    Default Pet appreciation!

As i just got up from my computer to go grab a beer from the fridge, only to come sit back down, spending many mindless hours on this site, I stopped and gave my poochie a kiss and my kittie a scratch. I love my "kids"!

I have a pekinegse (sp?) named Bailey Beans, who just turned 1 year old last Saturday! [happybday] And a 3 month old kittie named Charlie. I want to share with you guys how they bring me so much love and joy. My dog travels with me, and is a mad kisser! Charlie's so much better now that he's snipped and declawed.

So if anyone wants to share the love and joy of their pets, by all means, go ahead! We wanna hear what you got and what their names are! Hooray for fuzzy little dudes! They can sure take the edge off when you come home from a poopy night of work.

I have four cats: Listo, Drift, Tripper, Dia. They were all rescued so I didn't name them. Two are Turkish Van's and the other two are both deaf Turkish Angora's. They're so cute, they've even learned a little sign language. Deaf cats are great because they don't get spooked by anything (except the vacuum). I sometimes take in and help rehabilitate pit bulls, but not lately due to lack of time and space. But they're big fun and I love them while I have them.

I only have 1 dog right now (don't have much time right now-but thats why I bust my bum now), her name is Peanut Butter. I rescued her from an abusive situation with the help of a local organization (www.1by1.petfinder.org). <She has issues..just like me! )

If I had my wish, I would have a house full of rescued animals ....and we would live on love [love]

I love ALL animals but really want to have pygmy goats and shetland ponies running around....I want to rehabilitate dogs with poor socialization (mainly pits), be a vigilante to abusers of animals, and educate the world on the link between animal cruelty and physical abuse.

Basically I want to change the world <sigh> [order]

that's why I have 17 ferrets right now

"only" 11 are officially mine, but I'm watching 6 right now because the shelter is FULL, so when there is space, they will go back.

But of the 11, three are show ferrets....the rest are rescues from the ferret shelter. I spend a lot of time with that and it gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling since ferrets are so cool!

    My 11 are:
    Aslan
    Nibb
    Booga
    Luna
    Ezra
    Misty
    Cleo
    Juvee
    Aerial
    Animal
    Pip

Plus my doggie, Root Beer. He's a Pomeranian....yapyapyap

    [love]My Kids [love]

I have a champion bloodline toy Chihuahua, Kobi, who turned 1 on Halloween. He has blonde hair and blue eyes like his mother. He truly is the best dog I have ever met. I want to get him a brother for Christmas.

I have 2 cats. Huka is a stubborn girl (like her mommy) and has been with me for 4 years, 5 houses, 3 states, and 2 boyfriends. Cleo (originally named Cleopatra because we thought he was a girl) has been with us for 2 years and he is a doll (he's very feminine).

    I love my kids!!!

I celebrate my one year anniversary with my 2.5 year old horse, PJ on the 4th. I can't believe it's really been a year, gawd I love that pony. I took a friend out to meet him, we just sat there and pet him and his pasture mates, it was nice to so simply just *enjoy* him.

I've got poochies too. Two seven year old grumps, Macs (rat terrier) and Gretchen (german shepherd, of course) and a young cute thing, Sydney (border collie, australian shepherd). All three slept on my bed last night, good gawd!

I have four dogs that are mine, two German Shepherds, a Border Collie, and a GSD/BC mix, all rescues, aged 10 years to six months. There are two dogs in my house that aren't mine and aren't staying, I'm just working with them a little for one of the local rescue groups.

There is one cat who's mine, and seventeen feral fosters. Being feral, they mostly hide from me and the dogs. When they get brave enough that I start seeing them around the house, they are ready for homes. It's like having one cat that eats and shits a lot :-)

Glad to see we have other reptile owners on the forum (Velvet & Sophia)... I have a bunch of lizards: a rescued/adopted 4-foot male iguana who free roams around my apartment, 4 sweet leopard gecko girls, a chubby (healthy) male green water dragon, a German giant bearded dragon & 3 anoles. Though they aren't the most loving or cuddly creatures, they are still all really tame & friendly & they ARE my pets... I also have 4 bettas (fish) that I keep in large bowls to "decorate" my apartment. They are so funny & have their own little fish personalities. I want a dog when I have the space, perhaps a lab or a German shepard.

When I was in highschool my parents raised sugar gliders (and emus). I don't remember that much about them except that they are cute. Once I had a friend over and one of the sugar gliders flew to her face and attached itself to her face. It was pretty funny.

Wow you guys! Love to hear about the love out there for our furry ( and not so furry) friends! I sat hear reading this with my sweet little Summer Sausage ( one of my nicknames for Bailey! ) on my lap! I also call her Stinky, Sweet Pea, Poopykins, and Stinkywinkydinkydoo! She cocks her head and looks at me thinking, "My god ma, WTF is wrong with you?"

When I was younger I had a hamster who died at the ripe old age of 2 years & 2 months.

I'd like to have a golden retriever someday and maybe some more hamsters, but cats scare me. Thousands of years ago the Egyptians worshipped cats as gods, who've never forgotten this and are plotting a return to power.

It's wonderful to read all these emails about your pets! My cat and dog have an amazing bond. They cuddle up next to each other to sleep, clean each other and play chase. My cat has a cry he makes to get my dog to chase him. They're great! I love them both.

There's a great web site for people who pamper their pets:

    I have five "children"--

Kimmie, my one year old (one week from today, that is) miniature black and tan dachshund. She's my pride and joy, a purebred, AKC registered and whatnot. I spoil her rotten, but she brings me more happiness than I could ever express. She's my baby girl!

Schatzie, the orange and white BEAUTIFUL cat I rescued from an evil killer dog. I don't know exactly how old he is, but my best guess is about 9 months. He's a big teddy bear of a cat, although he likes to pretend to be aloof and "too cool" for strangers and people he doesn't know well.

Tobey, the baby, a little grey, black, and brown tabby, born May 12 of this year. He's the most affectionate cat in the world, I swear! He LIVES in people's laps and on their feet while they sleep.

Those are three that run wild around the house, playing nonstop and tearing up everything in sight. They're very cute. The cats tried to suckle on the dog for a few months, and until just recently she was giving milk. A little strange... But sweet, in its own way. They know they're family.

My other two are the ratties, who live safely in a cage in the closet where I go to play with them daily but they're out of reach of the cats. They are Jezebel (Jezzie) and Gracie. I had another, Sylvie, but she died of cancer this summer.

I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my babies here to cheer me up after long days and to cuddle up with me at night... The dog and the cats all sleep with me every night, so even when my man's away from home, I never have to sleep alone and my feet are always warm!
