Default Did anyone see Martha Stewart's interview lastnite

I've always been a fan of Martha Stewart. Seriously. I've always said I want to be just like her. I never could understand why NOBODY seemed to like her. All my friends were so hostile towards her.

Anyhow, the reason for my question "did you see her interview last night?"

Did you see the fuckin' diamonds in her ears? MY GAWD they were minimum 6 ctw diamond solitaire earrings. Maybe even 8ctw. They kept shooting green and orange on the tv screen. hahaha.

Anyhow I noticed she had the "classic" jewelry: diamond studs and a single strand pearl necklace (with pearls the size of Earth for godssake) You typically see pearls this size only as a single on a pendant. The girl had them encircling her neck.

I like 'er even more now!

There's a lot of people who sit around the tube all evening and weekends. It pisses them off when they see someone with a lot of energy and innovation, being productive. Whether it's from cynicism, disbelief, or envy. That's how I see "Martha Stewart envy." And I've never watched a minute of her shows.

Now, when it comes to insider trading, boy, she's there. A guilty verdict would not surprise me. That then gives a lot of evil satisfaction to the people who hated her, either from the "see the mighty brought low" viewpoint or "Hah! I knew it! Nobody could be that perfect!" attitude.

However stupidly she dealt in the market, she still is a smart, energetic, and innovative person. That will always make people dislike her. She's also incredibly full of herself. That also will get people (like me) to dislike that aspect of her.

But did you see the ROCKS in her ears. Whoa! Maybe they were even 10cts. They were enormous! [dazzled]

edit: ok I feel compelled to start a poll now. I'm curious just how many people hate her. Please vote!

In answer to the query: Did anyone see Martha Stewart's interview last night?...my answer is "No, I am one who did not." Sorry, but I actually don't see that much TV (maybe only one hour total per week). In fact, I didn't even know it was showing.

BTW, I actually know many people who really like her -- including my 12 year old son. He thinks she is the greatest (and he actually has learned a lot from her).

    Hey Sapphire,

My Mom is a big fan!! My parents came into LA from Vegas last night. I took to dinner on the 3rd st promanade and my Mom made me take them back to the hotel so she wouldn't miss the interview.

Mom worships her. My Mom would like you

    Cheers,

    Corey

With all due respect, Martha is not being indicted on insider trading - she did try to contact Waksals, but never was actually able to talk to him directly. She decided to sell her IMCLONE shares based on the fact that MANY (7.7 million) IMCLONE shares were being traded that day. She merely went on the advice of her broker who told her that 'something must be up - lots of people were dumping their shares.' I've taken that advice from my brokers many times. That's what brokers are for - to advise their clients on when to buy/sell stocks!

The charges she is facing is for 'obstruction of justice' because she supposedly made up that story about telling her broker to sell when the stocks went below $60. There was no real evidence of that 'sell order' in writing (with the exception of a handwritten note). As a small time investor, I have often instructed my brokers to sell stock at a certain price without issuing a formal sell order and have never been in trouble for it.

This is a witch hunt (pardon the pun!), pure and simple. If she were a man who was well-liked, this case would have gone nowhere.

I may stand corrected. It had been a while since I read anything on the topic. It seemed pretty convenient at first blush: Martha is friends with CEO; government blasts company; Martha sells stocks in company the day before government blasting is made public. I don't know that you'd call it a witch hunt. It doesn't smell good. And plenty of well-respected men have been overzealously prosecuted, too.

For an overview, you can look here. .

The government could well tank on the criminal prosecution, but they could have a much better shot in the civil case. Lower standard of proof.

Right ,they dont just prosecute someone for no reason, its not like she had ties to the mafia and was a money launderer so they were using any exuse to bust her,I dont think they are just picking on her, anyways,I saw parts of the interview on e.t.,I saw her earings,I like martha stewarts stuff, even though its k mart,I am into decorating and stuff and like to watch her show when they do that kind of stuff,I aslo like her beautiful home, her chows, her himalayin cats, but I never really liked her as a person,I dont like her dry personality,I also find it funny how she would wait so long to talk about this, but anyways, she was a model in her younger years,I saw pictures of her,she was gorgeous.

how refreshing to hear I'm not the only one who admires her talents.

Corey, I feel like I've bonded with your mom! hehe.

Michele, when they showed pics of her as a young girl I thought to myself "she was a really good looking child" Then they showed some of her modeling pics and I was like "WOW!" Also, I had no idea she worked on Wall St. She really seems to have done it all.

It really does seem as though prosecutors are trying to make an example of her. [cuss]

Martha Stewart is no one's friend...she is a woman who is out for herself at the expense of others. Both personally and finacially, she's cut throat and the epitome of what is wrong with our definition of sucess. To back stab close friends to forge ahead in business, IMO is NOT what one should strive for! It's nice she has money and those gorgeous earings, but when they are hanging on a head so filled with nothing but herself...welp, i envy her none. --Besides, i have purchased 2 of her cups(coffee) from K-Mart, and have come to the conclusion she also lends her name to inferior products!...put that cup in the microwave for longer than 10 seconds, and the handle is hot enough to melt steel! LOL! She is not exactly the woman i would want to model my behavior off of. She's a crazed perfectionist who listens to pretty much no one, and therefore takes into account no one else...i guess when they say, "it's lonely at the top," 'they' were referring to her!

I have to add a funny story,I bought some curtains a k mart,4 panels for 2 windows, when I got them home and took them out of the packaging, they were the worst things, the paterns didnt match and the color was off on all of them,so I was saying what junk they were and went to return them, the lady asked why I was returning them and I told her I was like I have never seen such poorly made curtains, they arent even in the same color family, though they are suppose to match and my daughter loud as can be and so nonchalantly yells, " yeah martha stewart is a rip off",needless to say even when were in other stores know she tells everyone about martha.
