Chinese snack
Last updated at 14:59 12 July 2007
A food manufacturer in China has been filmed using cardboard as the main ingredient in a popular snack instead of meat.
Chopped cardboard, softened in an industrial chemical and made tasty with pork flavoring, is a main ingredient in batches of steamed buns sold in a Beijing neighborhood to be sold by street vendors.

Protip- if you eat chicken wings the occasional pinfeather makes it way into your mouth.
Also any processed food product has a small percentage of insects included. (Not enough to hurt you, just bugs that got swept up during harvesting.)

I hear beetles aren’t so bad if you add a little ketchup.
