Default Ever have a celebrity come in the club when you were working? What were they like?

    I'm curious about this!

I danced off and on for about 10 years, but mostly in small towns, so all I've ever seen were a couple of the Green Bay Packers. They were lame-acted like they were too cool to be in there and didn't spend. lol Would love to hear stories about the good ones (and the not so good ones too lol).

I think there is an old thread on this topic if I can recall.

Celebs at the club? Not in the sticks here.

Probably a more common occurrence in places like ATL, NY, Miami, LA, Dallas, Houston , Vegas, etc.

There were a couple times when members of the Carolina Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes came in. The football players, I wasn’t terribly impressed with. They’d spend a lot of money on drinks, wear lavish clothes, but typically just wasted your time. Once in a while one might make it rain in order to flex, but they carried a serious air of pompousness and entitlement about them, and they’d get irate pretty easily.

The hockey players were a mixed bunch. The Russians tended to be a bit brash. Finns and Canadians tended to be polite. Native-born Americans could go either way. They tipped generously… nothing life changing… and were generally more respectful than the football players.

Yes, they all suck. Many many many experiences in my ten years in nyc but they never really spent. Except one black actor, he enjoyed doing the private rooms with many girls for hours but majority just like to sit around , drink, and have all the girls fawn over them for no money. Oh one Carolina panther came in with a book bag full of $100s and threw NOTHING. JLO and AROD came in to study for her role in hustlers and only drank water and didn’t spend much on the girls. None of the girls at my club told me they made anything off them.

It’s not uncommon for celebs to go places n get comped

So the trade off is they get free food n drinks etc in exchange for their “presence” which bring in more of the regular paying customers who want to clout chase n meet a celeb.

Although they probably have plenty of money to spend if their mindset is “I’m a privileged celebrity, YOU cater to me” then they are just as worthless as the “furniture” lol. But if their mindset is “hey I’m here to have a good time n support some strippers” then you’ll go home with lots of money that night.

I didn’t personally experience it, but read a discussion a few years back on Tumblr of dancers complaining about rappers as well. Their songs are all about throwing bands but when they are actually at the club most (not all though) were entitled and not throwing anything and not doing anything their songs would suggest.

I wasn’t there but I found it believable.

Generally speaking, maybe yes. I also think your expectations as a dancer also may play a role here (not necessary you arielbriel!).
That said, there’s definitely nights with some known musicians/rappers in private rooms which ran so fucking wild I’ll never forget.

The last one before I left dancing was a lakers player. Tried to hit one of the dancers up for 150 bucks for sex apparently hahaha. I sat on his lap for 5 minutes, he just wanted to sit and be cheap watching the stage and I asked for a tip for my time. Got 75 bucks. Guess I was the only one LOL.

Not gonna name him but a really famous rock musician (he's from the West Coast.) He got all awkward/bashful when I recognized him and he left the club immediately.

Celebs just wanna be Anon D00d punter when they patronize adult entertainment establishments.

The IT actor was the most annoying. Lol. He came in super drunk. Almost took me into a vip, but he was too much to handle. He gave me the crazy look and snuck a quick tap kiss on my lips. Haha. I don't know like dancing for celebs either but when I sat on his table it took me like 2 minutes to realize who he was. It was also a very slow quiet night.

    Sting was nice. Gentleman.

I had a cool experience once. I'm a huge fan of Martin Scorsese movies and Goodfellas is my all-time favorite. One night I sat with a gentleman in the club and he asked me what else I did for a living and I told him that I was an aspiring actress and screenwriter. He asked me what my favorite movie was and I told him it was Goodfellas. Then I asked him what he did for a living and he told me he was an actor and he played Pete the Killer in the bar scene in Goodfellas where they introduced the gangsters! His name is Peter Cicale. He told me he was about to go to Cannes France for the film festival there and I didn't believe him at first so I took a good look at him and listen to his voice, then I went to the dressing room to YouTube the scene. Sure enough it was him. I went back to the table and offered him a dance but he politely declined. All I remember was that he was a very classy gentleman and was very humble and down to earth. We probably spoke for 45 minutes. That was a cool night.

At my old job at an advertising agency I also spoke with Steven Root over the phone. He was the goofy guy in Office Space and he did the voice for bubbles in Nemo. He told me he was on his way to an audition I told him to break a leg LOL

In the club I had some guy who swore he was a famous country singer. He wouldn't tell me his name and kept insisting "you don't know who I am?" He expected me to stay well after I was intending to go home and was pretty cheap I dug around on Google and I *think* I found him though I don't remember the name now. He was semi-successful at best, the kind of artist that would play night clubs and such.

Last night my SO had some rapper come into the restaurant. Eric Beasley from Ultimate Rap League? The waitress recognized him though. He walked in 12 minutes before close, took his sweet ass time, tried to order extra food after being told the kitchen was closed, etc. He paid with a black Amex & tipped 15%. 2 thumbs down lol.

Edit: oh I just remembered, we had a bunch of the local NFL team (Cardinals) come in one night to the club. They were douchebags that just sat up in the little VIP area being loud and drinking their bottles. The waitresses kept trying to get girls to go up there but after an hour or so we all figured out they weren't going to spend much. They started complaining that no girls were sitting with them like the club was supposed to force us to entertain them for free.

^^ he did tip though, and he was total gentleman. Not arrogant or an assshole or anything. I think he just didn't want it out there that he was getting dances for some reason, but he did tip. And gave me good career advice. And I got to talk to him about what it was like to work with Martin Scorsese, because it is my dream to do that someday, as crazy as it sounds. I better get on it because he's getting old LOL . But I understand what you're saying. I did work in the club once where the San Diego Chargers would come in, and they all had that arrogant demeanor where they felt they were entitled to be entertained for free. Maybe only one of them gave me 20s off the stage.

In US some NFL players and baseball players who got were surprised that I didn't know who they were. They were also talking about going to the hotel smh.
In London Piers Morgan who was a gentleman and danced with everyone.

I have a friend who worked at Spearmint Rhino years ago and has told me stories of all the celebrities she’s seen. Her favorite was Floyd Mayweather, said he’s lots of fun. She’s also seen Maynard James Keenan and someone from the band Faith No More (I don’t think it was at Spearmint though), and had positive experiences with them. She did say that her least favorites were the football and basketball players, for the same reason everyone else is saying (cheap, entitled, etc). I have never met any celebrities as a dancer, but it seems like from what everyone is saying, I’m not missing out lol

    Slightly off-topic:

Maynard owns a vineyard and a couple of tasting rooms and coffee shops in a little town here (Jerome, AZ). I was lowkey hoping we'd run into him just to say I met him but no dice.

He gets some INSANE fanboys. I got one in the club one night who basically worshipped him. I wonder how he feels about those fans LOL

Oh I bet! Tool has a very dedicated fan base. My friend said he was very nice and had an offbeat, dry sense of humor. Kind of sarcastic, but not rude or offensive at all! He was very chill and laid back. My friend did mention something about him owning a vineyard somewhere out West. And said he loves strippers and strip clubs and enjoys going to clubs across the country whenever he travels. It’s funny, I love rock music and danced for a long time but I have yet to meet a rockstar...would be nice!

When I danced in Hollyweird, Zak Bagans came in with a couple of the other Ghost Adventures crew. I was just starting to feel my buzz & I recognized him , walked up & did my fan girl thing haha. He was really nice & he got a vip for my time & I basically sat on his lap naked & we talked about the paranormal. Best vip I ever had honestly He also gave me his card & invited me back to the set the next day to check out what the show & the haunted location was all about. I wish I'd gone but I didn;t

He was very respectful & down to earth yet fun.

Another time I met Erin Moran (Happy Days & Joni Loves Chachi), along with Wanda Sykes (she was kinda rude) Ben Savage (Boy Meets World) He was sooo sweet! Talked about this 80s cover band the spazmatics for a bit then he left. The dark haired guy with glasses from Roseanne (Darlene's bf) sat at my stage once, tipped & as I walked offstage I told him what a fan I was

My club is a celebrity hotbed. Seen and met a dozen of sportsball players(football, baseball, basketball, etc) though only knew of them from staff and dancers giggling around. I don't watch sports.

Met a few rappers. Yung Joc, Lil Wayne comes to mind.

But in the end, celebrities AIN'T SH!T!!

Reminds me of those times when pro and former college football players, would waste my time talking to me while wearing flashy jewelry and fancy watches(like that's going to impress me).

Just standing there, pretending to be intrigue while they just yap and yap about "getting to know" me.

If you want to count them as celebrities, I've seen a few pornstars in the club. One was Sophie Dee. She came to the club 7 years ago to do a promo. Brought in a good number of customers but they just came to see her only. Another pornstar did a promo too but forgot her name.

The other one is very known. A white woman with a thick banging body, huge fake tits, huge wide booty while matching all that with a not-so-pretty face. Known for her interracial pornographic scenes. I think her name was Sarah. Made all the black dudes look at her the whole time she was there. I think the people she was hanging out with that night were pornstars too.
