I love Hooters and tip generously but I cant believe those chicks make more than strippers. Next time Im up there I will ask the hottest waitress I see how she does

in my humble experence.. the wings are great, the beer is decent priced, the women are scantily clad and good looking, there's usually sports on the TV, and it's not morally questionable in most communities.

i live in Milwaukee and the SC here the women have to keep bottoms on and wear pasties on their nipples. i know the rest of the country is not like that... just giving perspective to where i am.

the hooters girls flirt ALOT here (which gets them good tips )

the last time i was at hooters the waitress gave our table of 8 guys a free picture of beer (after buying 6) and gave me a Miller keychain.

it was a great time and noone had to lie to their GF / wife about where they were.

***above comments may be taken out of context so disclaimer: i am not morally opposed to strip clubs. my parents are (and at the age of 30 they still do not know i have ever been to a "gentelman's club") and many in the local communities are also opposed (just look at our local ordinances regarding them). i also have 3 friends that their GF / wife will not let them within a mile of a strip club

    another thought....

men by nature are cheap dumb bastards LOL.

hooters is cheaper and every guy knows there's no way you are going to get the number of a stripper while getting a lap dance... but that waitress on the other hand....

oh well just like i said a dumb thought

I've never been to Hooters--do all the waitresses have big tits? Is it required in order to be hired there?

I worked at Hooters for 3 months. I hated it.

#1. I hate working with food.

#2. Money was not good. Best night was about $100. Worse was $7(day shift). I worked a lot of day shifts and there were more than enough $7 days.

#3. Girls were more rude and catty than dancers.

#4. We had to sing jingles.

#5. It just wasn't fun and there is no freedom in it (compared to dancing).

The Hooters girls are just like dancers. Some have a big chest and some don't. Some are pretty and some are just okay. Being a Hooters girl before I don't see why any dancer would be one unless you are making less than $150 nightly dancing.

$150 a night...for five nights a week...is more than i make in a week at my corporate job...just a little FYI for those of you who think that's no money...

We got paid $2.13 an hour plus tips, but taxes from tips gauraunteed(sp) a check close to zero.

Topaz, I am talking about dancers and their income. Why would a dancer want to make so little when she could make more dancing?
Being a Hooters girl before I don't see why any dancer would be one unless you are making less than $150 nightly dancing.
I also said my best night was close to $100, not $150. $150 a night is good for a Hooters girl, but not for a dancer.

I worked at Hooters a year before I started dancing and knew what having that kind of money was like and still thought Hooters was shi**y money.

I worked at Hooters as a hostess a couple of years ago. The girls don't make nearly as much as dancers. As a matter of fact, several of the Hooters girls at that branch worked on the side as dancers. As a little side job it would be fine, but not as a main gig. Also, the girls are more catty than strippers. I had a horrible experience with some of the waitresses.

the average person working a 'regular' job...even one requiring a college degree...usually makes less than the above amount that most here consider to be shitty...i think you ladies should count your blessings...

Our Hooters is a bunch of kids. The place lacks alot. They are not busy. I have a coupls gf's who worked there and learned how to hustle, because they make you watch a tape and learn how to chat with people in your area and smile, smile, smile. But when i go there, i see girls who are fake with the laughing and look tired. It's strange. We have thursday night trivia. And thats about the only time it get busy. Other than that they can't compete with the other clubs, Sanctuary club for example.

The money is ok, my friends said, but alot of BS. Here there is always a new manager, and the cook walks out.

At least i am glad to see very skinny flat girls and heavy set girls working there. Thats a big plus for this one. Rumour has it the place is struggling now. We just have too many other clubs too close to them. And our Hooters had a bad fight with friday bike night. So there went alot of money, now the bikers meet at another club.

Also i do have a friend who works there now (i think) and the last time i talked with her, she said they cut shifts short. Of course, no benefits that way.

Dunno, not impressed anymore with Hooters. I think it's a kid thing. Draws in a very young crowd around here. Best bet, go to an upscale busy restaurant.

Topaz, no one here is saying what you are implying. I said it was shitty because a lot of the time I worked 10-2 or even 10-5 to make $7. Do you make that much? $7 in four or seven hours, lets see, that is $1.75 an hour or $1 an hour. And if it wasn't $7 it was $30. $7.50 an hour or $4.28 an hour is still pretty shitty considering I didn't even enjoy the job. I said once I made close to $100, once. If I made that every shift I probably wouldn't have quit and maybe even enjoyed it more. Trust me I count my blessings and I feel very lucky to be a dancer and make the kind of money I make. I love dancing and take the good with the bad. I have never once complained about the money I make as a dancer.

Hooters is a different story. The money I made there is shitty money for anyone. Some one in another area or better shifts might make better money, but as far as the shifts I was given, it was crap. That's why I quit.

Today I drove by a hooters and pondered the same question... I really did, which is weird that I saw it on the forum today but anyways. I agree with Pamela. An upscale restaurant would probably be more money. I dunno though cause I've never worked at a hooters or an upscale restaurant before. Although I really want a hooters shirt to wear as jammys just for fun

My old roomate worked at Hooter's for a year. She made usually around $80 a weeknight, and $145 a weekend night. She loved the job at first saying "I can't believe I'm getting paid to do cheers all day!" but hated it shortly after. She was always coming home with some new drama that happened between the waitresses. The staff were assholes, and constantly over worked her, even schedualed her constantly when she had requested off, and (disgustingly enough) would make her work when she was extreamly sick. I have not been doing this long, but even on my first day I made more then $145 and didn't have to deal with that kind of buisness.

I like Hooters a lot. The food is good and the waitresses are friendly. They come by chat with you sometimes. They have interesting happen there like a MTV crew come by or visit by the FHM girls. I don't know that the wages are better but if you like that atmosphere then maybe you should look into it.

    Shedevil,
you can go in and buy the hooters shirt. Our Hooters has them hanging inside the door. And lots of females buy them. I hear you can't wear them in public if you don't work there, duh....Then why sell them. I see lots wearing them, and they don't work there they say.

    Tank tops and full t-shirts.

I worked at Hooters, too but its true. OUR manager was a dick and he didnt give me the day I requested off, even though I had done so the week before. So I quit, but I made good money. In fact, I got a $200 tip on a $34 tab. LOL
Although thats very rare, it still happened and I ended up going home with 300 that day.

It seems that they girls there are treated like strippers are, often. LIke with the managers, thinking they can push the girls around. I haven't seen it, but I'm sure lots of nasty drunk men try to grab or make some nasty comments. I went there for my senior prom though... lots of fun, we got a standing ovation. However, when I went there just casually, the waitresses were always pretty snotty to me.

I didn't like Hooters at all! Like you said, the waitresses were bitchy and had a very bad attitude. Don't think I'll go there again.
