Right around my 20th B-day. I semi retired over a year ago and haven't worked in months. I am now 28. I began thinking about it after one of my guy pals draged me into a club to see this girl he met at school.

I moved out of the house right after high school and after hustling drinks for a while a friend took me to the club she worked at ant that was it...I was almost 18. Excapt for a vacation for a couple years been dancing ever since.
I started mid way through my freshman year of school to pay the remainder of my tuition. I was 18 and I danced irregularly until the summer, and then danced 6 days a week to pay for this year. It's worked out well for me so far...
For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will long to return.

One month before I turned 23. Like a few of you, I started out at a not-so-crash-hot club and .. now like some of you have since moved onto a better pasture (classier and more $$ club).
I'm now 25... been doing it for over 2 years now. Have my moments when I love it and other times when I hate it. Overall tho' I would much prefer to do this than what I was previously doing!
What I was previously doing was working in cafes - hospitality industry. I have always been a dancer... just didn't realise I could put alot of skills I learnt during my High School years (Speech and Drama, Dancing lessons) to good use.

I had never considered it until I was almost 24, and then I just went and did it. I tried out the first time I walked into a club and had no idea what to expect. I worked for a month in a little seedy place, and soon got the guts to go to one of the bigger and much better clubs. That was 8 years ago. Why? A much deeper question. Besides the exhibitionist tendencies and love for dancing, I couldn't stand the thought of paying someone else to raise my two daughters while I was working 50 hours a week. When my little fairies are all grown up, I will be able to look back and say that I was there for their childhoods, and didn't miss out on watching them grow like so many single moms.
Started when i was 23, at the advice of friends who know my exhibisionistic tendencies, and thought i'd do well as a performer. I really enjoy it like no other job, and i too do not want my son to be subjected to the many downfalls of daycare!
