    Default Covid shot

So I got my first Covid shot, the Moderna, about 2 days ago. The injection site is sore and it hurts a little to raise my arm but that's it. Been taking tylenol and thc edibles which are legal where I live. Been feeling good so far, gave myself a rest day.

Has anyone had their two shots already? I am wondering what to expect or prepare for.

I just got an email that Iím now eligible.

I suppose Iím going to go ahead and get it because of the sheer ignorance of a lot of people who completely minimize or deny when they are ill and/or have been exposed thus spreading their pathogens around.

I feel like itís going to be hard to simply exist without being exposed to some sick person.

Iím still going to take same precautions as far as sanitizer, social distancing, etc

I had a pretty rough time after the second dose. I got it in the morning and 12 hours later when I was getting ready for bed extreme chills set in. The following day was very unpleasant and I was completely useless. I was totally back to normal the day after that though!

I’ve heard of responses all over the map from just a little soreness in the arm to needing to be hospitalized, but that’s rare/extreme.

I read that even if you do get the vaccine, you still need to wear a mask and social distance and wash hands and all that. Even though you're vaccinated, you can still spread it to someone who isn't vaccinated.
Grateful to have one shot down, I'm a little nervous about the second shot.

I wouldn't be, I've had two shots of Moderna and except for the expected soreness in the arm (injection site) and a feel of "laziness" for a couple of days, I really didn't notice any other complications.

One of my friends said they experienced the side effect of soreness at injection site the first shot and extreme fatigue the second shot

That's all I've experienced so far . Got my injection Monday, sore arm Tuesday and Wednesday, back to normal by Thursday. Took tylenol and edibles, which helped. Gotta little extra rest. I already have ginger ale, tylenol, and more edibles in preparation for my 2nd dose. I had Moderna too.

I was scared about getting one in the beginning, I'll be honest just bc of the possible effects on the body in years to come. Now I'm leaning more towards getting mine bc of the reasons mentioned above ^

I had Pfizer. The second one I didn't have the sore arm but I was pretty knocked on my ass the next day - 99.7 fever, headache, ridiculous muscle aches, etc. I got the shot late at night and the side effects didn't show up until the next day. I was fine by the next morning except for being exhausted (being sick will take it out of you + it was compounding my other issues).

You can take Tylenol or ibuprofen if you get bad symptoms. I'd just plan to take at least 24 hours off work.

Got my first shot today - she did it so fast I didn't see it go in or even feel it. No soreness for the first like 8 hours and I was getting paranoid asking myself did it even go into my arm, lol.

About an hour or so ago my bicep started feeling a bit sore, just feels a tiny slight soreness as if I overdid it at the gym a little. It only twinges a bit if I raise my arm and no pain at all if I don't move it. Hoping that's all it will be!

Really looking forward to going to the movies again in a month or so and eating out without stressing at all about it.

I had my second Moderna shot a couple months ago. My first one wasn't bad at all just felt tired and had a sore arm. Second shot felt pretty crummy. Woke up in the middle of the night with nausea and chills--vomited and then felt a little better. Day after shot just felt overall malaise. I took some Advil, iced my sore arm, ate a lot and laid around on my couch (took the day off). Next day I was 98% back to normal. You might feel more with the second shot because your body recognizes the antigen now and will produce a more robust immune response.

Here's a member of this forum talking about the side effects she's suffering from coronavirus:

    https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...=1#post3214282

There's also over 1/2 million Americans who died from it. There's really no reason not to get the vaccine. Any side effects from it are very minor compared to getting a bad case of coronavirus.

I don't know anyone whose had an allergic reaction--None of my coworkers, friends, family, or patients (older population ages 65 to 100) have had an allergic reaction, that's not to say that it doesn't happen though. They usually make you wait 15 minutes after the shot incase you have an adverse reaction. You can speak to your doctor incase you think you might be allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine.

My cousin who is in his mid 30s, got Moderna. On his 2nd shot, he got a fever but sweated it out with a damp towel. Mind you, his system is probably a bit shot from being on a plane constantly.

My aunt(his mom) in her 70s who is considered high risk, had a mini brain aneurysm a few years felt fine after the 2nd Moderna. No side affects. She's been taking care of herself too. Taking certain vitamins and fennel tea.

I haven't had any allergic reactions. When you get your injection, they make you wait in an area for 15 minutes afterwards to monitor you. They also have a separate triage area with heart rate monitors, beds, Etc just in case you do have a reaction. I didn't notice anybody in the observation area have a reaction either, but that's not to say that it doesn't happen. Next time I go in it'll be April 24th and I made sure to clear my schedule for the 25th just in case I wind up with a fever or chills.

Even if you don't have health insurance, you can get the vaccine for free.

I recently had my first pfizer shot and I didn't feel it at all. I got it in my right arm. But after waiting the 15 minutes I did start to feel a little itchy in other places. Like my left arm and upper thighs. It was like I had tiny phantom needle pricks. No worries because it didn't last long.

It doesn't seem to be any real consensus on why some of us are having more extreme reactions than others. I'm asthmatic and had a kidney infection in the last 12 months, it was a breeze. My homegirl is a fitness professional who runs 5 miles a day and the pfizer shot took her out for 24 hours?
