One strange effect of Covid is that it causes blood clots in some patients. The fact is that Europe is far behind us, the British and the Israelis in vaccinating. They do not have enough doses.
Pfizer co-developed their vaccine with a German company, BioNTech. BioNTech developed the mRNA technology used in the vaccine. Pfizer was not part of "Warp Speed" and did not receive funding from the American government. BioNTech did receive $445 million from the German government to accelerate development of the vaccine.

Yes and No. Pfizer did not take U.S. development money as did Moderna , Astra-Zeneca and Johnson & Johnson. HOWEVER they benefitted just as much as the other companies from the "fast track" approval process the FDA implemented AND they took almost $2 billion to supply their vaccine to the U.S. government. All from a rare bit of journalistic honesty from the N.Y. Times and CNN.
Pfizer initially claimed they were not part of Operation Warp Speed then later admitted that the U.S. agreement to puRchase a vaccine they hadn't yet gotten approved by the FDA DID help their program and that they WERE a part of "OWS".
