The fact that the debris could have impaled the other people recording off angle is interesting as well, having been in those situations you tend to brush it off, but it certainly was a scenario with high likelihood of death.

That was uncomfortably close.

I'm not linking to this info but a type of Cessna has a morbid nickname for the amount of white collar professionals that crash it during weekend and holiday trips.
///Flying, often best left to professionals.

Not just Cessna’s but several high performance light aircraft earns nicknames as doctor killers etc.. Typically operated by owners with more money than flying skills.

It used to be a joke that the three most dangerous things were. . . 3. A doctor with a Bonanza.
That was a while back. Many Bonanzas have been retired due to corrosion weakening of the tailcone.

When I did a search, this came up:
https://generalaviationnews.com/2017...doctor-killer/
According to this article, in one study, Cessna 172 had a fatality rate of 0.56 per 100,000 flying hours (the best in general aviation).
https://www.highskyflying.com/are-cessnas-safe/
The Cessna C-150/152 still remain in operation, although the model has been out of production for more than 30 years. The number of accidents in these aircraft has crashed twice as fast as total flight operation in all piston singles for over twenty years.
Maybe it depends on the model.

This particular airplane was said to be a C-172 which is a very reputable aircraft not known to have any specific bad habits so to speak. I don’t know the reason why it ended up on the tracks, but the discussion of different “doctor killers” has most likely nothing to do with this accident. This airplane is rather basic and not in the same category.
