    Smiley Acts Of Kindess

With all the stressful things were are all dealing with these days, it sure feels good to help someone, even small acts of kindness. We don't know what others are going through. You can truly make their day.

My store was out of carts inside so I went back out to find one. I saw an elderly lady walking toward the store. I told her there are no carts inside but let's see if we can find you one out here. We found 2 carts in the cart corral, one for her and one for me. She was so happy that I saved her a trip inside.

    Great thread!
    - I came back from grocery shopping and while I was carrying the bags upstairs, I saw 2 street sweepers taking shelter in my apartament building because it was really cold outside. I rushed upstairs and made 2 cups of hot tea and 2 sandwiches. They were so shocked, that I had to insist them to take it, they weren't expecting, barely babbled a "thank you" while giving a shocked look at what I gave to them, then devoured everything ahahaha )

You inspired me Cutie! I heard someone working hard shoveling our stairs outside at 4am in single digit temps. Next time I'm going to bring him a cup of hot chocolate.

    I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!

The other day I pulled in to get gas. I had just got food and was sitting eating before going out into the cold to pump when someone knocked on my passenger side window and startled me.

It was a young woman. She asked if she could have a ride. I wasn't going her way, but gave her my last $5. She thanked me, smiled, and said she could use it for gas.

    Awesome thread Carmen!!
I was coming out of RiteAid, and noticed an elderly woman who was wandering around looking lost.
She was wearing slippers and a hospital robe.
I approached her, and asked if everything was ok.
She said she was lost. That her friend was waiting in the car, but that she couldn't find it.
I asked her to describe the car, and that I'd help her find it.

I sensed that she had dementia.
I lost both parents to Alzheimers, so it's all too familiar to me.

I don't have any recent little random ones but I did just adopt a cat from an elderly couple that couldn't care for him anymore. The wife was admitted to a home and apparently the husband is not far behind her.

How sad for the cat and the couple. That's heartbreaking. I'm sure that you and the cat will bond over time. I believe that animals mourn just like we do.

^^Honestly we're already bonded, he's very chill. He hates my dog though but he's tolerating her, and I think he's tolerating her especially well considering he was an only pet before.

I heard the guy shoveling the stairs again last night so I made him some hot chocolate. When I went out there in the 13 degree cold, I saw that he was already in another area. He had another guy with him so I went in and made another cup.

I brought the 2 cups out and saw 4 or 5 guys this time.

I tried one more time. I saw the first guy but he was once again further away. I waved to him and said here's some hot chocolate for you. I will leave it here on the top step and I went back inside.

When I went out to retrieve my cup, it was not there. LMAOOOO

    It's okay, I tried.

Oh, and I also spilled some on myself when I was trying to carry the 2 cups and not fall on the ice. I burned my hand. I think I get an A for effort on this one.

and a soda with it. his card declined and he said, "oh i only have for the 2 chips, I dont have any money at all"
my husband cut in and bought his soda for him as a surprise . the guy got a tear in his eye and got really choked up.

sometimes i wish it was easier to identify who really is in need vs who is a liar. in mexico there are a lot of problems with fake beggars.
most of the ones at the stop lights or who walk around with babies and prey upon tourists they make $100s of dollars a day . and i mexico that is a lot of money! well anywhere that is a lot of cash.

meanwhile so many people suffer silently.

Yes, so true! Sometimes the fakes try to rob people too.

Once, stopped at a light, a girl approached my car w/some story, I shook my head, she just stopped mid sentence like a robot, went on to the next car!

That's very kind of your husband. Your husband showed the worker that he mattered and someone cares about him.

Your husband is such a cool guy. He's kind and hoes friendly!

My fiancé was on the receiving end of this the other day where a stranger offered to pay for his milk and cigarettes because our bank was messing about and his card wasn't working, my fiancé was so shocked he declined but thanked the guy. He is too proud to ever accept help but it was strange to see in our hometown where a stranger would cut your throat for your last £.

Nice to see humanity is still present in the world today and these stories are so inspiring and awesome
