we recently had a discussion on Mystic Tan vs. airbrush tan
yes it smells. no it shouldn't stain your clothes. I thought it looked very natural. for the record, I went with the Level 3 which is the darkest one.
I used to work at the most upscal stuck up phony tanning salon in the metro Detroit area. I hated it!!! at least i got to try the mystic tan out. I am addicted to the sun SUN Goddessafter the mystic I'll never turn back. It works, all my problems fade away with the mystic tan........oh yeaaaaa
Is there a specific kind that doesnt smell so much? I can just see a guy cringing due to the aroma as I give him a lap dance....hehe!

XoStellaOx, I'm from Sterling Heights. What salon did u work in?

it doesn't smell bad. well, not as bad as fake n bake. You know the fake tan funk? It's not like that.
do you know if there is a mistic tan in las vegas im going to the AVN and need to use one

It smells like vanilla lotion, sort of. I use it on a level two and wear an old bikini - makes beautiful tan lines.
Eyez, there's a website, maybe mystictan.com, that lists all of the mystic tan locations in the US.
Lena
Nicolenna the tanning salon is Sandals tanning salon in troy

yeah, I go in naked for no tan lines but last time the spray made me drool and I had a white stripe tan line down my chin. That's how I discovered they now have Mystic Tan in a spray bottle; The tanning girl sprayed my face with it to fix the drool line. [withstupid]makes beautiful tan lines.

The last time that I did the mystic tan it started to rub of after only 4 or 5 days. Especially after a shower, I could rub it off my body. I didn't get it done again and it has faded horribly. I still have blobs of color in odd spots. Its been at least 3 weeks now and it wont go away. Is this normal?

it doesn't sound normal to me. Are you exfoliating before you tan? I also exfoliate like every other day and use the extender lotion. If you use the extender lotion make sure you wash you hands afterwards or y our palms will turn orange. (the lotion is supposed to extend your tan for 2-3 days)
I have to admit that Im eager to try this, mostly as a way to avoid the long term effects of tanning beds. Up here in the frozen north its tough to find much sun this time of year lol.
SAPPHIRE or any one else knows, how long do you find the Mystic tan lasts??? do you mean its 2-3 days total even using the extender? The first location has just opened up in my city and its still a bit pricy..atleast more than I would want to pay every two days...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can clue me in ;-)
As I have matured,I have learned "that one good turn....usually gets most of the blankets",-)

You need to exfoliate before you go. The tan is basically painted on your top couple layers of skin and as they come off, so does your tan. If you still have blotches you should be able to scrub them off with an exfoliator.
If I just do it once, it lasts 4-5 days. If I do it two days in a row, I then just do it once a week to maintain and it stays dark.
I do it on a level two.
Lena

yes, exfoliation before you go is essential. you shouldn't moisterize beforehand either unless you use what they specifically recommend. something about the oils in lotion will cause you to streak or get blotchy. If you do it once, it should last 4-5 days, like Lena said. The extender lotion will extend it for a couple more days. I like the lotion alot, it smells good and the first ingredient is aloe vera, also it has DHA? in it, oooooh I just grabbed the bottle it also has virgin hemp oil hahaha. It's not the Mystic Tan extender it's called Revive Plus by biddiscombe I got it when I started the airbrush method. I like Mystic Tan better.
also I do the level 3 but I pay an extra $5 to 'upgrade' (like the Cyclone booth) doing level two 2 days in a row sounds intriguing maybe I'll try that next time)

Saph,
Every time I ask them if I can try the level three they tell me that it will turn me orange and that it usually streaks because it's just too much "stuff." Does that mesh with your experience at all?
Lena

well, they told me the same thing about it would make me orange also that hardly anybody uses level 3. So I told them fine then I will come back tomorrow for another level 2. Then when I mentioned I was trying to get as dark as possible for the HT pageant the following day, they decided yeah she should do the level 3. Also I was using the tanning bed as well. It did NOT turn me orange, there were NO streaks. It looked absolutely great. Everyone at work was amazed at how tan I was.
However, my skin is olive colored. I looked at your pic in the gallery and your skin appears to be much lighter than mine. My pic is on page 12 check it out that is how I look without a tan. That is my natural color. So perhaps there is some truth to what they're saying. Probably the best way for you to find out without getting your whole body sprayed with level 3, have someone who airbrushes test a level 3 on a certain part of your body, maybe your legs or even your face?
DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T TRY TO GET A MYSTIC TAN UNLESS YOU WANT STREAKY ORANGE SKIN FOLLOWED BY A SEVERE ICHY RASH THAT WILL ACTUALLY LEAVE STAINED SCRATCH MARKS ON YOUR ARMS IF YOU TRY TO EASE THE INCEDIBLE ITCHING, EVEN WITH ONE LITTLE SCRATCH!
iT IS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY AND MAYBE LASTS HALF A WEEK BUT YOU ARE ORANGE SO ITS NO GOOD!
smart, pretty, horny.........pick two.

Mistresssmoker, maybe you were allergic to it? I've never heard of the mystic tan doing any of that stuff before. Thanks everyone for the advice, I wasn't moisturizing or using the lotion. The results were good before. I can't imagine how much better they'll be now.
Hmmm maybe I should try the mystic rather than the air brush method.? I pay 30 bucks a session for the air brush tan and sometimes she slacks off. How much do you guys pay for 1 session for the Mystic tan?
Lips, Hips, and Sugary Tits

I payed $25 for the first time, then $30 every other time. There are packages that make it cheaper per session if you buy them in bulk. It's not worth it to me because I never know what city I'll be in.

Mistressmoker, Thanks for sharing your experience but DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T TELL US WHAT TO DO OBVIOUSLY YOU WERE ALLERGIC TO IT AND FURTHERMORE IT IS NOT A BIG WASTE OF MONEY CONSIDERING THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO UV RAYS, NO SKIN CANCER CAUSING RAYS ALSO I SAID I DID NOT TURN ORANGE I REPEAT I DID NOT TURN ORANGE I WAS A LOVELY GOLDEN TAN NOT FAKE AT ALL SO I'M GONNA HAVE TO SAY AFTER YEARS OF SUNNING, FAKE N BAKING, AIRBRUSHING NOW MYSTIC TANNING, MYSTIC IS FAVORITE. HEY IF YOU'RE GONNA YELL AT US I'M GONNA YELL RIGHT BACK!DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T TRY TO GET A MYSTIC TAN UNLESS YOU WANT STREAKY ORANGE SKIN FOLLOWED BY A SEVERE ICHY RASH THAT WILL ACTUALLY LEAVE STAINED SCRATCH MARKS ON YOUR ARMS IF YOU TRY TO EASE THE INCEDIBLE ITCHING, EVEN WITH ONE LITTLE SCRATCH!
iT IS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY AND MAYBE LASTS HALF A WEEK BUT YOU ARE ORANGE SO ITS NO GOOD!

As far as cost goes in my area it costs $30 per session (extra for upgrade) But when I signed up I got 2 for 1 also I've seen advertisements buy 2 get 3 free.
There is a new tanning salon by my house in Vegas called Palm Beach Tan. They have a spray-tan called Sun Spray. They say it is better than Mystic Tan. I tried it a few days ago, with much apprehension.
I have a friend who does Mystic Tan and she always looks kind of coppery...not bad, but I have to say after seeing it on myself and a couple other people, I like the tone of Sun Spray better, it looks more natural. They showed me how to do it so that there will be no streaking or blotching.
I really like it, I have no streaking or anything like that and I have HIGHLY sensitive skin and bad allergies, and I did not have an allergic reaction to it. It only smells until you take a shower (and it doesn't even smell bad, just kind of funky). The residue rinses off and leaves no odor.
It only costs $15 per session and it lasts 7-10 days. It's been about 5 days for me and the color has barely faded. I'm an addict now and highly recommend it...has anyone else used Sun Spray?
