    Default ARE YOU FAT?

Why do fat girls dance? Im not trying to offend anyone here but I went to a club and saw some of the most unattractive dancers...They were FAT. like not just a little bit of cheesecake thighs..im talking rolls and cellulite that u wanna turn away from when u look at it. i dont think im the thinnist person in the world, but if i looked like that i wouldnt go out of the house let alone get on stage for everyone to critique! i mean - do these girls make money...do they put out or are they just getting sympathy tips. i dont know how the clubs could even hire girls that big. are they not embarrassed? (the girls OR the club)
THE MEN ARE ALL THE SAME YOU DON`T LOOK AT THEIR FACES AND YOU DON`T ASK THEIR NAMES YOU DON`T THINK OF THEM AS HUMAN YOU DON`T THINK OF THEM AT ALL YOU keep ur mind on the money and eyes on the wall

whoa....variety is the spice of life! Guys like all types and anyone that really understand this business knows looks aren't everything to making money in this business.

Besides, fat or not, self-confidence is a good thing.

If you think you are above the calibre of dancers at a particular club, then don't work there. Leave the embarrassment to someone else.

I agree with Emily. Though I dont personally find lots of rolls and fat attractive, guys like different things. I work in a upscale gown club that is nude, and we are known for having the most beautiful girls in the area. We have a couple of girls that I wouldnt think would make any money, but those girls go home with more than the rest of us every night! Rock on to those men who love women, curvy or not. I think the amount of confidence you have in your body is very important. I'm only 110 pounds, but hell, it gives you something to hold on to!!!!! Naked hugs, Cagney

No darliing. I'm not fat....but I have a little belly and soft round hips. For my body type and style I wouldn't trade it for a hard body, ever. Us girls who are seen as a little overweight who carry it confidently....well.....we can make a killing if we set our hearts to it .

when i first read this i was like OMG, no she did not. But i see where Asia is coming from/getting at. Like Emily said "variety is the spice of life," i couldn't agree more. However, there is a point where one tends to question being too weighty(now this does not translate into curvacious/ marilyn monroe types)...i am talking obese. Here in Indy, where i live*go to tuscl.com/babes west* this club has a horrible rep for "fat girls" and has ruined there cleintele, and decent dancer base. Think of it this way, if you are attempting to take care of yourself, you will have NO problem being healthy! Also, for some that will say "that's not fair...blah, blah, blah" DEAL. If some guy who weighed 350lbs tried out for the NBA he'd be laughed out(not because of his LOOK, but he's just not suited to THAT profession). we as dancers are selling our LOOK, if you find a club to support your particular look, all the power to ya, but know if you are obese, your options(in many things) are going to be limited!

Very true, airlines had or still do a strict weight limit on the hostess. Alot of jobs will pick a woman/man who looks fit or thin compared to a very heavy or obese person. First most jobs come with benefits, and a very heavy person is more likely to have health problems, so insurance for health gets used more often. The corporate world like to cut costs.

I don't like this attitude. I think they discriminate, hell they do.

Dancing has no health benefits, so no worry there. Also these women probably feel good about themsleves. They may or may not make good money, but i have read (even from my posts) how so many of us are worried about our weight, cellulite etc. And that is good, we are trying to stay healthy while this attitude makes us look good.

But my HATS off to these heavier or fat women dancing. Hell they make a buck, get to lose some weight while dancing, it's good cardio, and they must have one hell of a self esteem!!!!

Also we have men all over the world who would not give the Pamela Anderson types a glance, but would jump for a fat woman. Alot of guys are very heavy too, and would feel comfortable with a very heavy woman. The way some think (and this is true) is that they will have a better chance keeping her, or getting attention from her in the strip club more so than with a thin lady. I see fatter then normal women all over the place with heavy men. They match up! And some heavy women with a thinner man, some guys LOVE BBW.

One club I worked at.....closed now thank goodness..was nicknamed "The Cow Palace" because the owner started to let anyone come in off the street to dance. I see what is being said too..there is a difference in being voluptuosly sexy and obese. I remember the guy's at the stage looking at each other laughing..a lot even walked out which meant..if she was the first girl on stage..it ruined it for the rest of us waiting to go on. One of the girl's finally got pissed off one day and asked an obese girl..What the hell do you think your doing? She said Hey, I've got huge tit's baby"..but the girl didn't even recognize that she had cellulite 3 inches deep all over her and the guy's were practically gagging. I think when owner just hire anyone to put a warm body on stage..it gives the obese girl's the wrong idea that they have what it takes and that all it takes is BIG tits. Are there any BBW stripclubs? A lot of guy's go to club's to see girl's who they can't see on the street or at home right? That's why we do our makeup, hair and costume's and try to stay in shape right? It is all about a certain look. This sound's like it happens in a lot of little neighborhood clubs..am I wrong? I'm super skinny and have issue's with it..but it did really bug me when a 200+ lb girl was flopping around on stage..no pole work, nothing..I worked hard to put my show's on and it sucked to lose customer's to that. I never said anything to the girl's cause finally I quit. It closed shortly after.

i'm about a size 8... i am 5'7" and 140lbs... i'm curvy in the tummy and the hips area...but i also am recovered from a horrible eating disorder...i used to weigh 90lbs at 5'7"... i was inpatient in an upstate nj e.d.u. for 1 year and outpatient for 6 months...it has been a long road to recovery...
sure there are days when i hate myself and i can't seem to make any money...but hey we all have those days...i have been doing this for only 2 weeks...but sofar (a few bad nights aside) i think that dancing may be thearaputic for me in a way...
i'm learning that men like ALL kinds of women... yes even obese ones... and i may not necessarily find it attractive...but more power to these ladies... no one has the right to make them or anyone feel less than.... no one is better than you... "We are all citizens of the womb before we subdivide"... and all women are beautiful in one way or another... MORE POWER TO THEM!!!! they are revolutionary in a way.... fighting stereotypes and shaking what they've got... i think it's awesome....

Totally disagree,if someone doesnt want to be thought less of or made fun of thats way over weight ,thats fine, but its not fine in our business, there is no excuse for it,Iam not talking 15 pounds over weight but more,my sister is 5 feet 5 between 130-135 and I could not get her hired were I work and I have actually worked at places that weigh you and If you are considered overwieght in their book you are gone, its no worse than me getting made fun of when I was 102 by people.I work hard to stay in shape, when I worked at the doll house I was 118-120 and Iam 5 feet 6 and a half and girls that new me when I was 102 said oh she is fat and shouldnt be working she had a baby, and that was 120 pounds size six,so I dont have sympothy.

michele... you are entitled to your own opinion... i'm just speaking as someone who has been through hell and back with my body issues...
yeah i work hard to stay in shape to...AND to resist the temptations of my eating disorder...
i'm not asking for sympathy... i'm just sharing my very personal experience and opinions with the forums...
what state do you work in if you don't mind me asking?
i think that's awful the way you were treated...and i am very sorry that happened to you....people can be assholes...
and since you know how it feels to be put down... i would think you might feel differently... but to each her own, right?

Heidi,in real life I would never put anyone down for being overweight,my mother and best friend are 80 pounds overweight, but that much overwieght has no reason being in our business is all Iam saying,if girls that are 200 pounds dont want to get made fun of then they should not be dancing, yes girls said bad things about me at 120 pounds, but I wasnt 200 and dont think strippers should be either,It was in florida.

    Michele,

One of the most important components of a successful stripper is self confidence. If other girls laughed at me for being 120 pounds.....and right now I am 125-130......I'd tell them to kiss my juicy ass. And then turn around and make $$. i understand that you come from a SC environment that is VERY competitive and VERy cut throat. I mean most places would not even give a few extra pounds a second thought. It is all relative! In some places, i would be considered obese. We should not be slave to other people's criticism. Do what you gotta do to feel good about yourself. Then go out to impress.

Even though I understand where you all are coming from,I can't help but ask why you all care? I understand that thicker girls may hurt the club in terms of reputation but that seems to be the only reason. And I doubt that having a few thicker girls working at a club is going to bring it down. If you work at a club with a lot of fat women and you feel its hurting your money then move to another club. But if it isn't hurting your income and your just mad because it makes you sick then thats kind of stupid and immature. The fat girl thats on stage that all the guys are laughing at isn't paying your bills so why do you care if she's up there? If she feels good enough about herself to go up there then more power to her. And if it really bothers you then that is your problem, not her's. I am very petite(5'1 105lbs) and I feel very self conscience about myself a lot of the time so I work out a lot and eat well but I constantly worry about it. If these girls don't have that stress then I am very envious of that. I do understand where you all are coming from but in my opinion, until these "fat" women are paying your car and house payment and feeding your kids, pets etc then quit worrying about it. We have enough stress in our lives to worry about such trivial things.

    Wow.

I don't think we really need to worry about how other girls look. We work in a free market system that will automatically shuffle some girls to the bottom of the pile. If they aren't being shuffled down, perhaps you should either attempt to shuffle yourself up, or just get over it.

OTOH, I have known some beautiful women and some top earners that were overweight.

Actually, I just realized this week that I'm not fat... I had stopped dancing and gained some weight, and then went back to dancing and working out. So I've been dancing and working out and feeling fat for a few months now and last week I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror while dancing and I was like, wow, I'm not fat. A little soft, maybe. Fat, no. And then I started wondering how long I've been thinking I was fat when I wasn't?

I think the business plays enough mind games with us about our body without us insulting each other.

All types of girls make money. Some are easier on the eyes than the other, but fat girls have game too. A manager told me about a girl at a club he used to manage and I think its the smartest thing I've ever heard of. There was a fat chick at this club, this was mid90s in a neighborhood club, who loved to wear pink and a customer called her miss piggy and to embarass her bought her a miss piggy costume and doll. She worked that shit. Started doing her makeup and hair like miss piggy and she made money hand over fist b/c guys were cracking jokes and buying dances for their friends with Miss Piggy just to have a laugh. She was top earner at the club for a couple of years.
I personally do not care what another girl looks like as long as she can hold her own, stay outta my way and follow the hustler's code. I'd treat a fat girl the same as any other girl as long as she followed the rules. She is only embarassing herself if in fact her weight is even an issue for her, if not she's happy how she looks so why should I care. I've never wondered if the superskinny girls are embarassed for looking so emaciated so why should the reverse be true?

Wooa! Touchy subject. Well, first, I'm not fat and look really good. But still, regardless of how good you look, there's always room for improvement. I think girls who are thicker due to a natural muscle mass are a compliment to a high end club, seeing that most girls are to skinny. I looked at Club Paradise one time in Vegas, and maybe I was there when the less attractive girls were there, but them girls looked like they needed to eat a decent meal. I am thin and encourage thinness not specifically for looks, but health reasons. But when you can see bones, that's just as disgusting as exposed fat rolls. I went to one club just to see the women because I had heard they were so big, I wanted to see how a club like that operated. There was one thin, actually nasty anerexia looking skinny girl there, and the rest were fat, not muscle or curvy, box of Krispy Kreme a day type. What impressed me was the one that swung on the pole, flip upside down type up swing, but you could see the pole moving like it was going to break from the ceiling. :oAnyway, point of my story is, there are men that like big women, although most don't and I see nothing wrong with them wanting to dance. But, I think the clubs should hire to the type of women it claims work there. I mean, if that little club is known for having big women there and the men go, then they know what they're getting and won't be making fun. They'll appreciate them. After all, they have clubs for thin women only like Club Paradise, why not for heavy women? I gotta say though, heavy women have great self esteem and are generaly happy not only with themselves, but with life as well. Most I see are always in a good mood. Over all, as Alex75 said, who cares what other girls look like, care about yourself.

I don't think we're talking about thick girls, I think we're talking about girls who are FAT. Yes, I understand that variety is the spice of life and that self confidence is key to making money but I do think the line needs to be drawn somewhere.

Why do I care? Because I would MUCH RATHER follow an attractive girl on the rotation than someone who is seriously overweight. It sucks following a crowd clearer.

My thoughts exactly. I have to work twice as hard to get the crowd going if I follow our club's fat girl, and I have watched MORE THAN A FEW guys walk in, see her on stage, then walk out (and this chick is getting even fatter lately :o ). It's hard enough making money these days without some fatass scaring away the few customers we have!

I'd give more power to those ladies who put on weight on themselves. At my club there's a lot of competition going on and lately I've seen dancers whom I haven't seen in a long time returned. And they have gained weight! When I m on the floor going around making money I've noticed some dancers who are overweight had a hard time making money some are lucky to make money.

Some customer would snicker and talk about her after she leaves. But it didnt put her down, she's walking away with their money they had spend on. Those same dancers would comment that I looked good and I thanked them of course but I couldnt say the same for them. I didnt want to sound mean or rude but they would say I know I gained weight and need to lose it. I tell them why worry when u could make money anyway. Men love women in all shape, size and color. And they seems feel a little better.

Maybe you should stop worrying about what the other girls look like. I am "fat". I'm not slim or weigh the normal 100. I weigh 135 at 5'1". I have a huge but, and a VERY small flat waist. I don't have celuite.. but I do certain exercises that make my butt and thighs BIG. I love it. AND guys love it. I have meat on me, and I wouldn't have it anyother way.

Don't get me wrong, thin girls are GORGEOUS. But, I love my body for me.

Worry about yourself.. we fat girls will dance as long as we please.

Oh, and I don't have to put out.. I have a personality and some moves that make me a hell of a nice bit of money.

One thing I wanted to say is that normal employers, like airlines hiring for Flight attendants, can NOT hire because of weight, its illegal. I worked as a flight attendent and saw some that where big, and may not be able to fit out the window exits. Also at 5'5 and 130-135 is not overweight, if you are naturally skinny and have all fat then it may not look so good, but I my sister weighs that and is a size 4. I give more power to "fat" girls that dance, and dont worry about going after them on stage, if guys dont like her they can save their money for me!

Like most of you girls said, there ARE limits. Sometimes I'm thinking, "why would she want all that fat and cellulite exposed?"
Anyway, I think it's better for other dancers though, because while there are still 20 girls a night (for example) if 2 of them are actually FAT, it improves my chances of getting dances, because many guys will choose me over her...

I'm not a fat ass, so don't think my response is to defend myself, and I might even get introuble for posting this, but I feel strongly about it. "Why do fat girls dance?" You know I seriously thought there were honestly no stupid questions, but this is the most ignorant question I have ever heard. Maybe you needed to learn more manners growing up, I dunno, maybe you just weren't thinking when you posted that question. All girls that dance have their own reasons for doing it. Money for bills or school, just because they love to dance, or just because it makes them feel sexy. If I were significantly overweight and did not feel good about myself, but when I danced it was the only time I felt like a normal person than I would shake my "fat" ass all day and all night. Maybe to you it doesn't look good for a "fat" person to be stripping and maybe to some men too, but maybe to a "fat" person or some men they don't think your'e good enough to be stripping because of some flaw they see in you.

I'm not just talking to whoever posted that ignorant question, but to all the people who feel the same way she does. Worry about yourself, unless you really have no life that you have to worry about somebody else that you don't even know.
