Private parties seem to be doing really well. However I don't know how they were before pre covid.
My one night back at the club was ok, but nothing great.
I did notice that there was a lot of competition.

Girls were saying things such as :
"at least I am making more than at my starbucks job" "at least this is a job"

I made money, but these comments were disheartening. I hadn't heard girls saying this in 2016 which is when I left dancing.

I returned to dancing earlier this year, and it was noticeably different. I'm in a major city by an airport, so we used to get tons of wealthy locals, business travelers, blue & white collar guys. Weekend nights used to so busy that there would be standing room only. But now the club is about 1/3 full on any given day. The champagne rooms have cheaper prices, starting with 15 minutes instead of a full hour, and they're mostly empty.

I did make decent money, and I felt lucky to have past experience & some hustling skills, but I did hear a lot of money complaints from girls. There were girls sitting at the tables alone, just eating and being on their phones in the middle of the club, which we never used to be allowed to do.

The environment was too depressing for me. I'd regularly walk in, see it being completely dead, and I'd just turn around and leave. lol. However, I do think that if you can manage it wisely, and multitask during slow nights, it could be worth it. A lot of girls at my club were doing onlyfans, camming, just had multiple income sources. I think this recession will weed out girls who aren't serious hustlers.

I also noticed everyone had onlyfans, sugar daddies, cam site links etc.

Back in 2016, I had a regulars customers only IG that I used to keep up with preferrred clients. That was it. I was personally of the opinion that having sex for money and doing porn wasn't what DANCING was about, (no offence to those who do) But I feel like it's become one in the same.

I might stick around part time, OR I might travel, but all in all I had a pretty good run of it and as someone who is turining 35 in the new year, I feel almost relieved to be leaving when the industry is NOT on a high note.

Well, it seems like they have completely eliminated positions like house mom and the worst is the managers are now the champagne hosts which is awful for so many reason but mainly greed greed greed, pimps!" Originally they claimed they 'had to" be the host because the club just couldn't allow one more human to work on the skeleton crew CO Vid laws. Bull fuckin shit. Then they got used to that sweet sweet cash and now they'll never let go. "Make a schedule and work my days or don't work at all." "Every manager has their own rules, so if you work their shift you can't work mine." Freakin disgusting.

^We got rid of our house moms, too! Which... to be honest, wasn't as bad as I would have expected. We have like 1/2 the number of dancers & waitresses that we used to, which helps.

Also, we got rid of some of the old dirtbag managers, lol... so things improved slightly in that sense! Weirdly, the staff camaraderie was very positive. Gen Z has a much nicer attitude than the old stripper generation I was used to, haha. So strip clubs in 2022 are a mixed bag, for sure.

I wish the clubs I work at would get rid of house moms. I've never liked the fact that I have to give $10-$15 to someone when I don't even use their services. We're all grown adults and should be prepared to work by bringing our own baby wipes, deodorant, etc. Forget an essential once and you'll learn to never do it again. Why enable stupid/careless behavior? School of hard knocks. Sure, strip club culture has changed ...but one thing that never changes in the strip club is taking advantage of dancers by forcing them to tip useless leeches. Oh, and the $25 lap dance that has been the same price for the last 20+ years. Lap dances are inflation-proof. I wish rent, gas, and groceries were inflation-proof too.

You know what is really scaring me these days ?
Phones out and staff doing NOTHING . I just can't stand it. I can't seem to get a handle on it sometimes even if I'm like " I'll tip more please WATCH MY STAGE carefully ".

I just believe phones in club shouldn't even be out . In pocket only.
Need to check texts ? Go out in the lobby.

Yeah, I've noticed this is especially common at the strip clubs that are trying to be like nightclubs. I was shaking my ass at a VIP section and noticed a guy in the group filming me. Top off and all, and the bouncers could care less. It's not that I'm concerned about privacy since I don't make an effort to hide my involvement in adult work, but it's more the idea of being filmed without my consent and the lack of consideration for me as a human being.

Don't let this thread scare you! I'd absolutely try it and see how it goes. I make great money and I know plenty of other girls do too. I see it every night. I'd say try it for a few weeks and if you hate it, then you can easily quit. But stripping is still worthwhile and will most likely put your life in a better position. At least for me, I don't see any issues now that didn't already exist in 2016.

I would also try it! I live a comfortable life and make great money too off of it. People missed strippers and going out to the club after not being able to because of the shutdowns and covid. I've heard it's "not like the old days" and the lapdances are the same price since the early 2000s but it's still a good job! I honestly feel so grateful to be a stripper at this time in my life

Sorry to make you feel that way, it's definitely just us wanting to vent! I quit this year during the summer, which is our slow season. But it's worth a shot, and honestly I believe Covid was the main thing that disrupted the nightlife culture, not even the economy. We'll get back to normalized strip club activity again. Some recent changes have been for the better.

For me it's not so much the thought of clubs being slow, it's the change in culture to where customers taking photos/videos is normal now...that was really getting under my skin the last few years that I danced but I'd forgotten about it since retiring.

I agree. I don't like customers both male and female who come in and think recording is ok simply because everyone is constantly recording their lived. IMHO it is a form of being ridiculed and belittled that goes unnoticed at times. There used to be a time in dancing where the people came in to appreciate the dancers more instead of singling out a stigmatized group for self benefit. When I come into work I try to chat people up when I can. Sometimes promoting a sense of kindness is infectious. It doesn't always solve money issues but it's better than being brought down completely by the business.

Friends who still dance tell me it is absolutely pitiful right now. I can’t even imagine because even back in the day the industry was on a downward spiral.
