yep, and disease will only get worse with global warming. I hate to be debbie downer, but we aren't doing what we need to do as a species to improve things. An object in motion stays in motion, so things will likely get worse. There's already a lot of tropical diseases that are moving further north because of global warming. I don't say anything because I don't want to freak people out, but things could get a lot worse that they already are now.

Honestly, that's why I'm not that freaked out over Covid because there's A LOT of diseases that could become a problem. (I say this with a due respect to people who have died because of Covid. I did everything I could to be part of the solution, but there's only so much you can do to fight mother nature.) This is a flesh eating parasite that's been moving further up North because of global warming https://www.npr.org/sections/health-...imate-heats-up

Microbes are a fact of life and they are here to stay. We need to learn to respect the planet, or it will shake us off like a bunch of fleas.

I'm fairly sure I had West Nile over a decade ago. (I had all the symptoms but no medical insurance so no doctor visit.) I got over it pretty easily.

I'm more freaked out by Zika virus honestly.

Can't believe this crap is back. I remember a previous friend went to college on a football scholarship contracting west nile and it ended his career. He had to move home.

I have 2 fly/bug zappers in my house and one is near my bed lol. I don't have time for west nile or bugs. They scare me. I killed a june bug in the house with it recently too lol. If bugs aren't paying rent to stay they are trespassers IMO lol.

I feel like you can drive yourself nuts stressing out over every single disease. I do read all about them and do what I can to avoid them, but also I feel like there isn't enough focus on also building up our immune systems and having a healthy body.

The healthier you are the better you can withstand these types of things, and it seems likely we will catch some of these diseases or viruses sooner or later. So important to get plenty of vitamins from fresh foods, veggies, fruits, good proteins, take care of your body with exercise and keep your immune system in top shape.

Of course it's important to try to avoid mosquitoes biting you as much as possible. I was out this week doing yard work and they were so bad I went back in the house till I could get some more repellent.

I'm allergic to a lot of bug repellents but yesterday I tried some of this and it worked super well on them plus I like the smell way better than regular repellent: http://www.repel.com/products/person...ucalyptus.aspx

^^^I’m at that point, we have to accept diseases are a fact of life. Of course be smart, but don’t there’s only so much we can do to mitigate risk of cancers, microbes, and just old age.
