sorry but not only is 300 a night feasable but i wouldnt work in a club where i couldnt make that. the club i currently work at is no contact from the customer minimal contact from the dancer. i know that this is not the case in a lot of places but you just have to search the right club out. i travel 200 miles twice a month but it is well worth it . now i'm not saying i never have a bad night but a bad night so far for the last 2 years was 200. the dances are 30 we keep 25. tip out is low 20 plus dj and bouncers. i am in now way trying to brag or make anyone feel bad, i just couldnt help responding to the 300 remark

personally, i'd consider $300 a night bad in the area i live in, too. the point was that not EVERYONE can make that or be made to feel as though they're doing something wrong if they don't. in some areas, cost of living is such that $300 goes a whole lot further then twice that or more... $300 a night may be a spit in the ocean in Manhattan but be an absolute fortune in Poodunk Town, USA.

My rent is only $400. I don't have to make anywhere near $300/night to cover my expenses nicely and have some to put away. Which is good, because I usually don't.

Honestly, if I was making what I make here in a Big City, I'd give up and find another line of work. But I assume that the money goes up in bigger cities, too, but your expenses also rise, so probably I'm doing about average after all bills and stuff are considered.

From my travels since 9/11, I have to report that the vast majority of clubs in medium sized cities, as well as the vast majority of "less than top shelf" clubs in large cities, now seem to be offering earning potentials averaging less than $250-$300 a night. A small percentage of girls working in these clubs may do slightly better, while some other girls may do worse. But the bottom line is that, other than in the handful of "top shelf" clubs, fewer customers are coming into the clubs and those customers that remain are walking in the front door of most clubs with less money to spend. Since the clubowners haven't reduced the number of dancers this guarantees less money for everybody. In fact, some clubowners have actually increased the number of dancers in order to earn more for the club in stage fees, which only aggravates the low earnings per dancer situation.

But even at a $250 a night 5 night a week level you're still talking $1250 a week = $ 62,500 annual gross income. With creative tax reporting and deductions you're talking at the very least a $40,000-$45,000 net income after taxes. To earn the same net income with a "straight job" and "employee" tax rates would indeed require a $70,000+ gross income. In the current economic climate, even a bachelor's degree in a highly desireable major will NOT result in landing a "straight job" with anywhere near this kind of earning potential. Of course a "straight job" would not involve being nude in front of a roomful of guys or having your tits and ass grabbed several times a night, either!

I also completely agree that earning $250 a night consistently in a medium sized city with an affordable cost of living, halfway reasonable property values and rents etc. can result in a very comfortable life. The same $250 a night earnings in a large city where the tax rates are high, retail prices are high, and property values and rents are astronomical can be a formula for bankruptcy! Everything is relative! While I often work in the NYC/NJ area, I actually live quite a ways outside of this area in the "boonies", where the property values and rents are only 1/2, retail prices are lower, and local taxes are lower too. As I increasingly do more and more website/webcam work and less live dancing, there's absolutely no justification for me to live closer to the big metro areas. I'm actually much better off driving to the city and staying in a reasonably priced motel for the week (and taking the deduction for the travel and accomodation expenses).

A lot of variables are associated with earnings. I have travelled all over the country to clubs working and checking them out, both upscale and middle of the road clubs. The first thing that must be noted is that without enough customers we have no income. Next the type of customer matters. The older 35 to retirement age guys are the type normally to spend more money. The ratio of dancers to customers matters. If you have 60 girls and 72 customers and most of the customers are occupied with other girls sitting with them you are limited to what you can work.

Case in point. I am back in Houston now working here and there during the holidays and on Friday afternoon the club is always busy with the older clientele. I made $200 in 6 hours net. We had about 50+ girls way more than normal. In Houston the money is mde off of1 or 2 guys. Stage tips are nonexistant and with so many girls you are limited to the amount of guys you can approach as guys expect you to sit and talk before they buy dances. Some days the several guys you are able to sell won't part with as much as other days. A few regulars help, but they cannot be counted on 5 days a week and they don't always spend top dollar every tim they come in the club.

Both upscale and ordinary clubs attract younger customers. These guys for the most part won't spend $100+ on a girl. Some nights there aren't many older guys with money to spend to work and you might only make $100 or less.

I worked Sunday the 22nd during the aftenoon as I used to do when I was in Houston before. We usually had 12 girls or so and about 20 customers at one time tops but I usualy made $250-$325 from 1-7. This Sunday the older guys who usually come in were not there and we had 19 girls. I netted $23. Several friends of mine who work 5 days a week said during the last 7 months since I've been on the road working they are only making $700-800 a week in 5 shifts. They used to make $1300+ in the same amount of days. The clientele has changed too. Less busines travelers and more girls working each day. I saw an old co-worker of mine working in Dallas at The Penthouse Key Club Thursday and out of about 25 girls working only 3-4 lookedto be making several hundred dollars. She told me to make $200-$400 a day you usually ned to work a double shift. They had some decent looking customers bu the club wasn't busy enough and the guys who bought dances were only getting 1 and maybe 2 at a time.

In Houston several Thursdays ago I heard there were 107 girls onthe floor. Business is slower now .

Right beforeI left South Dakota for the holidays, on the weekend nights combined I mde less than $200. Before December I would make about $600 on Friday and saturday combined. At The Northern in Fargo ND the money dropped for my 6 night booking down to $1299 for the week. Usually at each club I mentioned I average $1700 or so for a weks booking. Why did the money drop? There were less older customers in the clubs. The guys who usually came in were not around.

So when you mention $250- $300 + per nigh all the time that is not always posible if the business is down and your target customers are not patronizing the clubs in large enough numbers where there is enough money to spread around for most of the girls working to make money.

I don't care what city you go to, there aretoo many dancers and less spending customers and less customers period. And even whn I work bookings with a set amount of girls there are a few nights each week whereit is just slow. The booking clubs in the Midwest fore the most part pay $300-$450 per week in cash on saturday nights so a $125 night ='s close to $200, but the business varies or to state it in club lingo is "up and down". So whensomeone tells me they make $500 a night I know that doesn't happen every night and I only measure the earnings of girls who put in 5-6 days/nights a week because that is the only way you can truly tell how consistent your money is.

Since I've started working bookings in the MidWest my AVERAGE earnings on the road are about $260 a night vs $213 a day in Houston. I will just barely hit $60,000 this year in club earnings but I work a lot more days than many dancers do.

I keep saying this business has reached it's peak and is on a downward slide. Houston clubs are known for being some of thefanciest in theUnited States which theyare and also known for the "extras" made available from certain girls. Th clubs here are heaven for the guys but they still are slow and so arete modeling studios. Guys can't go to these places if they have a wife expecting thm home at a certain time and if less businss travelers are coming to town and thereisless expense account money to blow in clubs, the club volume will be slower than several years ago and it is. It is this way in all major cities to some degree.

Every girl I know who has good nights has bad ones too in the same week. Jane might make $450 today and $40 tomorrow. With so many more girls on the floor now than several years ago the guys have too much eye candy and are choosier on how they spend their money. That is theproblem with Las Vegas.

$200 is becoming a good night in this business now.A dancer cannot take that amount of net earnings for granted anymore. It may not be what we want to earn but we cannot control the amount and type of customers that walk in the club doors. You can go from city to city. One might be a little better than another but not drastically.

Phoenix is highly competitive with lots of girls and clubs. And with dances at $10, and lots more girls working the floor the club will have to be constantly busy for you to net $200+.

If you want to try it out, the best clubs are Christies, Babes(they only hire 1 out 0f 35 girls who audition), Hi Liter, Centerfolds, Bourbon Street and Amazons. Possibly add the Candy Store as a last resort.

Personally I would recommend Tucson as there are less clubs per capita and not quite as many girls (although new dancers seem to come out of the woodwork nowadays).

Tens, TD's East or West, or Curves are the best clubs. Curves auditions between 7-10 nightly.

Keep in mind the low dance prices there but they have VIP and Champagne Rooms and the clubs are busy from Happy Hour on up to closing 7 days a week.

What is up with Platinum Plus in Portland Maine? Is it still a good money maker?

    Candigrl,

I thought I was the only programming stripper. I hope this doesn't sound snobbish, but you might want to consider learning object oriented language like C++ java or smalltalk (if you haven't already). I think that would leave you more opportunities when you are done dancing (and these languages are just more fun -- COBOL --yuck). The market is still good for real programmers. Most of the entry level jobs are clogged with the pseudo-programmers (very high level languages; only internet experience etc.) that grew out of the wood work with the internet boom

After working in IT I'm sure you'll find the hours are way better for dancers and there is only slightly more unwanted leers and groping.

I would never work at a place making less than 600 - 700 night. I worked at Scores or 3 years and it got to the point where I was only making 400 anight which is really bad to me. Beinng naked from 8 to 4 is worth no less than 600. I now work at Penthouse making 1,000 every night!!!!!!

Lately, it's been slow in Baltimore, but to average at least $300 nightly is okay with me. Because I know after I get my boobs done at the end of the year, I'm leaving Baltimore for a while. The clubs here suck so BAD!! But, I do have something to look for; Larry Flynt's Hustler Club is opening on Nov.12!!

This is wierd, about juliet posting just last year at this time that she never worked in upscale clubs, but everywere else on this board she remarks how she has worked at penthouse, scores, vips and houstan and has been at all these clubs for 4 years, was most of her quotes, kind of odd how she is in 4or 5 places at once always, then claims to work at penthouse know, but last month posted how she auditioned at ggr,who the hell would even go to ggr if they are making 1000 a night at penthouse, also I myself work on and off at crazy horse(VIPS) for 7 years and make more than enough their to have that as one of the only clubs I frequent, just thought it kind of odd and would like to call her out on it,I mean there are compulsive liars out their, but I dont think shes one of them, just wondering about all the inconsistency, she is a really pretty girl, why lie.

Chair, a lot of dancers don't make $250-$300 EVERY night they work. You do the math. The clientele varies every night, some nights there are as many dancers or more than customers, bottom line is that the money isn't there every night.

Nowadays over 70% of dancers AVERAGE less than $200 per night. Many girls for some strange reason feel ashamed to be honest when there is really nothing to be ashamed of. If you have 50 dancers and 50 guys walk in the door for the entire night, and only a certain percentage of guys buy dances anyway, how can the majority of girls earn that much?

You have a disproportionate amount of dancers on this board who are well above average in looks, are young and hard bodied, polished and some have modeled in Playboy and the like. These are the girls who work in ritzy titzy clubs where if they possess good people skills, are friendly, and excellent sales people may earn $500-$1000 with some regularity after tip outs and $250 on a bad day. There are lots of above average looking dancers who can't work in Scores and the like because there just aren't enough clubs and target customers that Scores caters to, to go around.

Some but not all of those girls turn their noses up at a blue collar customer and fail to understand that their reality for the time being isn't everyones. That is like an professional athlete criticizing a minor league players earnings and not understanding that everyone can't make the majors and that everyone who does is not a starter.Let these girls gain 5-10 pounds which is ok at a normal club and see how fast they can be replaced by another young upcoming beauty.

Granted some dancers could improve their appear-
ances and stop being so shy and approach every customer in order to sell more dances, but when the business isn't there which it is not every night in ANY club, looks mean nothing if there is no money.

Don't hold your head down Chair, many dancers experience nights like this, $215, $75, $40, $300, $173, $185, $85, $122, $279, $128, $675, $507, $23, $147, $104, $92, $54, $151,$200, $108 and tell you only about the $500 and $600 nights. And the $507 and $675 amounts could have come from regulars who come in once a month. Those figures average $183 a night working 20 days a month. And that can be at a high end club since competition is stiff in those nowadys.Just because a club is so called upscale doesn't mean you can make more money on average in it than a smaller one. You have more competittion in a fancy club and in a smaller club can have a better chance of stealing the show.

Above I posted a 20 day months worth of realistic earnings for thousands of dancers nowadays and some do worse. A select few do better given special circumstances. And when a new dance ordinance hits a city this $183 average can turn into $100 real fast.

Hopefully all of us who are honest and not ashamed of our earnings can use this site to share ways to sell more dances and get more tips out of guys who are more and more hesitant to spend money.

Rule of thumb, don't listen to girls who only talk about the stellar nights and not the slow and ordinary ones.

Michele, I agree. Juliet says she has worked in upscale clubs for years, so I don't know why she was on here pretending to be a new dancer asking if she was cut out for upscale clubs. On tuscl.com if you go to VIP's in Chicago's reviews, she writes about herself under the name "instant" (if you click on the name instant you can see that it is her email address, it was one she posted here awhile ago) she says "look for a stunningly gorgeous brunette named Juliet" Now it sounds like I have way too much time on my hands. lol I'm just observant when it comes to stuff like this.

Juliet I don't mean to be picking on you, I just don't understand why you would post here pretending to be new asking if you're cut out for upscale clubs and writing reviews about yourself on tuscl. I saw your pictures in the gallery on here-you're one of the prettiest girls on here. You have a gorgeous face and a body I would kill for-I think you're a perfect 10. You should be totally confident with the way you look.

If I made less than 400 a night I would consider it a HORRIBLE night. The absolute minimum is 500, where I fell "Ok, tomorrow is another night and I'll make that 1000"

Earning potential is all relative not only to the girl as dancer/entertainer but where she lives and what is important to her.
Myself as a college student working in a college town, I'm happy with 700-1000 a week working 3 days a week. Here that provides for a pretty comfortable cushion that in this area of this state is better than a lot of full time positions available held with or without a degree. Here you are thankful for what you are able to bring home dancing though to some of you I guess you would not. ( to each there own )
And yes I know that traveling has a higher earning potential but money is not everything. There are some things more valuable and more important. I did the traveling thing for a while and found it just not to be worth it. Such as risking the long trips on highway 95, working in a bigger club with 100+ girls half whom are doing extras (not downing these clubs just saying that I rather be in a small club where i know there is nothing extra going on) being able to be home every night to cuddle up with my boyfriend, just being in my own bed, or being closer to my friends. To me it's worth not making the extra money.
I know to some it is and that is great but don't judge or say what should or should not be worth it to me.
    i love my christopher

Where are the best clubs in NY? Which club do you work in and which ones would you recommend?

I'm from the UK. I really want to try dancing abroad and I want to make sure I make bloody good money. I haven't been to America before and after I sort out some personal stuff and get this semester of uni outta my face, I want to shake my buns overseas! I am a black girl (to be p.c, I am black but I am actually more of a brown complexion) - are there any places that would be recommended for my ethnicity? ???

Default Re: For girls averaging less than $250-$300/night

Juliet, while I appreciate any advice that I have not learned on my own in the last 10 years, I live in a state that has extremely strict and enforced laws, including NO FOOD or ALCOHOL. This makes a tremendous difference. I work at a gentleman's club and have perfectly manicured nails.
I continue to do this job because where else can I show up for work at 10pm, only to leave at 2am when the law requires us to close? Where else can I work an extra day or two to pick up a little extra money?
And last I checked, I couldn't just take the rest of the week off due to one good night at any other job without getting fired!!
I travel two or three times a year, but as a single parent, that is not always an option.
Though, I am grateful for the thought and effort, please check all of the facts in every area before making these bold, generalized and yet extremely simplistic statements!
