aww its so good to know there's somebody who love animals as well. I love my dogs. I treat them like they're my kids and I sometimes baby talk to them lol! 2 doberman pinischer and a male is 6 years old and female is 4 years old.

They both are so bad with other, they would play fight all the times and the male always want my full attenion by pushing her out of the way. I like walking with them but I can only do it one at a time since they're so strong.

Im gonna post 2 pics of my dobies.

My babies have their pics up in the Gallery, my pics alone didn't make the page worth going to.

Vixen: black pug, which is rare, I saw the entire litter along with momma and daddy, they were all typical fawn pugs and she was the runt... had to have her!

Bettie Paige: Solid black Shih Tzu, again very rare, spends hours licking Vixen (who lies there with eyes rolling back in head.

Oh and they're bisexual. When in heat, they take turns mounting and humping the other. I swear it has nothing to do with dominance, they're just freaks. Vixen's the horny slut, she loves Chiwawa's (sp?) and terriers. Betties a vicious little bitch, almost fainted when I took them with me to empty trash one night and huge wild raccoon attacked Vixen... Bettie killed it! I swear it's true what they say about pets taking after their momma's! Anyway, I had to get take them, and the dead raccoon, to 24hr animal hospital to get tested for rabies, the vet was amazed and told me I was lucky not to loose both babies because raccoons are very dangerous vicious attackers... I said, no the raccoon's lucky Bettie went for the throat and made it quick.

Thousands of years ago the Egyptians worshipped cats as gods, who've never forgotten this and are plotting a return to power.
According to my cat Katya, this statement is very accurate. Theoretically, she was rescued from a dumpster in South Austin, this silver tabby spotted and stripey ocicat, looks quite a bit like some of the ancient Egyptian cat figurines you can find, with the goddess attitude to match. The hostile takeover has begun!!

My tabby thinks he runs the house. He bites and scratches me all the time. It can be painful at times. He doesn't know how to play fair. I'm thinking about getting another kitten for him.

I love lizards!!! it is great to see other lizard lovers out there, Sohpia, velvet, and Yelle! I have 2 very healty super tame Bearded Dragons who have free roam of the house too (though they prefer to hide in the wierdest places). I also have a Cuban Knight Anole and a Golden Gecko. I have always had lizards roaming around my spaces since I was a little girl. Contrary to what many people think, Bearded Dragons can be very cuddly. My oldest dragon who is eight and a half, walks over to me when I am watching tv and curls into a cirlce by my side, underneath my arm and just falls asleep, I love these guys. They are my kids

Yea, bearded dargons are said to bond with their owners & actually get really attached to them, thus making them really friendly & tame. Mine is about 4 months old, I paid $100 for her from a breeder since she is a German Giant & you can't find those in pet stores. I used to have 2 little babies but they died of parasites within weeks of me getting them from the pet store, where they apparently contracted it. Stupid Petco!!! Even my water dragon loves to be handled, only by me though. He'll see me sitting at the computer & run over the the side of his tank & scratch on the glass until I take him out. Lizards are so cute!

I just bought a little Siamese kitten and she's a sweetheart. She's sitting in my lap watching me type, LOL. I've only had her a few days because the breeder doesn't release the kittens until they're 8 wks, so she's a tiny thing still. She can be a whiny bitch sometimes, as all babies are, but she doesn't make messes and is very cuddly. She loves her mommy.

Four kids all together! Two Tuxedo cats, my male Hero, I've had since he was about six weeks old, he's now 7 years old, saw him the day he was born! My female, Basha, was adopted from a local animal rescue league, she's a little princess and won't eat unless her bowl is completely full!

My other two are dogs. Sportster is a French Pointer a friend rescues from the pound, he's about four years old. My baby is Pippin, my 15 month old West Highland Terrier. I love this damn dog! She's sleeping on my lap right now. I like her because she's small, even by her breed standard she's small, so she's the perfect lap dog but she's got the attitude of a big dog!

Just like Kobi, I also have a toy Chihuahuas from a champion blood line named Bella. Two female PiXieBob cats named Maili and Kai (those are Hawaiians names), a baby eastern box turtle named Shellby, and 2 fishys. I love animals alot. They keep me company since my bf's a pilot and is always gone. They say petting a kitty daily lowers your blood pressure too! O ya and the other day I was watching animal planet (my favorite channel) and they had these lizards that would pose. The owner would position them into cute human like positions and they would just chill like that. It was too cute!! Any one else heard of that guy? I guess he's famous now because of the pics he takes of his posing lizards. Funny.

Yea I have seen that lizard posing guy on TV before, he changed his last name to "Lizardlover" and he has like 50 lizards running aorund his house. He's actually a crackhead & he's got some major issues from what I hear on the reptile forums I visit (kingsnake.com). The TV special gave a tour of his house & it showed him opening his bureau drawers & there'd be a bungh of lizards just chilling in there! Then you'd seen his shower & he'd be letting his lizards drink from the shower head & hang out in the bath tub... and to think the guy showers/baths in the same one, that's not healthY! Apparently he's written books or articles about lizard personalities and how much he loves & kisses his lizards & in fact he names his favorite iguana "Mr. Lovable." How odd is that? I found his website, it has some creepy alien/UFO music playing in the background: http://www.todaysplanet.com/pg/beta/lizardlover/

Wow...I am SOOOOO thrilled to see how many of us are huge animal lovers too! I am sure I am not alone sometimes in thinking "where are all the other people like me who's lives revolve around animals?". This is a common thought when you work in/volunteer for a shelter....seem you hear much more of the bad than the good. I cannot express how happy I am to hear that there are soooo many of you out there....perhap[s there is a reason we are all so into our little friends....tired of people perhaps? who knows... But I know that one day I will be that crazy old "cat lady" down the street. Friends have been saying it my whole life!

I have two of my own shelter kitties one is 9 years old, female, named Season (snoopy-poopy, snoopers,) and the other is 3, male, named Billy (lazyface, little guy,) they are both dark medium haired tabbies.

I always have foster kitties at home too. I actually have a "cat room" that they are in till they are weened. (I foster pregnant mommy cats from the time we know they are preggers till babies are 8 weeks old) I still have one mommy right now as her milk is dying up. Solid white, medium haired, fluffy tailed sweety named Sydnee.
Girls, if any of you have the time and space to do so, please consider fostering for your local animal shelter. It is something that every shelter needs soooo badly. Ill animals, pregnant animals, or ones that simply need to regain trust in humans again. It IS hard to bring them back afterwards, but you know you have helped them find a better and permanent home. It is absolutely THE most important thing I do in life, and so rewarding. If you don't travel much and have a spare room (or even if you don't, you can foster, just only some types of aniamls) PUH-LEEEEEASE consider it.

Not trying to preach guys, just thought I'd post this here for all you animal lovers...

Now, gotta go check out that gallery of all the critter pics!

    My turn !

Whilst two cats live with myself and my flatmate.. they are shared equally. One is mine, the other his.

Unfortunately I cannot turn this place into a mini-zoo... otherwise I would. I have always loved animals over humans... and it is BECAUSE of them that I stay sane as a stripper.

Mine is going 10 years next year! She is a moggy (I think she has Russian Black in her) from the local animal shelter (my mum picked her for me because she was looking up her dress... she is still a perve!). I keep whispering in her ear: 40 years as that is how long I want her to live for...

She is Queen and I know it (I call her "Her Majesty" "Your Royal Highness" etc)... I refer to myself as her head staff member with my flat-mate being secondary staff member. I know my place: I don't own her.. I work for her LOL

Her name is Bibs. My family had a tradition with all the cats we had (I'm an animal lover however was raised around cats) that we would name them primarily after their markings etc. Bibs had this marking that looked like a bib now she just needs one LOL

Whenever she gets happy she can tend to drool a little.

I too want to be the "crazy old cat lady" down the street... well... the one with a mini-zoo none-the-less. Would love to own a huge acerage so I can rehabilitate not just dogs and cats but native animals as well....

    ahh... I can dream...

RYAN, while I agree that factory farming is not ideal, you cannot criticise everyone here by saying that it's wrong to eat meat. That is purely debatable due to individual circumstances and beliefs (though personally I see nothing wrong with it; all part of the great circle of life to me).

Now let's keep talking about pets. I would hate to see this thread take an unwanted divergence into a subject that has nothing to do with it.

And besides, I have no pets but my father does. There are 4 (I think?) goldfish which are the cutest munchers ever! I like fish. Very soothing to watch and I like the way their gold scales glint in the light.

wow not very many of us own big dogs. I noticed many of you own cats, kitten or small house dogs which is cool. I m not really a fan of small dogs because they cannot control their bladder and ended up making a nasty mess all over the house.

Both of my dogs are trained but they only live inside the pen outside with 2 dog houses. They sleep in the garage at nite during winter time or when it's too freezingo outside.

I blame the media for making people thinking that big dogs such as german shehpard, rottweilers, dobies and pit bulls are vicious dogs. They can be vicious if u mistreat them or train them to be that way. I love my dogs so much that I sometimes baby them lol. But they can be very protective. They dont mind kids around them but sometimes kids can be mean and they can harm them.

Oh, but they can! My dog is one of the smallest there is, and he is potty trained, it was easy too. He does have a small bladder. Hurray for Potty Pads! They are little pads approx. 2ft. by 2ft. My kids have their own bathroom! My house has 2 1/2 bath. We don't need all of them, so I put the Potty Pads and litter box in the 1/2 bath. He uses it well along with going in the back yard. My first dog was a miniature dachshund. He was potty trained too. I think that is just a misconception about small dogs. Also, Chihuahuas are not loud little yappers like everyone thinks.
