Default Where do you work and what is the average $$?

It seems pretty clear from this board that dancers in some cities make a lot more than dancers in other places. So where are that cities and states where the money potential is the highest/lowest?

I'm in Austin Texas. At my club on Sun-Thursday there are more dancers than customers. So during the week girls make 0-400, with most taking home about 200(or less). On weekends most girls take home 300-500. Of course some girls will consistently make more than others. And everyone has an occasional great night, or shit night. Shitty nights are common, theres always a few girls who go home with less than $100.

So what does the average dancer (not the top earners) make in your area?

Mariah i can't speak for any other state, or many counties for that matter. I have only danced south Florida. I did great. I moved more up the coast now, and don't club dance anymore. I earned from $800 take home to $400 take home, with lots of work put into my job. And this was when i was working 6 hour shifts, not 4.

I have gone home with alot less. But for the most part, i learned the busy nights, built my client base well, and went from there.

I could not answer what the other dancers made. I never got too close to any in the club, i did not want problems. So i can only speak for me. Would this money happen today, i don't think so. Dancing has changed.

A lot of girls are saying that NYC is not what it used to be, but my friends who dance still average 700-1000 a night at a club like Privilege. I dance in Long island and don't remember making less than 600 on a saturday night. I would say thats my average for any other night though.

I work in a nude club in Los Angeles. I generally work 4 days a week for 4-5 hours at a time, with one 8 hour shift during the week. With this schedule, I average between 2K-3K weekly. A poor night for me would be between 300 and 400 for a 5 hour shift, while a "good" night would net me between 700-900.

There is one interesting phenomenon at my club, and I would love to hear other peoples opinions on this. I have noticed that I tend to make as much or more money during the week as I do on weekends. I feel that while the quantity of customers is higher on the weekends, the quality of customer tends to be higher during the week. By this I mean that the average customer that comes in during the week intends to spend money on dances ( and IMO is generally more respectful of the dancers and their working environment). Meanwhile, the customers that come in during the weekend tend to be a more varied lot and may or may not plan to spend any money. It also doesn't help that a large percentage of them seem to be under the influence of something (I know conventional wisdom has it that drunk customers are bigger spenders but experience has shown me that it just makes for a more obnoxious customer). When you combine this with the fact that there are generally twice as many girls working during the weekends, you can see why I'd find it more difficult to make money. This may be individual to me however, as I am not exactly what you would call a party girl and I tend to get overwhelmed in large crowds.

So, while I may not be a big baller pulling in 1000-1500 a night on a regular basis, I consider myself fortunate to be able to make good money on a consistent basis. Now, whether the proposed ordinance banning lap dances in Los Angeles will eventually impact me is another story however. In the meantime, I continue to work and save a large percentage of my earnings, which can be difficult when you have bills and have centered your lifestyle around a certain level of income. I guess recent events have taught me just how precarious the money from this profession can be.

I have danced in the South for over two years. Because of the large area, I can only say $$ depends on the club.. I have been in Memphis for a year. Usually on weekends I'll make 300-400 a night. There are girls who make more, and I assume we all work really hard. My club is free agent...can leave when you want. Some nights I stay 9 hours. I'd give a lot to work in a club for 6 hours and make $600! Good nights for me usually depend on one or two good customers. Funny thiong is, my club is SOOO busy, but there are many many dancers, which makes it hard to make $$.

Wow! You girls are making a killing compared to girls here. My club during the week has 30-50 dancers and often only 10-20 customers there at one time. Thats why lots of girls go home with squat. On the weekends it gets packed but then there are 60-100 girls.

Maybe its time I find a new club or start packing my bags...

I work in Philly and I think a good hustler will make $500ish average and a decent hustler with decent looks in a typical medium-contact bar (i.e. ME) makes in the $300-400 avg range, per night.

I work in Puerto Rico, and an average night here for most girls is about $200 on slower nights, $300-400 on busier nights. The better earners generally average $350-400 per night, based on a week's earnings - or $200-300 on slower nights, $400-600 on busier nights. On certain nights, it is virtually impossible to make more than $200-300, and on others, a bad night would be less than $400.

The good thing about this club is, even though 'normal' averages aren't that high, we do get some big spenders pretty regularly making it possible to make $600-1k a few times a month, and over 1k about once-twice a month. We are moving from slow to high season right now, and most are averaging $100-250, with the occasional good night thrown in. In season, most girls pull 1k to 1500 per week, better earners pull about 2k+ per week.

However, this is a VERY small club, and an influx of even a handful of girls makes it MUCH harder to make money. The difference in potential when we have 12 girls vs 16 on a shift is amazing, but working still puts money in your garter here. Alot of the girls here are quite lazy, and hardly approach customers. Those of us who do, always make alot more.

Mariah, I'm sure you are aware I used to work in Austin. From what I could tell, there hasn't been any good money in Austin for a long time. I'd say you are probably a top earner there, and from your pics and posts you could do much better elsewhere. If you don't have any major commitments in ATX, I think you should think about moving on.

I work in Nashville. Week nights are generally 200-400. Not a lot more than that. Weekends are better. 250-700. The gals who make more are the "super stripper" type who have a loyal regular clientele. ALSO, the girls who are making 1000 a night are generally in their late late twenties or early thirties. Is this a phenomenon in Nashville only or are the 25-35 girls making more in your club, too?

    Hi mariah!

I'm from Texas too.....Houston. On a slow night with one or two customers I make about 250-350. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It usually falls between those 2 numbers though. On a great night, up to a thousand. I don't consider myself a top earner by any means. These are the figures of someone who knows business and psychology. Isn't that your major?

Mariah, you are two itty bitty hours away from here. If you want, PM me. Maybe there is better luck for you in Houston. And no, it's not as bad as other people make it.

Yes, this is normal. Those girls have normally been around longer and learned how to play the game better, but are still young and young-looking enough to compete looks-wise with the younger girls. I have also seen women in their 40s making great money - these are the exceptional ones who take great care of their bodies and look very young for their ages, and who REALLY know how to play the game.

I only work on the weekends and Thursday. Latley my take home on Thursday is 300-400, Friday 600-700 and Saturday 700-800. Granted I am a hustler and work my ass off while I am there. I have no idea if this is normal for everyone I work with. They could make more or they could make less. I work in a topless gown club where they serve drinks. In our area if you want to serve drinks you need to be topless not nude. Oh by the way I work in Minneapolis

In the Pittsburgh area most girls at most clubs are averaging 50-200 during the week and 1-400 on the weekends, depending on the club and the girl. The top girls at the top clubs of course make money all the time. I work at a club where if I work three days a week I am pretty much guaranteed a fifty dollar day, 1-200 day, and a 500+ day. It's almost impossible to predict the days :-(

I work in NY and make at least $700 a night. I work four shifts and usually I' ll make $700 two of the nights and then the other two I will make $1200 - $1600. I would never work in a place where I make less than $600 a night. For what we all put up with we deserve to make that much!

I am going to Puerto Rico to dance on wensday. Pay $40 a shift, 5 nights a weeks, 9p-3am. I hope to make at least $100 a night in tips. They provide housing for $50 a week and we have a small nightly tipout. The girls stay 3 months at a time. The owner says this is a no sex in the lap dance room club. I will find out wensday. I checked online and alot of the clubs are sex clubs there. I live in Tampa, Fl. and most of the clubs here are sex clubs. $150 for lap dance room. $50 to club, $100 for girl. Sex is cheap here and everywhere. It is like little Vegas. The girls are getting so desperate even in outcall services they are dropping their rates to $80 for everything. I won't work in the south.

I work at the Dancer's Ranch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as well as other surrounding clubs. I average between 0 and 200 weekdays for a single 5 hour shift and 0-400 on the weekends. It varies so much it is sickening. I am traveling this week because the customer turnout has been so extremely poor these last two weeks in particular. Iowa is certainly not a big money state, but there are alot of less than average looking women here. This makes it better for me because I am not from Iowa and I am a veteran professional as well as a higher than average looking woman (not to brag, by any means) that knows the ropes and has a great personality to boot.

I work in NYC, Chicago, and Houston. In NYC, I average $750-$1500/shift, which is slightly more than the avg. dancer. In Chicago, I avg. $500-$900, while the "avergae" girl average s$400-$800. In Houston, my numbers, and the "average" is comparable to Chiacgo.

Is the money a matter of guys buying a zillion lapdances or are NY clubs full of big tippers? When the girls are making that kind of money, are they also required to pay $300 a night house fees?

What about trips recently? Don't forget the economy is different now than it was a few years ago. In many cities the earnings potential has gone way down. I know I am making about half my average from few years ago.
Do you dance only on weekends or can you walk in on a normal Wednesday night and make 700?

I think that cost of living needs to be factored in here. A dollar will stretch considerably further in the Central US than it will in the Northeast. A gal making $300/night in Des Moines may effectively be making more than a gal making $750/night in NYC.
