Trying to preserve my extensions but I love the wavey look. All I do now with the new extensions is put it in a braid and let it out. I wish there was a simpler method other than sleeping in annoying curlers. I love the victoria secret hair curl look but god knows I can't achieve that with a braid.

Sponge rollers (curlers) can produce a decent wavy texture in long hair if you sleep in them.

It really depends on how well your hair holds a curl.

I'm trying to avoid curlers. I'm not that dedicated to men who are cheap for my job lol. I used to have curlers growing up for special events. Hard to sleep on.

I've seen lots of videos on youtube where girls use fabric or those thin flexible thingies(I know that's a lot of help).

I've seen hair wrap "sticks" (I don't know exactly what they are called, you might wanna search Amazon dot com for them.) More comfy than rollers, and as effective.

I have had the Dyson air wrap for a couple years and it has a couple of curling attachments. It never gets above 300 which has helped my hair tremendously and I am heavily bleached to a level 10. Pricey but sturdy. Just a different type of suggestion it is another overpriced tool

Flexi-rods sounds interesting. I'm gonna look into them. Seems much smaller than curlers.

Robe ties!?! Interesting. I'm watching the video. My only problem is I don't have any robes. . Wonder if those thigh high socks would work? Her outcome looks super pretty in the video.

I believe the thickness and type of material make a difference. Do you have any old microfiber towels you could cut into strips, or anything like that?

I just twist my hair into a bun on top of my head and sleep like that then there's curls and waves in the morning. The ultimate lazy girl hair hack lol.

How do you get your hair to stay put? I have long, fine hair that falls out of everything. I think when i put it into a bun overnight, it tends to kill any volume i would've had in my hair. I'm guessing you have thicker hair!

Try an invisibobble. My hair is the same. So, let your hair a little wet (or run wet fingers trough your hair) and put it in a bum on top of your head, so you can sleep comfortably. And if you don't want your bun to touch the bed headboard, just put your pillow a little further away from it.

In other news, I wanna spend money on that Dyson Airwrap. It would be perfect for when I want perfect curlsssss!

Yeah, i have one of those things. I think any overnight bun method just kills the natural volume in my hair, and i don't use any heat, silicones, sulfates, drying ingredients, etc. (I'm one of those psychopaths, lol), so once volume is gone, it's gone until my next washday. My hair is pretty weird. It's fine, but i have a lot of it, and it's naturally wavy / curly, but if i brush it when it's dry, it gets this really wirey / coarse texture, like i stuck my finger into an electric socket. Anyway, that's my drama, haha.

Haha, sorry to ruin it for you, but without those, your hair will never have that volume. I am teasing my hair just a liiitle bit at the roots and use a bit of hairspray or a bit of dry shampoo (but teasing after the dry shampoo). Otherwise, whitin an hour, my hair looks like a cow licked it.

I personally use a rotating brush this one: https://www.amazon.com/Rowenta-BRUSH...ct_top?ie=UTF8 > Been using it for years (i dry my hair with a normal hair dryer untill like 85% and then use this brush). It's the only way my hair doesn't look like I stuck my fingers in an electric socket ))))))) And it actually gives me that smoooth silky view.

So, yeah... I guess you just have to live with the idea, if you don't want to use anything to help a little volume, because... that's the only way. Since I have exactly same hair like yours, I can totally confirm that hahaha ))

^ Hehe! I actually do get a ton of volume in my hair with the natural products i use, and no heat! I just can't pack my hair into a bun and retain that volume. I leave my hair open at night and sleep on a silk pillowcase.

I just secure it with hair band, my hair is medium/thick.

Yes braid your hair then spritz some of water in it and leave it for a few hours or overnight

They key is to dampen your hair a bit

Yeah, a lot of this is going to depend on your hair type. If you have thick hair, and a lot of it, then you can do stuff like braid your hair, leave it overnight, and you'll have waves in the morning, and you can just put your hair up in a bun overnight to protect the ends.

If you have fine hair, like me, then the braiding trick will more likely result in stringy, limp waves with zero volume / oily roots (because your fine hair is picking up oils from the scalp while in braids), and the overnight bun trick will leave you with no volume, lol!

Indiegirl, what's your general hair type? Fine, or thick?
